Bramble Lodge offers extremely comfortable yet traditional self catering holiday accommodation.

This holiday lodge is part of Applecross House and can be rented separately or with Faoilinn as a larger property with an interconnecting passage.

With wonderful views from around the estate of the Cuillin Mountains of Skye and the hills of Raasay, the lodge is set in an extremely attractive area making it an ideal Scottish holiday location, in the heart of Ross-shire.

The estate pedigree Highland cattle can be found grazing in fields around the lodge and wild deer are often spotted close by.

    Bramble Lodge reviews
Really beautiful setting and very comfortable accommodation. We had great weather, so made the holiday idyllic! Would have liked to have had table and chairs for sitting outside and wifi only worked in part of the cottage.
    Mrs Burrows - June 2018
Bramble Lodge was a great location for our holiday with friends and family. It was fantastic to see highland cattle and deer in the fields outside and to be able to stroll along the river and into the hills. Nice easy walk to the pub and Walled Garden restaurant. Comfortable cottage with lots of space for us all.
    Mr Gibbon - April 2018
Wonderful situated, fantastic kitchen, very nice bedrooms. Furniture in living room a bit worn out.
    Mr Iversen - April 2018
The cottage is everything you could possibly want and more. The setting is delightful and the cottage itself well appointed, cozy and home from home. Applecross is a wonderful area, the Inn serves food that deserves a Michelin Star and the wild life is in abundance. The cottage stay enhanced the natural beauty of the area.
    Ms Morrison - September 2017

    Mr Scroggie - September 2017
Bramble lodge was a real pleasure to stay in. The Rayburn made it. With a lovely warmth and great cooking and the clothes dried very quickly. The layout of the bedrooms was perfect for our family group and the location was second to none. Amazing walks from the doorstep and the walled garden a stones throw away. We were with a group who stayed at Clachan and a few times they came to us to eat. With the two dining rooms all seventeen of us fit in easily and we were not tripping over each other. Small on the outside but deceptively big on the inside this is a real tardis of a lodge.
    Mrs Davison - August 2017
We stayed at Bramble Lodge for 2 weeks and were really happy with the accommodation. The AGA in the kitchen was fabulous as was the wood burning stove in the living room, perfect to come back to after a long walk. There were 8 of us at one point staying there and none of us felt under each others feet, as the Lodge is rather large and airy but at the same time had a real cosiness about it. We will definitely be re-booking for another holiday.
    Miss Southworth - July 2017
We are regular visitors to Applecross and veterans of 8 different rental properties within 2 miles of the pub. Bramble is by far rather most impressive however our initial impressions were diluted by some niggling issues which should be easy to rectify. Firstly all of the toilets in the property are not fixed properly to the wall/floor and in varying degrees wobble and make noises when sat on. Secondly the wifi signal in the building is unusable from many parts of the property. I am acutely aware of the efforts made by the community to improve the quality of the Broadband service however most of my issue here are linked with the wifi signal in parts of the building. I suspect this is due to the distances from the router and the thickness of the walls. All of this could be easily fixed with the installation of a couple of wifi extenders which would cost no more than £50 and 15 mins to install. Thirdly, the property accepts dog but limits their presence to the kitchen area. This is virually impossible to achieve given that the door to the Dining Room does not close properly and could get damaged by pawing by a pet distressed by the separation. We were only able to achieve this as, being responsible dog owners, we always carry a portable stair gate. Providing a similar item as a fixture in the property would be beneficial for all. Finally i genuinely feel that imposing a charge for the use of electricity is petty and unreasonable. I have not experienced this in any other property. I am also concerned in this respect, that this charge is advertised on your website in a way that suggests the charge is linked to the use of the storage heating. We did not use the storage heating however where still required to complete a meter reading. I strongly suggest you shopuld review this policy. Despite all of the above comments Bramble is a fabulous property and i would happily rent it again. It is just a shame that the above items were niggles that could easily be avoided.
Owners Response: "Many thanks for your very constructive review. We are sorry that you experienced these issues - we do have a person on site who can deal with any maintenance issues and would have been happy to do so if you had just let him know. The Applecross area does have problems from time to time with wifi signals and strengths but we will look at installing extenders as you suggest. The Trust has to take a consistent line on having dogs in the properties and although most dog owners are considerate we have had occasions where it has been apparent that dogs have been allowed on beds. We have to cater for both dog owners and non owners. Dog hairs on soft furnishings are difficult to remove and put considerable pressure on the housekeepers to achieve the changeover in time. The door between the kitchen and dining room has been adjusted to remain closed and we do have a child gate available which is provided if needed. We are reviewing the policy of charging for electricity and have taken your comments on board. The charges are not linked exclusively to the storage heaters and are based entirely on meter readings on arrival and departure. Feedback is always appreciated and we are delighted that you enjoyed staying in Bramble and hope that you will return in future."
    Mr Woolley - July 2017
A great house in an excellent location - handy for both Potting Shed and Applecross Inn.
    Mrs Weir - July 2017
We've been going to Applecross for around 15 years and just love it! From the accommodation to the people, the scenery, the walks and of course the Inn, we will be back again next year.
    Ms Prager - December 2016
We loved bramble cottage cosy , warm comfortable & clean , home from home Wonderful setting , made special by the highland cattle in the park & the deer in the garden Great to have the walled garden tea room & restaurant in the grounds & we had Faoilinn cottage through the adjoining door for the other 4 of our party. The pub & shop excellent with all we needed.
    Miss Stammers - May 2016
Our family stays at Bramble most years - sometimes twice a year. We really cannot spend too much time here. The cottage feels spacious and is well equipped. The kitchen is great with a table that we can all fit round without bumping elbows. The oil fired range is a huge boon in the colder months and is excellent for baking bread! The main draws of Applecross are the landscape and people. Mike Summers (Estate Maintenance and Farm) is consistently helpful and a nice guy. The myriad beaches generally seemed untouched by human hands and are not to be bettered anywhere. The Walled Garden is a lovely place to sit and chill and eat scones although the bathroom scales could tell that we had been taking full advantage of the Cafe. We will return to Bramble, the Walled Garden and Applecross again and again.
    Mr Richards - April 2016
    All excellent
    Mrs Carrington - August 2015
We really enjoyed our time at Applecross. Bramble Lodge and the whole estate was great, especially the Walled Garden, tree house and friendly horses. Applecross Inn as lovely as usual and weather unbelievably good. Go to Sand and Collie Ghillie for best beaches in Europe (weather permitting).
    Mr Thompson - August 2014
My husband and I have spent time at the Applecross Trust since 1994 , sometimes twice in one year. He died in 2010 and with the exception of that year and 2011 my family, friends and I have spent a month at Bramble and or Faiolllin and hope to do so in the future. Mike Summers and his wife Helen are such an asset to our visits and they have visited over here in the past. This really encompasses my feelings - thank you
    Mrs Ashby - July 2014
Lovely large property, beautifully clean and well equipped.
    Mrs Hazon - October 2013
Excellent accommodation. Beautiful cottage and well equipped. Only minor problem was no oven gloves provided in the kitchen.
    Miss Meikle - May 2012
Clean and convenient - in general we were all well satisfied with Bramble Cottage
    Mr Hill - May 2012
Bramble Lodge is a wonderful property, spacious and comfortable. Situated in the Applecross Estate makes it even more attractive . Staying there with my family was just heavenly.
    Mrs Jeffray - April 2012
We had a good visit and the property was very good. We had taken dogs and had not been informed that there was a small charge for this, but this was sorted with staff there. We would be happy to stay there again.
Owners Response: "From Cottages & Castles: We are glad that you managed to sort this out with the estate. As per our web booking form dogs should be entered at the time of booking and the relevant charge is then added to the booking. Had this been done the additional change would have been added and the estate informed."
    Mrs Hill - March 2012
Very spacious, comfortable and quiet. The only draw back was the extra cost of the electricity which although we kept it as tight as we could still cost us more that we expected for five days. Dispite this I would certainly stay here again.
    Mr Mcpherson - February 2012
Loved staying In Bramble cottage very warm and comfortable. Great for large groups managed to seat 17 round the table as we hired Clachan Manse & Faolinn as well.
    Miss Goth - December 2011
    Excellent property with great facilities
    Mr Dickinson - August 2011
Would be 5 star but for the hard bed. Really well appointed. Lovely to be located on an active stalking estate.
    Mr Carrington - August 2011
We had a wonderful week in Bramble Lodge. It was very spacious and comfortable, perfect for the family get together we planned. The Rayburn in the kitchen meant there was always a cosy welcome for us after a long walk. The cottage is perfectly placed for trips to the pub or the walled garden. We will definately be back for more!
    Mrs Jupe - April 2011
We have stayed many times in Faoilinn. This time we rented both Bramble and Faoilinn for a larger party and it worked a treat. Both houses were warm and comfortable, spacious and with excellent provision for food storage and cooking. Mike Summers is unfailingly helpful. The following comment is appropriate to Faoilinn rather than Bramble - the double bed which has replaced two single beds is too narrow.
    Lady Brooksbank - October 2010
