Braes of Foss is a newly renovated farmhouse dating from the 1800s and is all that now remains of an early 18th century township. This working hill farm sits at 1200ft above sea level amidst stunning Highland Perthshire scenery; the nearest neighbouring property is at least 3km away. Sitting literally at the foot of the famous Munro Schiehallion (In gaelic Sith Chailleann which means 'fairy hill of the Caledonians'), Braes of Foss Farm provides a wonderfully peaceful escape.

This lovely holiday house has been completely and beautifully renovated and provides a fresh, bright and extremely comfortable home. Wood burning stoves and central heating make it welcoming even in the most brutal weather. The bedrooms create an inviting and luxurious sanctuary and everyone will enjoy the huge bath with its views across the hills. This property is ideally suited to those families, couples and small groups who genuinely love the mountains and the raw splendour of the Scottish Highlands.

There is an enclosed garden and you can enjoy the farm animals in the fields around the house including the charm of lambs and Highland calves in the Spring. Whilst one well-behaved dog is welcome, this is a working farm so the dog must be well-behaved, kept under control at all times and on a lead when in the proximity of farm animals. Fishing and other sport may by available by separate arrangement and salmon fishing on the Tay and Lyon may be available in season. For walkers, Schiehallion is a must, but there are numerous other amazing walks in the area. Aberfeldy is a charming town complete with a small private cinema, a whisky distillery, castle and numerous shops and cafes. Kinloch Rannoch has a 5 star hotel and restaurant should you want a break from the kitchen; there is also a café and a village shop.

    Braes of Foss reviews
Superb accommodation, beautifully refurbished in a spectacular, tranquil location. If you are looking for somewhere to relax, recharge and get out and about to places where nature has not been rearranged very little, look no further than Braes of Foss.
    Miss Stansbie - September 2018
The Braes of Foss is in an absolutely beautiful location, on a working sheep farm. Although it feels wonderfully remote, it was just a quick drive either way to Aberfeldy or Kinloch Rannoch for shopping, art galleries and afternoon tea. The owner had provided us with a fantastic list of things to do and see locally, so there was plenty to keep us busy. The house itself is deceptively large and was more than big enough for the 8 of us. Two wood-burning stoves kept us cosy while it snowed outside and we sat and watched the beautiful view for hours. Outside, there are plenty of accessible fields and streams, which our two small children really enjoyed. Herds of sheep and deer were to be seen all around the house, and we had a regular wild hare visitor who seemed to enjoy the foliage in the garden too. A 5 minute walk from the house is the start of the East side walk up Schiehallion. Although it was snowing quite heavily while we were there, we did attempt to walk a little way up the mountain and found the path very easy and well maintained. The house itself looks like it has been renovated very recently - it is very well done up and maintained. All appliances, heating, bath/showers worked perfectly. We had dinner at the Ailean Chraggan Hotel in Weem, on the way to Aberfeldy, and I can highly recommend their specialty fish restaurant. Wonderful service and delicious food. All in all, a wonderful holiday had, and we felt very lucky to have found such a wonderful house in such a perfect location. I would highly recommend it to anyone.
