Binsness is like an island without the disadvantages. It stands alone on Findhorn Bay surrounded on two sides by water and sheltered by 5000 acres of the Culbin Forest. Just a short walk away, there are beaches that extend 16 miles along the coast to Nairn. Perfect for picnics and ideal for a family summer holiday with plenty of alternatives for all ages.

This lovely holiday house dates from the 17th Century and has great charm and the extensive refurbishment and redecoration that has been done provide excellent self catering holiday accommodation for those who enjoy the spaces and beaches and views. The new sun porch and the roof terrace are perfect for enjoying the views over the garden and bay. The house is over a mile from the nearest house but only 5 miles from the attractive town of Forres.

The garden is fabulous and was once open to the public with an avenue of Irish yews leading down to the sea. Binsness is over a mile from the nearest house but only 5 miles from the pretty town of Forres mentioned in Macbeth.

Findhorn is a lovely spot well known for its micro climate and reputedly has the third highest sunshine count in the British Isles. It is a perfect spot to explore Scotland as you are within easy reach of the Cairngorms, the Speyside whisky trail, the beaches and golf courses of the Moray coast and, of course, the now renowned dolphins who live in the Moray Firth.

Wonderful highland home. Well equipped, great location. We used it for family during daughters wedding. Used the fiddler and piper known arranged by the staff. Best to arrange up front if you need assistance from Lindsay - cooking / cleaning etc. Very helpful at large dinner parties. We would certainly return here as we love and know the area so well.

Thoroughly enjoyed our week here at Easter. Three families holidaying together as we have done for years and this is one of the best houses we have stayed in. Beautiful well maintained house with lots of space for everyone to spread out in, and a great situation between Findhorn Bay and Culbin forest. Quiet, but close enough to Forres if you need to buy food etc. Barely got in the car all week though which was nice. Andy and Lindsay were both very helpful and friendly.

We had a team of fifteen people that stayed at Binsness for a days fishing and a wedding. It provided very comfortable accommodation which was modern and functional, yet retained traditional charm. The fires were all burning on our arrival and we were provided with new logs each day. The house was lovely and warm even when the fires were not on. The drawing room and dining room provided plenty space for us all to socialise and the idyllic setting was great for walks. We were given a very helpful welcome and assistance from the estate manager was on hand if and when needed.

Our third holiday for extended family in Binsness. An idyllic setting on the edge of forest and sea.
    Dr Dargie - August 2014
Our family aged from 2-68 had a happy time at Binsness, something for everyone. Great cycling to empty beach, sailing, golf and relaxing in front of log fire with a drink.
