Set on the tranquil shores of Loch Arkaig and surrounded by stunning mountain scenery, this enchanting traditional crofter's cottage makes a spacious, comfortable and inviting family holiday retreat.

Set beside the quiet shores of Loch Arkaig and surrounded by dramatic mountains, this enchanting traditional Highland crofter’s cottage is perfect for those seeking out peace and tranquillity. Set out on foot for a walk around the loch or to take on the hills beyond, or visit Fort William (25 miles) where you will find a good choice of shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs.

This single-storey property has been beautifully updated and extended to offer bright and spacious accommodation with high ceilings, wooden flooring, neutral decor and plenty of natural light throughout. Sympathetically renovated by the owners, thick stone walls and wood panelling remain, while the later additions of a wood burner, stylish kitchen and fresh decor create a comfortable modern feel.

Cook and dine in the fantastic kitchen/diner, which is fitted with contemporary units, sky lights, stylish pendant lighting and has a large dining table in the centre to seat six. Afterwards, step into the stunning lounge, which boasts vaulted ceilings, two sets of patio doors for summer, a wood burner for winter and cosy soft furnishings. While the chic master double bedroom benefits from a spacious en-suite bathroom, the two delightful twin bedrooms share a separate bathroom.

Outside, there is a fantastic private garden with furniture for enjoying al fresco meals in the sunshine. For when the weather is not so kind, there is an external drying room for those soggy walking clothes.

Enjoying a truly peaceful and scenic location, this property is perfect for those in search of an escape from the daily grind. Set by the quiet shores of Loch Arkaig, it is surrounded by dramatic mountains and unspoilt Scottish countryside. Birdwatchers will be in their element as they look out for golden eagles, ptarmigan and ospreys, which are often seen diving into the loch and emerging with a fish. This area is also home to families of pine marten and deer, making each and every walk a wildlife lover's haven. Whether you choose to take on the mighty Ben Nevis or simply enjoy a leisurely stroll around the lochs, this area is a walker’s paradise regardless of ability.

Take to the water with a morning's sea kayaking with Rockhopper Day Tours (16.5 miles) close to Fort William, during which you will discover stunning unspoilt beaches, seals and flying fish. Or, discover the Great Glen between Inverness and Fort William as you travel along the Caledonian Canal to Loch Lochy, Loch Oich and Loch Ness. Stock up on supplies in Spean Bridge (12 miles), where you will find a supermarket, cafe, restaurant and Highland soap shop. Or, for a wider choice of amenities visit Fort William (17.5 miles), where you can pick up essentials, a hot meal and everything you might need should you decide to tackle Ben Nevis.

This was our 3rd stay at this wonderful cottage and I can't rate it highly enough its very well equipped and the location is stunning we are already planning our 4th stay.

Beautiful location, very well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds an all round lovely place to stay . This was our second time at the cottage and I'm sure there will be a third.

This is the second year we have been at Ardechive and had a fantastic time. I have to commend the housekeeping staff for their work in making everything right for our stay and for supporting me to get can started at end of holiday. Great support and contact from Fiona too.
