    An-Caladh reviews
We enjoyed our stay very much. Cottage is very well equipped. Garden is dog friendly and secure. We loved the Bakehouse at Blackwaterfoot. Very tasty. The beaches all over the island are fantastic, but we particularly enjoyed Lamlash and the Octopus centre was extremely informative. Great cottage in a fab location to explore the island.
    Mrs Williamson - June 2019
An-Caladh rates a four star purely down to the poor access roads and the state of the next door property. Regarding the roads I in all cinerite could not recommend it to any one with a car due to the danger of pothole damage occurring. An-Caladh in itself rates near five star only failing on a couple of comforts, lack of whiskey tumblers and a pizza wheel cutter, I fail to cut a Pizza with a knife, any tips gratefully received. An-Caladh gave me a super chance to return to my ancestral and childhood Island home. Thank you.
Owners Response: "Thank you for your review . We can confirm that the access road condition is temporary because the next door property has changed hands recently and there has been work going on and the road will be repaired on completion. We were unaware the pizza cutter was missing and there are various types of glasses available. We are glad you enjoyed your holiday overall."
    Mr Mckay - May 2019
Excellent accommodation very clean and very comfortable.
    Mrs Winterbottom - April 2019
Centrally located on Arran, this cottage is perfect for exploring the whole island. Peaceful cottage within beautiful countryside. Very spacious, warm, all the facilities you'll need and very clean. Also great for a dog as the garden is fully enclosed.
    Mr Howell - March 2019
An Caladh was perfect for our short break on Arran. It was very cosy, much appreciated.
    Ms Hendry - March 2019
All good. Would recommend the property. The Standing Stones of Machrie Moor were impressive.
    Mr Blincow - February 2019
Great cottage had everything we needed. Lovely comfy beds. Location was good but did find it a little tricky to find the cottage to start with. Lovely island. Will definitely be back.
    Mrs Inglis - October 2018
In the house everything was fine, clean, and functional. The position was excellent because all places were equally distant from the house. A big value. In the isle, where we came especially for taking pictures, we enjoyed all the walk and the trekkings. We loved especially the Blackwater bakery in Blackwaterfoot and the Sandwich station in Lochranza. And we were astonished about the many pheasants and blackberries all around!
    Mrs Noris - August 2018
This house was first class and an excellent first holiday for our 4 month old Cocker Spaniel - Oli. The fully enclosed garden was brilliant and we did not need for anything at the property. Very clean and comfortable.
    Mrs Hilferty - August 2018
Absolutely loved this bungalow clean tidy modern had everything we needed in a quiet location with lovely neighbours and close to everywhere we walked miles everyday and had two teenagers that enjoyed playing on there bikes and we knew they were safe definitely will return to this property ❤️
    Mrs Murdoch - July 2018
Excellent property, well maintained & plenty of space for us 4 plus the dog,a bit isolated but an excellent bus service to any part of the Island.
    Mr Thomson - May 2018
Spacious comfortable home from home . We enjoyed every minute of our stay . The bungalow has everything you need 15 mins from the ferry terminal . Loved it !!
    Mr Bontoft - April 2018
I had an enjoyable stay at An-Caladh its a great house with all the facilities you could need. Based in a quiet area away from the main tourist spots it's situated on the western side of the island and it's central location is ideal to explore the whole island from also appeared to be plenty of walks nearby with sea views.
    Mr Drew - April 2018
Ideally situated for visiting all parts of the island, especially the southern end which is much quieter and has plenty of wildlife and walks. Well equipped cottage, only, but minor criticism was lack of hooks on bathroom doors and in hall to dry wet coats etc.We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
    Mr Kirby - March 2018
House was lovely and warm on arrival. There were Christmas decorations up which was a nice touch. Accurate description of property. Well appointed kitchen. Spacious bathroom and the additional en-suite shower room was great. Few miles to nearest shop which we knew. Lovely and clean. Good value
    Mrs Confue - December 2017
Fantastic Bungalow with everything you could possible need, immaculate and homely. Garden brilliant for the dog. This was our first trip to Arran and it won't be out last, An-Caladh was perfectly located to visit the whole island. Make sure you take a torch as its very dark and our first evening dog walk walk was challenging lol. We undertook some beautiful walks and had lovely evenings playing games. One evening was even partially spent sat with a glass of wine in tee-shirts sitting in the garden watching the birds and the sunset - at the end of October - we were blessed with the weather. If i could ask for anything more it would be for an additional baking tray, guidance on what is recyclable as it varies from area to area and a bird feeder to attract the fantastic selection of birds flitting about. Thank you we had an amazing time
    Mr Robson - October 2017
Lovely cottage in a peaceful location. Fully enclosed garden which is essential when you have a dog with you. Great location for touring the island. Only downside was closeness of neighboring houses as garden not as big as it looks on website.
    Mrs Mclaughlin - August 2017
We had a great time in the cottage and on the island - a peaceful location to stay.
    Mr Bonnett - June 2017
Beautiful presented and well equipped property in a perfect location to explore the island.
    Miss Kennedy - May 2017
House was spotlessly clean, comfortable, delightful views, well equipped and excellent value for money.
    Mr Macquarrie - April 2017
Lovely modern bungalow within easy reach of the whole of the island.
Mr And Mrs Hodgkinson - April 2017
Warm and cosy property, very well equipped and well located to access the island.
    Miss Parsons - December 2016
Thank you Alison for taking extra care ie fragrance free and no feathers, ( to accommodate allergies), allowing us to have a great holiday at your bungalow. Yours is the only holiday home we have stayed in whereby the garden was completely enclosed and safe for our 15 yr old terrier to wander safely. The interior is furnished to a high standard, impeccably clean and we felt at home straight away. Thank you also for the Arran preserves and oat cakes, they were delicious. It was our 1st time on the island and we will return to An Caladh again. We loved the west coast beaches, Lochranza distillery on the only wet day, The Drift Inn for lunch and a must to visit is the Heritage Centre at Brodick.
    Ms Royle - September 2016
We enjoyed our visit to the Island, which was made all the better by our stay in An-Caladh. The home was beautifully presented by the owner, and the tasty gifts left in the kitchen were an excellent and thoughtful touch. The cottage is well placed for reaching the whole Island, which we did. We would not hesitate to recommend this property, and will definitely return. 10 out of 10.
    Mr Thomson - August 2016
    Mr Aujla - August 2016
The cottage was immaculate and very tastefully decorated. Lots of living space and the owners had everything you could ever need for a stay. They had a selection of DVDs, board games, puzzles, all the kitchen utensils you could think of, beautiful colour coordinated rooms, lovely fluffy towels and a lovely though of a selection of Arran chutneys. Would highly recommend a stay here.
