This single-storey, stone-built cottage has been beautifully appointed to provide stylish yet homely accommodation, with bright and open spaces and all of the comforts of modern life. A comforting mix of contemporary decor with antique furnishings and comfortable textiles ensure a relaxing stay in the Scottish countryside.

After a day of walking in the fresh air, sit back in front of the wood burner and put on your favourite film on the Smart TV, keeping your toes toasty with the underfloor heating. With a traditional country-living feel, the lounge is the perfect place to relax after a day out exploring the local area. Cook up a storm in the bespoke kitchen which is fully equipped for preparing light lunches and romantic dinners for two, with a relaxed dining area in which to enjoy your home-cooked meals. Set on the coast between Aberdeen and Dundee, this cottage benefits from its close proximity to two of Scotland’s biggest cities. Hop on the train from Montrose for a trip to one of these thriving cultural hubs, with plenty of shops and eateries, as well as museums such as the Tolbooth Museum, galleries such as the McManus and V&A, and parks including Duthie Park to explore. Have a beach day on the soft sands of St Cyrus Beach or, for nature lovers, the St Cyrus Nature Reserve and Montrose Basin Nature Reserve offer scenic walks through rich landscapes, ideal for a relaxing afternoon birdwatching. Take a picnic down to Lunan Bay, 2.5 miles from the property, or start your day with a spot of surfing. Visit the Red Castle that sits on the cliff behind the beach, or walk up to Boddin Point for some uninterrupted coastal views. For a drink after a day of walking, you can find a pub 2 miles away in Lunan, or Montrose, which is 3 miles away, has a lovely selection of eateries. Fabulous cottage, much bigger inside than the photos suggest. Everything we needed with the bonus of having a secure garden for our dog to use. A perfect hopping off point to visit the surrounding areas. Lovely been able to walk in the castle grounds and walled garden.

A truly peaceful cottage in a wonderful location, well positioned for exploring Angus, Fife and beyond with several excellent coastal walks and beaches nearby. Yew Cottage is well equipped and well maintained by its friendly owners. This is our third visit and we have found different things to do in the area each time. Yew cottage was very comfortable and dog friendly, very modern on the interior with everything to hand in the kitchen. Well placed for local trips to Montrose & Arbroath and surrounding areas including Lunan Bay.

Lovely clean cottage in a tranquil place. It was nice to not feel overlooked, it was very private. Nice to know our dog was safe in the enclosed garden. A nice peaceful fortnight.

Great cottage with good quality furnishings. Kitchen is well equipped too. Fully enclosed rear garden. Lovely quiet location close to some beautiful beaches. Access to the walled garden is a wonderful treat.

The cottage was ideal and the location was excellent would recommend it, the walled garden and woodland walks were lovely we were even lucky with the weather. We had a train ride to Edinburgh and it was really good so many lovely views on the way.

A warm, welcoming cottage - spacious snd light. Such a comfortable place to stay and to come back to after a day's rambling. We enjoyed eating in (what a fabulous kitchen) and playing games in the evening. A truly relaxing few days.

Wonderful cottage, very peaceful location. Plenty of lovely walks nearby. Walking in the wood opposite the property is a must, red squirrels & roe deer seen. Property is well equipped, underfloor heating & log burner nice & cosy.

Wonderful Cosy cottage - brilliant for our dog particularly the woodland walk and gardens literally across the road. Location near beach and walks and yet town close enough to get a take away home. We would highly recommend the cottage at any time of the year and we will be returning very soon.

Beautiful cottage with everything you need, nice and private, the enclosed garden is perfect, even a little sausage dog cant escape! The log fire stove is lovely to cosy up in front of at night. Nearby are beautiful beaches All main shops arent to far away.

Yew cottage is an excellent location for country side, mountains and good beaches. Dog proof garden and free use of the woodland walks in the castle grounds, and the beautiful walled garden, dear little fishing villages with good pubs. Well equipped and furnished. A good stay.

The cottage is immaculate with everything you need for a wonderful stay. The walk around the castle grounds was brilliant for our dog in the early evening. Close to Montrose for all your shopping and close to a main road for your adventures but nestled in a quiet rural area.

A really lovely place to stay in a quiet location. Cottage has everything you need. Enclosed garden is good if you have a dog. Being able to walk in the castle grounds and walled garden a big bonus. Highly recommended.

The cottage was perfect, quiet yet easy access to Montrose, 10 mins by car. The entrance to the estate opened on to a variety of walks, from a mile long perimeter woodland path, there is a half way point if you get tired !
