Spacious and engulfed in light, Cauldhame House is welcoming and well equipped for parties of all sizes. On the ground floor, the large dining kitchen is modern and very user friendly, where care and attention has been given to function and style. A four oven Aga, induction hob and double electric oven, loads of worktop space & two dishwashers makes this a cook’s delight. The large kitchen table ensures lots of time will be enjoyed in this room. An elegant dining room, with open fire, is perfect for more formal dining, whilst a west facing conservatory is ideal for enjoying the sunset and views over the hill. A games room with full sized snooker table is situated off the kitchen. Upstairs the large drawing room has windows looking out to the east and west sides of the house, taking in the views of the gardens and hills beyond and ensuring the room is flooded with light, which together with comfy sofas and a wood burning stove, make this a delightful space to enjoy social gatherings. The seven comfortable bedrooms and four bathrooms ensure a very relaxing stay at Cauldhame.

Its perfect seclusion and rural position belie the fact that Cauldhame House is within easy reach of some of Scotland’s most iconic sights and an ideal base for touring Scotland. Only 6 miles from Stirling and its imposing castle perched above the City, Cauldhame is also well placed for a day trip to Edinburgh or Glasgow (both approx 30 miles away). The scenery of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs are a nice trip within easy distance or guests can head north through beautiful Perthshire and beyond to Inverness, only a 2.5 hour drive. Staying closer to home there is plenty for guests to do, ranging from biking and hillwalking to visiting Blair Drummond Safari Park, some of the many historical sites and buildings, or perhaps a tour of a local distillery. Golfers can enjoy the local courses at Dunblane and Bridge of Allan or the world famous Gleneagles course is only 15 minutes drive away. There are also fishing and countryside sports which can be arranged locally.

Also available to book with the main house or separately are Stable Cottage and Barn Cottage.

    Cauldhame House reviews
This house was a perfect location to accommodate our big group, consisting of four families, with ample space and facilities. There were no issues with the temperature of the house or hot water. The kitchen is the heart of the house and was big for us to all get together (even including 2 dishwashers), and includes all those small useful items such as clingfilm and cooking oil. It was also great to have other communal areas, such as the snooker and the lounge on the first floor. This layout works really well for families holidaying together, even to the extent that the bed arrangement on the top floor was an ideal to put all the kids! The managers of the estate live onsite and were very helpful in dealing with our enquiries and recommending a good restaurant. The real star of the show is the surroundings and the wildlife (including rabbits, red squirrels and plump pheasants). What you can't see from the photos is that the house sits high up in the Sheriffmuir hills, giving spectacular views of the valley and sunset (particularly from the lounge on the first floor). We all loved the fact that the house sits in a peaceful and remote location, yet is only minutes away from the convenience of a major town and motorway network.

It is a very beautiful location to stay with a large group. The Welcome is warmly and everything is well explained by the property manager. No matter what you wish, it’s all around the cottage. History close, Dunblane in perfect distance to buy your stuff and wildlife and silence all around the house. Perfect for a nice and quite holiday and if you are on the road the whole day you will be much lucky to have a nice ambiente and billiard room to have an outstanding evening program. All in all ... no wishes left open.

Loved our time at Cauldhame. We found the area beautiful, and so quiet and peaceful. The property was well-equipped, and the property manager was always available when we had questions or issues. It is well situated, just a few miles from lovely Dunblane, with Stirling and Doune nearby, and so many things to see and do. We even took a day and drove to Glencoe and back, which was only about 5 hours. Well worth the drive!! Wish we could have stayed longer. Our entire family loved the house and area. Wish we had had more time to explore Sheriffmuir, which is on the fringe of the estate. History is accessible everywhere! Only have one suggestion - would love to have more than one television in the house, as the men wanted to watch sport and the ladies did not! LOL. An additional TV in the conservatory would be fabulous, as we did tend to want to spend time there. Thank you for a fantastic week - definitely would recommend.

Superb house for family/friends get together. Snooker room a hit with all ages & plenty of space for all . Comfortable & clean. Homemade bread, marmalade & fresh eggs a bonus. Thankyou Bev.
    Mr Davidson - April 2018
We were there with a group of 11 people. The house is big, nice and very well mantained. The kitchen is fully equipped, the living room upstairs is big and beautifiull. Everything was perfect. Also the service we received from Beverly, that was always available to help us with anything. The area is very nice , but definetively, not for urban lovers. It is a peacefull site in the middle of a moor, but it is quite close (10 minute by car ) to Dunblane where you have supermarkets and all the services. You can use also the online services of Tesco, they bring your purchase to the house very efficiently.

This was my second trip to Cauldhame House - I certainly hope to make a third. The house is in excellent condition, set in spectacular grounds and is close enough to civilization for all manner of activities while maintaining a real sense of isolation. We had a fantastic long weekend without any problems. Would highly recommend.
    Mr Pugh - September 2016
The house was very nice. We all enjoyed the spacious living area, the Aga oven and the full size snooker table. The walks around the house were nice and provided some good views of the countryside. The views from the house itself were very nice and somewhat spectacular during the sunsets. The close availability of the Sherrifmuir Inn was nice for a quick drink or a fantastic meal. Dunblane was easily reached in 10 minutes by car for other dining options and groceries. There were only two reasons why we did not give the house 5 stars. The driveway on the approach to the house has some significant parts of it washed away. If you have a high clearance car, this is not an issue, but can be a very slow go for a regular car. We were warned about this in advance, but it was worse than expected. The other issue was the heating of the house. Some of the group like it because they preferred the cooler environment but it did appear as if the heating did not come on once during our stay even though it appeared to drop below the setting on the thermostat.

I booked Cauldhame House to spend a week with friends as part of my 60th birthday celebrations. I wanted to go somewhere quiet and peaceful but close to areas of interest. We weren't disappointed. The location is fabulous with wonderful views from the house and each day we were visited by red squirrels and dozens of young pheasants who provided great entertainment. Dunblane is just a short drive away (although, unfortunately, for the week we were there the road was closed for roadworks so we explored different country roads!) the house itself is beautiful and while, in a way, it is quite grand, it was also very homely and comfortable. The house is very well equipped and we wanted for nothing. We were treated to Bev's home made bread and marmalade as well as fresh laid eggs and some other basics to get us started. Luxury toiletries are provided (I now love Arran Aromatics!) and the towels and bed linens are all of high quality. There are so many places within easy reach of Cauldhame but, actually, we were so glad that we had factored in time to spend just enjoying the house and surrounding area. It is far too nice to use just as a base or somewhere to sleep! Bev was particularly helpful in providing advice in the lead up to our trip and was on hand if we had needed anything during our stay. The local pub, the Sherriffmuir Inn, is friendly and welcoming and serves great food. We were amazed that somewhere so remote gets so full most nights - would recommend booking - but lots of people from nearby towns seem to go there. Overall, we loved everything about our stay at Cauldhame and are already thinking about when we can next go there!
    Mrs Boulter - July 2016
It was in a wonderful location, brilliant house and the owners were really nice and helpful but left us to do our thing. Would definitely recommend and we will be going back again.
    Mr Blackman - July 2016
Perfect accommodation for our whole family to get together. Master suite and drawing room provided a great, peaceful getaway from the noise and bustle of our 5 small grandchildren! They loved the playroom. Snooker room great addition for the "boys". Well equipped, large kitchen. Lovely grounds and absolutely stunning views. Lots of things for all age groups to do in the area - historic sites, animal parks, bird watching and great walks and cycle rides without going too far. The children thoroughly enjoyed a visit to Perth Leisure Pool on the only rainy/snowy day we had.
    Mrs Shannon - April 2016
We had a fantastic time staying here - the house is amazing and Bev was very helpful. Would definitely recommend!
    Mrs Cruickshank - March 2016
This is the perfect venue for an extended family holiday; warm and welcoming (the house and the caretakers), spacious and beautifully appointed, every facility provided, wi-fi,TV, games, books, maps, brochures. We would go back any time, and heartily recommend Cauldhame.
    Rev Lunan - October 2015
Cosy comfortable public rooms. Bedrooms spacious and stylish but comfortable. Lovely grounds. Warm welcome . Games room a bonus . Sheriffmuir Inn closeby served walkers who had forgotten money !
    Mrs Green - September 2015
We all enjoyed our stay, the house and grounds. The trout fishing was a particular surprise and as a new fly fisherman was delighted to catch two rainbow trout. The ponds, however, require clearing to make it an excellent addition to any future guest. Was surprised to be told tat the two cottages were no included in our rental as the description indicates that these are included. Did not spoil stay but a little disappointed. Managers of the property were a delight and should be congratulated on there service whilst we were there. Frequented a number of pubs etc the best of which was the church house. The local pub is good and convenient but the food is expensive and adequate. Wildlife abundant for the keen enthusiast. Regards Allan stockwin
