The perfect family retreat for a memorable holiday close to the bustling city life of Dundee as well as a plethora of golf courses, beaches and countryside perfect for days out exploring.

Head to the peaceful Fife countryside for a calming break, with the coast in close reach and the bustling cities of St Andrews and Dundee also only a short distance. The spacious home is well equipped to host a large family reunion, comfortably hosting ten guests or 11 with younger children. You can also bring three dogs along for the trip, ideal for long walks on brisk Scottish beaches or a hike over the Lomond Hills.

This homely house boasts a traditional style throughout, opting for patterned carpets, wallpapers and soft furnishings to ensure a comfortable and welcoming theme. Each room has a unique colour scheme and many of the bedrooms benefit from bright, contemporary splashes of colour. Overall, a group of ten won’t be left feeling cramped or on top of one another here in Fife, as each room has a generous size traditionally found in farmhouses.

This farmhouse’s style is best presented in the spacious kitchen, where a bright room boasts plenty of space to cook, eat and chat as a family. Your keen family cook will love cooking on the classic country AGA, but rest assured, you have an electric oven and induction hob on standby for cooking catastrophes. The room is separated by a large kitchen island, creating plenty of workspace, and a casual breakfast table to the other side of the room - the perfect spot for morning coffee. Evening dining can be enjoyed in the conservatory, where a large circular table offers a great place to dine together and enjoy views of the surrounding gardens. When it’s time to unwind, you’ll find more than enough space to do so, be it with an evening tipple in said conservatory or utilising one of two sitting rooms. Both sitting rooms have TVs and one has a warming wood burner and a joyful piano. Older teenagers may like to break away and unwind in the games room, where you can enjoy pool or table tennis.

All guests will find somewhere to sleep on the first floor, and the home benefits from zip-and-link beds to ensure versatility when catering to a range of parties. Decoration in the bedrooms can be described as slightly more modern than downstairs, and contemporary decor is paired with bright splashes of colour to give the home plenty of character. One king-size/twin bedroom benefits from a relaxed day bed hosting an extra child by prior arrangement, ideal for parents with a younger guest.

The home is surrounded by a large area set to grassy lawn, which isn’t enclosed but makes a great space to play sports or ball games with children. A decked area to the rear of the property boasts the added luxury of a private hot tub, perfect for enjoying a glass of fizz of an evening.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Please note there is a refundable £500 security deposit for this property payable closer to the start of your holiday.

Head to Tentsmuir Sands just 5.5 miles away to enjoy a vast expanse of golden sands or visit Tayport Beach (3 miles) for a dog-friendly beach by the water. The former is a good spot for viewing seals and the latter is a great place to see Scotland's native dolphins.

Nearby St Andrews (8 miles) is a popular pilgrimage for fans of golf, and keen sportsmen will certainly enjoy a golf-themed holiday in the area. Visit the UK's oldest golf course in St Andrews or head to the Golf Museum (10.5 miles) for an interesting day out. Those wishing to stay a little closer to home will find three golf courses in a 3-mile radius of the home.

Those looking for a slightly more challenging outdoor activity can head to the nearby Lomond Hills, around 23 miles away by car. Enjoy a hike up the towering West Lomond (25 miles) or enjoy a trip across East Lomond, starting in the picturesque village of Falkland (21 miles). Be sure to check out the tea rooms or wee shops for gifts before heading back.

An equally exciting day out can be spent in the city of Dundee, a mere 6 miles in the car. The city boasts plenty of cultural excursions, such as Scotland's V&A (6 miles) or the McManus Art Gallery and Museum (7.5 miles).
