Set out on foot to explore the woodland behind the property or stroll down to the banks of the loch. Just a short drive away, Fort William (11 miles) is the outdoor hotspot of the Highlands, offering a range of activities including mountain biking, climbing, walking, water and winter sports. Part of the Grampian Mountain range, this famous peak is Scotland’s largest mountain, with two main walking routes to the summit for varying ability levels. Harry Potter fans should head straight for the Jacobite Steam Train, which starts its journey near Ben Nevis, passing lochs, rivers, the famous Glenfinnan Viaduct (10.5 miles) and many more breathtaking views. Meanwhile, the picturesque Road to the Isles (7 miles) passes some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Or, for those who prefer to be on the water itself, cruises can be enjoyed at Loch Shiel (19 miles), Loch Linnhe (38 miles) and the Sound of Sleat (50 miles).
