Occupying a secluded spot between Tay Forest Park and the Cairngorms, this fantastic stone-built detached farmhouse makes a welcoming holiday home for couples and families. Offering ample space for six guests across three bedrooms, this beautifully decorated and furnished property makes a lovely, welcoming base for nature lovers, keen walkers and cyclists wanting to explore the stunning Perthshire countryside. This wonderful property is located in a tranquil glen and set within an acre of enclosed grounds, giving children plenty of space to play, and offering plenty of opportunity to spot local wildlife including deer, woodpeckers and owls.

Entering this light and friendly property, the spacious and fully-equipped farmhouse kitchen has a beamed ceiling, warming AGA-style oven and large dining table which provides a lively space for sharing a family meal. Exploring the ground floor further, the welcoming lounge has a pair of wood burners standing at either end, a choice of comfortable seating and Smart SkyTV. An open staircase leads up from the lounge to the first floor where you will find three cosy bedrooms: two spacious doubles and a charming twin room, all with gorgeous views and some low, sloping ceilings. The bathroom has underfloor heating and a Bluetooth-enabled mirror as well as a shower over the bath and a WC.

Stepping outside, the large garden has plenty of space for kids to play, and features a patio with plenty of garden furniture so you can sit back with a glass of wine in the evening. An open field provides space for a game of football or rounders, and there’s also a delightful lawn to the front of the house with a wooden play area. Ample off-road parking is available, along with two dog kennels and undercover storage for bikes and golf clubs.

The property is located on the northern fringe of the magical Tay Forest Park, within a mile of the Etape Caledonia cycling route and within easy reach of Loch Tummel (10 miles) where you can enjoy long walks and spectacular views. The House of Bruar is nearby (6 miles), where you will find a range of country clothing, classic tweed and outdoor wear, gifts and a fantastic restaurant and food hall. Heading into the Cairngorms National Park, Blair Atholl (9.5 miles) is a picturesque village overlooked by the imposing Blair Castle, which has acted as the gateway to the Highlands for seven centuries. The castle is home to the beautiful Hercules Garden and Diana’s Grove. Other local landmarks include the Falls of Bruar (7 miles), Killiecrankie Gorge (13 miles) and the charming village of Kinloch Rannoch (8 miles). There are also several fabulous golf courses in the area. The pretty burgh of Pitlochry (16.5 miles) offers a choice of activities and attractions, with plenty of great restaurants and pubs, independent shops, galleries and a spa hotel. Attractions include the famous Pitlochry Festival Theatre, Blair Atholl Distillery and Explorers Garden. Throughout the area, there are plenty of activities to take part in including fishing, golf, mountain biking and climbing, with the Munro of Schiehallion to the south (13 miles). You can also visit the Scottish Crannog Centre (18 miles), explore Loch Errochty (5 miles) and Loch Rannoch (10 miles) or take a trip around one of the many local distilleries.

Just returned from our second visit here, another lovely stay , the house was just as before, beautifully clean, its immaculate, everything about this house is quality ie comfortable beds, lovely linen and towels just make it a home from home. Beautiful, warm and well equipped cottage with plenty of information provided. This cottage is in such a lovely special part of the Scottish Highlands. The cottage has some lovely walks nearby and there are lovely walks straight out of the rear garden onto the hills with an abundance of wild life on your doorstep (deer, birds and lots more).

Beautifully decorated, great comfortable beds with lovely bedding. Fabulous kitchen, especially the Aga. Owner really helpful. Warm and cosy. Dog friendly with great garden. The front garden completely enclosed, even for our 'escape artist'! Bird feeders in the garden attract a wonderful variety of birds, particularly excited by the Nuthatch and WoRead moreodpeckers. The farmhouse is beautiful with old world charm but with every modern convenience catered for. The Aga is a wonderful feature and easy to use. Just home from a fantastic week, the weather wasnt great but the beautiful comfortable farmhouse made up for that. Despite the weather we walked each day. Perfect holiday home and hospitable owners a great base for relaxing, exploring and wild life spotting. Great secure outdoor space for exercising the dog. Lovely host and amazing property. Really well equipped for our stay, fitted out and maintained to a far higher standard than alot of other properties we have stayed in. Private, fenced off land was great for the dogs to run around. Well stocked log burners kept us lovely and warm. Wouldnt have changed anything about it.

This is our favourite property out of all the ones we have stayed in. Everything has been thought of and the unexpected extras are a lovely touch by the owners. Our dog who is not up for long walks any longer enjoyed the fantastic garden and snoozing in front of the Aga. The cottage is definitely on the list for a return visit.

A great place to come if you're keen on birds, with siskins, chaffinch, greenfinch, great & blue tits and great spotted woodpecker regularly visible from the kitchen window. Tomcraggach was was beyond any holiday home we have experienced before. Photos on the website dont do it justice. The house was immaculate. Beds were very comfy with high quality bedding and mattresses. The bathroom was excellent with a powerful shower. The extras were way beyond anything you would expect. Excellent cottage! Beautiful location, very comfortable, especially the beds, well equipped kitchen. We very much enjoyed cooking on the Aga. It was wonderful to look at the birds feeding and we even had a visit from two deer in the neighbouring garden. Very friendly owner who gave lots of tips and suggestions. We hope to return!
