A bungalow located in a quiet residential street in Thurso. Ideal for exploring coastal points of interest such as John O’Groats, Castle of Mey and Dunnet Head nature reserve.

Situated along the NC500 within easy reach of local amenities and attractions, this property is ideal for two couples or a small family to use as a base to explore Caithness. Popular sights within easy reach include the RSPB Nature Reserve at Dunnet Head, where you can spot many nesting birds and go for a stroll along the beautiful sandy beach at Dunnet Bay. Ensure you visit the Castle of Mey and gardens, which provides an insight into the Queen Mother who had loved this castle so dearly. There are numerous other castles and ruins along this northern coastline worth seeing, including Old St Peter’s Church and Brims Castle to name just two.

The property entrance leads into a hallway where you will find the spacious lounge, which contains a Smart TV and a large wireless Bluetooth speaker that doubles up as a side table. The kitchen is well-equipped and contains an electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher, fridge and coffee machine, and a dining table that seats four guests. Leading off from the kitchen is a small utility area with a microwave, washing machine and tumble dryer which leads through to a door to access the garage that is available for guest use. In the garage, you will find a large chest freezer and plenty of space for storing kayaks, golf clubs, fishing gear, bikes and even motorbikes. Back inside the house, there are two good sized bedrooms; one double bedroom and one king-size bedroom with an en-suite shower room with WC. Both bedrooms have been tastefully decorated and furnished. Across the hall from the double bedroom, there is a shower room with WC, meaning that both rooms have access to their own bathroom.

Outside, the large lawned garden is completely enclosed, making it safe for four-legged guests and children. There is a small seating area where you can relax and enjoy the sunshine with a cup of coffee in hand. The large garage is available for guest use, and the driveway itself can accommodate up to two cars.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

From the isolated and peaceful Shetland Islands in the north to the thriving border towns and cities in the south, across wild mountains and serene lochs, and encompassing over 700 islands, Scotland’s rich and dramatic landscape simply must be seen to be appreciated. Scotland is home to the ten highest mountains in the UK – including Ben Nevis, the UK’s highest peak – and is bordered by three seas, offering epic scenery unlike any other you may have seen.

Whether you choose to explore the Highlands, lowlands or islands, lovers of the great outdoors will be thrilled by the stunning Scottish landscapes where some of the rarest UK wildlife can be glimpsed, including golden eagles, dolphins and whales. Take a road trip on the North Coast 500, Scotland’s version of Route 66, to experience the sheer beauty of the land’s wilderness or, as Scotland is the home of golf, either tee off at one of the 550 courses across parkland, heathland and links courses.

Scotland is also a land of unique culture where the people are renowned for their incredible warmth and hospitality. Experience the peaceful Isle of Lewis where Scots Gaelic is widely spoken, or immerse yourself in the cosmopolitan cities of Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen which are vibrant with thriving arts scenes, delicious restaurants and bustling nightlife. And no trip to Scotland is complete without exploring the castles and distilleries: learn about clan rivalries or bloody battles amongst 13th-century battlements or try a taste of Scotland itself during a tour of one of the 120 whisky distilleries. Pure Scottish culture in a glass.
