Broombank Cottage nestles in the lovely community of Newlands next to the historic and moody Culloden Moor and just 5 miles from the City of Inverness in the Scottish Highlands. Constructed in 2010, externally its design is traditional and its hand pointed stone is most handsome. The cottage is bright, spacious and has all conveniences needed for modern living.

The Highlands are for the young and old alike with activities to suit all and after a day out, you will look forward to returning to this lovely cottage where you can relax in front of the log burner. When summer comes, you will take advantage of the decking where you can watch the world go by and enjoy the views from the front garden or summer evening al fresco dining; what could be nicer?

    Broombank reviews
    We had a fantastic stay at Broombank with our 2 young kids. The owner met us as we arrived and showed us around. The cottage is well equipped for younger guests with a cot, high chair and stair gates which made our packing a lot easier. Due to the time of year we spent most of the afternoons indoors. This wasn’t a problem as there was plenty of space for us to play about and a good central heating system kept us warm despite the snow falling outside! The location is great for exploring local attractions. Culloden battlefield and the Clava cairns were excellent and Inverness was only a short drive away and had plenty to offer for the kids. For runners, there was also plenty of km’s of nice forest trails to explore right from the doorstep too! Hopefully we will be back at Broombank in the future

    What a lovely cottage this is! Spacious, clean and cosy. Such an amazing location! Not only a beautiful view from the porch (!) but also ideal for exploring the Highlands and the beautiful coast. E.g. Culloden Battlefield is only a few minutes by car. Everything you need for a fantastic stay! What makes it even more special are Carolyn and Donald. The gave us a very warm welcome, were very friendly and gave us great tips on what to see. We hope to return someday!

    First time we have booked a house/cottage to stay in,but now won't be the last! Broombank was immaturely clean+had everything we could possibly need. Very welcoming eggs+milk in fridge on arrival+the lovely owners were even shovelling snow from our pathway one morning-very thoughtful.

    We had a fantastic time at Broombank-the cottage was superb and of a very high standard. It was very spacious and well equipped-we all loved it, including our kids who are aged 6 and 9. It was very quiet and peaceful and the owners were lovely. We were very well positioned for travelling to Loch Ness, Aviemore, Inverness and Nairn. As a family we particularly enjoyed going up Cairngorm on the train, visiting Loch Ness, watching the dolphins and seals in the Moray Firth, and Landmark Forest Adventure Park. We haven't ever been anywhere twice but we are seriously considering coming back here! A lovely holiday!

    We had a great week ,the cottage had everything we required and more. There is lots to do and see in the area with the Cairngorms being less than an hour away and dolphins and ospreys can been seen at Spey Bay.

    Cottages & Castles Ltd. (acting as agents for property owners) provides a guarantee for tenants who have to cancel their holiday at a cottage.

    If it is necessary to cancel your holiday, for any of the reasons A 1-5 below, you may do so at any time up until the close of business on the last working day before your tenancy commences and we will refund your balance. Your deposit is not refundable. If you have made a late booking and paid in full you will receive your payment minus the normal deposit sum (usually 30%).

    There is no charge for this holiday protection – it is included in the cost of your holiday. Please note that the protection does not apply to holidays in our properties with codes beginning with P (usually castles, mansions and lodges).

    Deposits may be transferred to a different date for a holiday at the same property within 12 months of the original holiday date, subject to availability, but not, however, for a different property. If the new booking is at a higher rate the tenant must pay the extra cost. No refund will be made if the new date is at a lower rate.

    A:
    1. Death, accidental bodily injury, or illness (excluding pre-existing or chronic illness/conditions, or illness arising through epidemics or pandemics)
    a) the Proposer and/or persons with whom he/she has arranged to travel.
    b) any close relative or business associate of the Proposer or of any person with whom he/she has arranged to travel or arranged to meet at the specified holiday establishment. We will require appropriate documentary evidence of illness or bodily injury from a registered medical practitioner. This evidence must state that the Proposer is unfit to travel.

    2. Jury service, witness call or unemployment through redundancy of the Proposer after the date of booking and prior to the commencement date of the holiday.

    3. Fire or theft which is the subject of an insurance claim at the Insured’s main residence or business premises within seven days before commencement of the holiday.

    4. Occupational postings not contemplated at the time the holiday is booked.

    5. Cancellation or curtailment of scheduled transport services due to strikes, riots or civil commotion, but limited to the cost of alternative transport up to £50 per person for the outward journey only.

    But not, however:

    B:
    1. Disinclination to travel.

    2. Failure of public or private transport.

    3. Suicide, attempted suicide, insanity, the influence of intoxicating liquor or the effect of drugs not taken in accordance with treatment prescribed and directed by a qualified medical practitioner or booking a holiday which is or would be against the advice of a registered medical practitioner.

    4. Pregnancy unless problems occur which prevent the person travelling. A  verification must be signed by a registered medical practitioner to this effect

    5. Any loss which is otherwise insured.

    6. Holiday accommodation booked outside Great Britain, Northern Ireland, Isle of Man and the Channel Islands
