Soft, floral textiles and patterned rugs are complemented with wooden floors, cream walls and traditional furniture giving this cosy property a real country-cottage feel. Familiar touches throughout such as throw rugs and artwork give a sense of home and a welcome retreat as you return with weary limbs after a busy day outdoors.

Store all your outdoor clothing and shoes in the hall, before stepping through to the light and bright lounge. Comfortable sofas and armchairs beckon you to relax after a day out exploring this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. A charming town with winding narrow streets, Kirriemuir (3 miles) has craft shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants and there is a museum in the birthplace of JM Barrie, the creator of Peter Pan. Get those legs moving with walks to the nearby spectacular Reekie Linn Waterfall (2.5 miles) or, further afield, try the circuit at Loch Kinnordy (5 miles), a wonderful RSPB reserve. For the Munro enthusiasts, the start of the ascent of Driesh and Mayar is 15 miles away, whilst avid skiers and snowboarders will love Glenshee (24 miles). The immediate area offers excellent walking and biking routes with the stunning Glens of Isla, Clova and Prosen all within 20 miles. Historians will love the majestic Glamis Castle (10 miles) and the beautiful surrounding gardens, and Scone Palace (25 miles), a grand, gothic stately home with gardens and a maze. Head to the coast for sandy beaches at Monifieth (24 miles) with views over the Firth of Tay, and Broughty Ferry (22 miles) has a good selection of pubs and restaurants. Fantastic golf courses can be found at Kirriemuir (5 miles), Alyth (6 miles), Forfar (12 miles) and Blairgowrie (13 miles). Perth (27 miles) offers a range of entertainment, shops, cafés and restaurants, and is recognised as one of Scotlands premier culinary centres, while the vibrant city of Dundee (21 miles) offers extensive shopping, historical landmarks and restaurants.

We enjoyed our stay in the house and the peace and quiet of the area. The house had everything that you needed for a stay. and was spotlessly clean. An issue on our arrival was quickly sorted out by the owners- very much appreciated. Good clean well equiped cottage in a good location for mountains, sea and towns. An older property with ongoing updating and improvements reasonably well maintained. Fantastic cottage in a peaceful location. The cottage was lovely and clean, including all of the kitchenware, which can be a rare thing. It felt very homely from the moment we arrived. Lots of different things to do and see all within an hour. Would highly recommend.

If you want to spend some very quiet time, with dark skies and quiet roads in a beautiful hamlet, this is the place for you. A well equipped and homely cottage, with loads of space for us all. Garden visitors included a woodpecker and a yellow hammer, countless sparrows, blackbirds, finches, swallows, bats, froglets, the occasional muntjac deer (I Read moredont know who was more surprised on one occasion - me or her!). The cottage was great, loads of space for us all and the kitchen area was the central hub, we had great times dining and enjoying board games, Kali our Golden Retriever loved the enclosed garden as she done many laps during our stay, We all had a fabulous time.

Great peaceful location, cottage has plenty of things like crockery, glasses etc. Plenty of space indoors and out. New garden furniture if you are lucky enough with the weather. Secure garden for the dog. Take or get some bird food, you won't regret it, Woodpecker, yellow hammer, blue, great & coal tits, chaffinches to name but a few. This traditional cottage is cosy, very well looked after and has everything you could ask for (except a dishwasher). A lovely cottage in a gorgeous location. We saw red squirrels, pine martens, ospreys, great crested grebes and dozens of other birds. The nearby towns of Kirriemuir and Alyth are charming and there is absolutely loads to do within a close distance.
