The former weaving village of Dairsie offers a tranquil place to stay, while benefitting from its own shop, pub and Post Office. Here, you’ll find yourselves less than 3 miles from the coast and 11.5 miles from the Lomond Hills Regional Park. Pick up the Fife Coastal Path at Guardbridge, 3 miles away, for bracing walks with dramatic scenery.

As well as being within easy reach of St Andrews, 6.5 miles away, and its Old Course, which is renowned, of course, across the world as the home of golf, there are other places to play in the area. Golf enthusiasts might like to try St Michaels, 3 miles from the cottage, and Springfield, 6.5 miles away.

Also visit St Andrews to see Scotland’s oldest university and the striking ruins of St Andrews Castle and Cathedral. Wander the town’s many independent shops, choose between its fine restaurants and welcoming cafes and spend time at the World Golf Museum or the aquarium too. You can also walk 1.5 miles from the town down to the sandy beach to swim, paddle and try your hand at water sports. The city of Dundee, 10.5 miles away, also makes an exciting day out.

This cottage is ideal for a short break and for visiting St Andrews. The cottage is newly refurbished and is warm and comfortable, they even have a wood burning stove. We stayed here for 3 nights with our 1 year old boy and really enjoyed it. There was plenty of space for the three of us and he looved the outside seating area.
