    Corrydon Lodge reviews
The house was lovely and clean and the welcome pack much appreciated. On the down side:- we had to move the room frangrances and put them in a cupboard - they were in all rooms and quite over powering. I was quite sad that none of the windows opened as we are fresh air freaks! It would have been lovely to hear the river lulling us off to sleep at night! There was some black mould and damp on the ceiling in the master bathroom - to have some air circulating in there would help stop that occurring (a vent or open a window) Good points - The location is beautiful The house decor is quite simple and suits the period of the house. The kitchen equipment was more than ample and well thought out! Lots of dvds available for those that want them A great range of books too It was a comfortable home from home. We enjoyed the Pitlochry theatre and thoroughly recommend it. The strathspey railway afternoon tea on a steam train was lovely. We thoroughly recommend cottages and castles as well as Corrydon Lodge
    Ms Woollard - July 2019
Lovely house on the river bank near Glen Shee. Great kitchen, lovely bedrooms, great snug for kids and grown up line for us adults. There was no snow this year, but we found nearby walks, wood work course, outdoor survival course, nature trail and go karting.
    Mr Tookey - February 2019
Very warm and roomy house for get togethers. Sitting room and dining room superb.
    Mr Swanson - October 2018
An excellent location for our group of seven, rather elderly “Summer Wine Munroists” to bag eleven Munros in our week. This was all helped by beautiful weather. The facilities at Corrydon Lodge are second to none our only quibble would be the lack of a pub within 200 yards, but you can’t have everything. We would definitely come again
    Mr Jones - May 2018
Amazing lodge. Very spacious. Great facilities and very close to the Ski Centre. Will definitely use again and again.
    Mr Black - February 2018
Lodge was very nice it has a beautiful setting and not too far from the village. Lovely and spacious and was well equipped with everything we needed. However a couple of things could be improved. Windows were very dirty and old therefore the master bedroom smelled of a very strong damp smell. The balcony rail that goes along the hall landing was starting to come away which was very dangerous with the kids. We nearly had our 6 year old fall down full flight of stairs. The snug room ceiling had a water leak! my dads bed was soaked through. The cookers oven was not working. I called the owner and her service was fantastic! New cooker was put in within a couple of hours. We would certainly return if these things could be improved on. The family as whole had a nice time, my main greivence was my son could have had an accident with the stairs.
Owners Response: "Thank you for letting us know about the rail in the hallway! We did not know about that and it has been repaired now. Also did not know about the water leak. I've asked our handyman to investigate. As the master bedroom is above the snug, I suspect that the water leak and the damp smell are linked. Thank you for letting us know. Glad we could get the cooker sorted out quickly for you - the stars were aligned on that one as the supplier had one in stock and our handyman was able to collect and install the same day - whew! Thank you for taking the time to let us know about the other problems - we often only know about an issue when a guest tells us!"
    Miss Boyd - October 2017
This is a well equipped cottage with comfortable rooms and in a very convenient location. Traffic is not heavy on the A93 but because of the bend in the road to the N of the house it's best to be cautious exiting the front gate. It's a shame the back door lock stuck so we had to break a window to get in on day one. The party believes that the lock needs replacing. It stuck again on another occasion but we managed to "wiggle" it to work.
    Mr Smith - October 2017
We decided to book Corrydon Lodge because it was the ancestral home of some of our group of friends. It was the perfect place to serve as out home base as we explored the Highlands. The house it very comfortable and roomy and is furnished perfectly. We especially loved the spacious parlor, dining room & kitchen. The bedrooms were well furnished and comfortable. The house has a friendly spirit in a beautiful setting.
    Mr Mcconnell - September 2017
Great setting for exploring the beautiful countryside - Glenshee, Braemar, Glen Isla and Royal Deeside. The house is spacious and homely with lots of space for 9 of us - excellent log fire and dining room. Recommend dinner at the Glen Isla Hotel
    Mr Mcleish - December 2016
We have stayed a few times before, this lodge is very well equipped 2 bathrooms Large kitchen & Dinning area. Plenty of room for everybody to have their own space. The Turn in to the property is the only down side as this is very close to a corner so you need to be careful. Food at The Bridge of Cally & The Strathardle Hotel both about a 15minute drive away is very good.
    Mr Tilley - September 2016
This was our second Easter at Corrydon Lodge and we loved it every bit as much as before. The house is large and comfortable with gorgeous views at the back over the hills to the mountains beyond. You can walk straight out of the door to them, or drive a couple of miles up to Glenshee for fabulous hikes further afield.
    Mrs Davies - March 2016
Love the place. Sorry a couple of us were late leaving. Traumatic morning. Thank you again for the lovely setting. Ps. Fridge doesn't shut properly in the kitchen
    Ms Mudge - February 2016
This was our third visit to Corrydon Lodge and as always we loved every moment of our stay. For those who love the great outdoors as we do it is a great location for hiking. Good walks during the day then coming home to make delicious meals in the well equipped and spacious kitchen whilst enjoying a few beers/glasses of wine before retiring the lounge to enjoy a roaring fire - logs in abundance in the shed! We will be booking this place again :)
    Mrs Hicks - November 2015
Corrydon Lodge was absolutely amazing. I spent the weekend there with my mum, my partner, his mum and sister and a few friends and celebrated by 30th birthday. We all had a lovely time and enjoyed staying there. The only thing I would like to add is that I think it should be possible to open a window in the kitchen. While we were there, cooking for 9 people was quite a task because the back door had to stay open in order to create a draft as I don't think the extractor hood worked very well. Other than that I thought the place was wonderful. We would have enjoyed better weather but having lived in Scotland for almost 10 years,I know what to expect.
    Mrs Pariyar - April 2015
This is our second stay. Cannot fault it. Back next year hopefully
    Ms Mudge - February 2015
Every thing in the lodge worked well for us as we were fishing almost next to the Lodge. Would also work well for walkers & even skiers. Plenty of room with the 2 bathrooms & large kitchen & dinning table etc. Only down side to this property is the driveway entrance which is very close to a sharp bend.
    Mr Tilley - September 2014
We love the house and it worked perfectly for us. We did a lot of shooting, stalking, and fishing, and it was perfect for that. A couple of minor things about the house that did not work so well: The shower had no hot water The fridge and freezer are NOWHERE NEAR big enough for a team of 10 for a week, let alone 2 weeks, and it is the kind of location where you certainly don't want to have to pop to the shops to top up. We had booked a Sainsbury delivery, and suddenly realised that there was no way to get it into the fridge or freezer. Luckily we found access to another fridge, but others would not have that. The hoover does not work.
Mr Mackenzie Smith - August 2014
The location of Corrydon Lodge is in the heart of the Glenshee area with easy access to the surrounding countryside and villages. The house itself is beautifully appointed and easily accommodates ten adults in comfort. Our party of ten were quite entranced with the location and house itself. I would recommend it to all the categories indicated below apart from families with very young children as the gate leading to the road does not fully shut, and due to the access to the river behind the house.
    Mr Lindsay - August 2014
Our family loved this charming, comfortable house. It has the feel of someone's home rather than a holiday rental. While it's quite near the road this doesn't matter because it backs onto beautiful views of the river and hills. Fabulous walking, munros, straight out of the door.
    Mrs Davies - April 2014
Very very impressed. There were no cutting corners. Everything was there. The girls even made apple pie and custard. It was so homely. Limitless wood to burn, games in front of the fire and we all just felt at home. We had a little problem with the shower but told Chris not to fret, they were straight round to fix it!!! Thank you so much, it was a family weekend and your property made it very special. The kids didn't watch TV and hardly connected to the internet! Jane
    Ms Mudge - March 2014
Really enjoyed ourselves, especially the grandkids who had great fun playing hide and seek in the house. The log fire was a lovely novelty for them too. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you would possibly need although I was disappointed no one in the clan used the breadmaker. All in all a delightful place in a beautiful location and I would have no hesitation recommending a stay here.
    Mr Braid - July 2013
Corrydon Lodge is basically a lovely, comfortable, well appointed house in a great location. It was easily large enough to accommodate our group of two families with six children, without feeling as if we were falling over each other. The garden, river and surrounding fields and hills gave the kids lots to do in spite of their initial 'this is the worst holiday house ever' reaction to the seeming remoteness of the house (the good WiFi connection may have mollified them somewhat...). There are lots of lovely touches to the house and its contents. It really feels comfortable and cosy. It is very well placed for day trips and activities without losing the feeling of really being 'away from it all'. In short Corrydon Lodge is the best holiday house we've been to in ages and represents fantastic value for money. It would suit all sorts of age groups and holiday types.
    Mr Cathcart - April 2013
very clean, lovely and cosy with the log fire, breathtaking views, top class beds and linen.
    Ms Horner - February 2013
Lovely roomy Lodge good size bedrooms, TV in main big bedroom had no aerial conection & driveway on to main road needs special care as on a corner but overall very good accomodation. Location ideal for Walkers & pos small shooting parties. 3 Good eating places within 20 minutes drive time. We may well book this again for next September get away. We will decide over christmas & New Year and let you know.
    Mr Tilley - September 2012
A lovely, well-equipped lodge with bags of character in a very beautiful setting. Would highly recommend the Sampan Indian restaurant in Blairgowrie - one of the best Indian meals I've ever had. Cargill's Bistro is also very good. Avoid the Spittal of Glenshee Hotel: poor service and very run down.
    Dr Bonnyman - May 2012
Great house, have been there 5 or 6 times now. We love it. One and only criticism is that it needs a bigger tv!
    Mr Mellor - October 2011
We had a great time - the cottage was very well equipped and very comfortable. We had a great time and will definitly be back. A few minor comments: 1. It would benefit from a bigger or additional fridge/freezer, considering it sleeps ten and especially considering the lack of nearby shops; 2. During heavy rain the ceiling in the main bedroom leaks above the mantelpiece (maybe due to blocked drains?); 3. None of the windows open, which was slightly annoying.
Owners Response: "Thank you for your review, I am glad you had a good holiday. I have had the gutters checked and one was block so this is now fixed. The windows have a knack to them but I will work on getting them to open more smoothly. The fridge is on the list of improvements."
    Mr Hammond - September 2011
A very comforatble lodge and well supplied. A rather dangerous approach to house as the entrance/exit is on a road bend. Well located and very pleasant Had difficulty opening bedroom windows as the sashes have been painted and cannot move
    Mr Pocock - July 2011
Plus - Really stunning location and beautiful house. Our jaws dropped when we walked in and realised it was ours for two weeks the Internet does not do it justice. Feel totally relaxed and can't wait to return absolutely lovely. The house and garden are amazing. Minus - TVs are small we didn't mind as we didn't watch much and no DVDs were provided, again not really an issue but it was advertised. Would help if hob was labelled clearer. Summary - one of the best holidays we've ever had really loved it. Cosy comfy characterful house in gorgeous setting can't wait to return. Everyone we spoke to was lovely too thanks.
    Mrs Fenly - April 2011
