Situated within a 1,000-acre estate in the heart of the glorious Perthshire countryside, this spacious home is the ideal venue for special occasions or breaks with friends and family. The five-bedroom property welcomes ten guests and is the perfect base from which to explore the stunning Scottish landscape. Lovers of the great outdoors will be in their element with many walks, hikes and activities on offer. With the benefit of a cottage immediately next door as well that sleeps four, up to 14 people can be accommodated here along with two dogs – please enquire if you’d like to book both properties together.

The building dates from the 18th century and while more modern comforts have been added in recent years, it cleverly retains its old-world charm and character. It is both spacious and light, with many of the rooms enjoying beautiful views of the gardens and surrounding landscape. Decorated in warm, neutral tones, it has a warm and inviting feel.

The large kitchen/diner really is at the heart of this home and provides a wonderful space for guests to gather to share a meal, play games or simply sit and chat. A traditional AGA complements the more modern appliances, making this a well-equipped room for aspiring chefs to put their skills to good use. Your guests will waste no time in curling up on the cosy sofas in the elegant sitting room, as you all unwind while the open fire crackles away. For those wanting to spread out a little, the separate snug room with sofa bed is a welcome addition.

A warm and relaxing atmosphere has been created in the bedrooms, which offer a welcoming place to rest your heads after a busy day of exploring. The double bedroom on the first floor has its own en-suite with a roll-top bath, while there’s also a further double bedroom and twin room on this level, along with the main family bathroom. There is also a second floor to this house, where you’ll discover a further two bedrooms which enjoy those exceptional views.

If you’re part of a larger group, why not book The Old Laundry too? It’s a delightful cottage next door which sleeps up to four people. With bright and fresh decor throughout, it features a cosy sitting room with a wood burner, as well as two single chair beds. Rustle up a snack in the kitchen/diner, before retiring to the charming bedroom where a restful night’s sleep awaits.

Heading outside, the enclosed garden is a fantastic space to allow the children and dogs to roam freely and to play on the swing and in the playhouse. Sit back and soak up the pure tranquillity that surrounds the cottage or, if the weather is fine, enjoy a little al fresco dining as the sun sets.

Lovely holiday cottage in a fantastic location. The rooms have lots of character and the modern kitchen makes cooking for a larger group very easy. A bit drafty here and there, and the drive up can be a challenge for smaller cars in wet weather, but those are just minor negatives. We would certainly stay there again!

I stayed at Whitehouse with eight other friends, and a dog, to celebrate my 30th birthday and would recommend it to any other large groups looking for somewhere to stay in this part of Scotland. It's location is absolutely stunning as it stands on a valley side overlooking the scenery of Blacklunans. The house has a large secluded garden which is aRead moren extremely enjoyable place to spend time if the weather is suitable. The garden is also ideal if you are taking dogs as they have a large area to roam free without disturbing any local wildlife. The house itself is luxurious and has plenty of room for everyone. On the ground floor, the kitchen and dining area is ideal for preparing meals for large groups and a great place to sit enjoy food and drink. The living room and sitting room are decorated beautifully and provide comfort and space for everyone. Everyone who I stayed with said that their bed was extremely comfortable and the rooms are also spacious. There are also plenty of bathrooms to get going quickly in the morning as there are no need for queues to get washed and ready. Everything we needed was provided for us and there is a large Tesco in Blairgowrie (around 15-20 minutes away) for shopping. For somewhere to relax with surrounding natural beauty Whitehouse delivers and is a gorgeous property. There are also plenty of excellent locations within driving distance to enjoy while you stay there. We couldn't have asked for anymore and I would recommend it to any large groups of friends or family (of any age). Hide
