Perfectly placed to enjoy the surrounding Perthshire countryside, this former shooting lodge has a delightful traditional yet modern feel throughout, perfect for a family gathering or friendship group getaway.

Located in the heart of Perthshire on the edge of the Cairngorms National Park, this Victorian shooting lodge is the perfect base for larger groups looking to explore the stunning Scottish countryside. With all the grace and charm of a bygone era, this four-bedroom home can comfortably accommodate ten people and two dogs. With endless activities and adventures to be had on the doorstep, this is the ideal choice for friends and family looking to spend some quality time together and take a break from the hustle and bustle of modern life.

 

With beautiful furnishings and tasteful decor throughout, the cottage has a welcoming home-from-home feel, whether you’re curling up with a book or enjoying some family time together. Well-proportioned rooms and wood finishes bring character, while still retaining a comfortable and relaxing feel.

 

The spacious sitting room enjoys lovely views over Shee Water, while stripped pine floors and snuggly sofas make it a welcome spot to wind down after a busy day of exploring. Enjoy a wee dram together around the open fire as you share stories and watch the sun set over the hills. Younger members of the family will enjoy the separate TV room, which also has a sofa bed. Guests can choose between the more formal dining room for meals or take a relaxed approach by gathering around the table in the kitchen area, or even outside. You’ll find everything you need in the well-equipped kitchen, whether you’re rustling up breakfast or preparing a hearty dinner at the end of the day. A handy boot room on this level is also a welcome addition for storing those muddy boots and outdoor gear.

 

When it’s time to rest weary heads, you’ll find the stylish bedrooms a welcoming space for a restful night’s sleep. There are four to be found on the first floor, along with the main bathroom, all featuring traditional touches which add to their character. Guests in the en-suite master bedroom will enjoy waking up to beautiful views across the river to the mountains beyond.

 

Heading outside, the lodge is located within 1.5 acres of its own private grounds on the banks of the River Shee, offering plenty of space to play or simply sit and relax. Fire up the BBQ on those warmer evenings, before settling back with a glass of wine to soak up the tranquil atmosphere and take in the stunning views of the Grampian Mountains. There is also ample parking.

Golf enthusiasts, pack your clubs and take to the green at The Blairgowrie Golf Club, 17.5 miles from home, tackle the Lansdowne course which is home the Scottish Mid-Amateur Championship. Cairngorms National Park is home to many fantastic vantage points, hiking spots and trails for strolling. As you explore the park keep your eyes peeled for magnificent wildlife including the traditional Scottish twinflower, rare Scottish wildcat, capercaillie, red squirrels and golden eagles amongst an abundance of others! Adrenaline junkies unite and make the 25.5 mile journey to the Highland Fling Bungee centre. Those more fearful guests can admire the stunning views of the River Garry in the Pass of Killiecrankie.

Really clean & well equipped kitchen (although a little too cluttered in the kitchen so had to move things to put our shopping away) Had a great week house lovely & owners easy to contact.

Spacious beautiful house with wonderful views which feels genuine and peaceful. Thick walls which make for excellent soundproofing. Lovely, large old house with loads of history. Plenty of room for large groups with a well equipped kitchen, multiple lounge and dining areas. Warm and welcoming on a cold damp Scottish evening with views over open farmland and river. The location is great for Balmoral and several other castles.

Me and my family stayed at this cottage for Christmas and it was lovely! We all enjoyed it and was even decorated for Christmas too. The place was clean and representation was amazing. The hosts are both lovely people too! Would recommend to go.

We enjoyed a lovely family holiday in a peaceful location. The house was well equipped and comfortable. A cosy log fire in the lounge made for relaxing evenings. We had plenty walks and fresh air and the family enjoyed hillwalking.

Really lovely property. Clearly a loved home. Well furnished and decorated with antiques. Location is perfect for hillwalking. Limited walking direct from house, but you can walk 100m down road and turn left onto Cataran trail and get onto hills beyond. Loch Beanie is tranquil and swimmable if you are hardy! I just paddled. We had a lovely holiday weekend thankyou so much!!! The house was gorgeous, well equipped and very clean. The garden and surrounding countryside are absolutely beautiful! Chris was incredibly friendly, kind and accommodating, would definitely recommend and would love to visit again in the future.

Large flexible and practical Victorian lodge property ideal for families/groups. Location between Braemar and Pitlochry on A93 good for exploring Deeside and Perthshire. Lovely big cottage with views of the surrounding farm land. The house is big but still feels cosy and has a lot of charm. The rooms are well spaced out ensuring privacy and the amenities were plentiful. We had a family holiday and all three generations had a great time.

Lovely cottage. We were a group of 8 and spent 5 nights in the cottages. Beautifully furnished with all the facilities required for a peaceful holiday in the Highlands. A comfortable cottage - great beds, quiet, well equipped. A wonderful view and log fire from living room. Really enjoyed our time there.
