Settle on the soft seating to discuss the adventures of your day; plan your next day of fun together or simply soak up the magnificent views through the great expanses of glass. A great place to switch off. The cabin is well-equipped and comfortable, with great views - perfect for unwinding. I used it as a base for day trips - Edinburgh, Clyde Falls and Ben Lomond were all within reasonable driving distance. There are nice cafes, pubs and restaurants in Biggar - a short taxi ride or 30 minute walk from the cabin.

We had a lovely time exploring the area, with a great base to return to. The view was amazing and we enjoyed looking back after our walk up Tinto. A well equipped kitchen - stick to smaller bottles of milk! Lots to do in the local area: we explored Dawyck gardens and visited the Falls of Clyde and Glentress forest. Quite a long walk back from BiggaRead morer but there are take-aways available for collection for a relaxing evening. Hide

Scotland is also a land of unique culture where the people are renowned for their incredible warmth and hospitality. Experience the peaceful Isle of Lewis where Scots Gaelic is widely spoken, or immerse yourself in the cosmopolitan cities of Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen which are vibrant with thriving arts scenes, delicious restaurants and bustling nightlife. And no trip to Scotland is complete without exploring the castles and distilleries: learn about clan rivalries or bloody battles amongst 13th-century battlements or try a taste of Scotland itself during a tour of one of the 120 whisky distilleries. Pure Scottish culture in a glass.

With so many beautiful places to visit and things to experience, a break to Scotland should not be missed. Our fantastic Scottish holiday cottages will ensure a truly memorable getaway.
