This beautiful Victorian Lodge commands gorgeous views across Loch Rannoch to the impressive Schiehallion in the east and the famous Black Wood of Rannoch just across the water. Set amidst its own 21,000 acres Craiganour is a great example of what Scotland does best – fantastic landscape, endless outdoor opportunities, tradition and a warm welcome.

Inside this lovely old house benefits from a particularly high quality renovation undertaken in the last few years. There are 9 en suite (or own bathroom) bedrooms eight of which can be either king size or twin arrangement. The master bedroom takes your breath away with its space, views and sheer style. The rooms throughout are bright, light and spacious with a delightful ambience. This is not a house with tartan trophy stags at every turn; instead it has the same soft white walls, natural flooring, linen curtains and simple presentation throughout and there are lovely details like hand built wooden fixtures in the bathrooms and bedrooms. Wonderful antique furniture and comfortable seating bring warmth and invitation to the rooms but most of all it is the stunning views across lovely gardens, a croquet lawn and the loch that will draw the eye.

Rannoch is a particularly pretty part of Perthshire with ample opportunity for those who like to be busy. The lodge comes with 5 miles of bank fishing, perfect for a day trout fishing. Several famous beats on the River Tay are within an hour’s drive and other country sports are available in the locality, for instance clay pigeon shooting can be arranged on the estate by prior arrangement. Inside the lodge is well equipped with a family/games room with TV, board games, table tennis and a Grand piano. You can walk for miles whether on easy or more challenging paths and although the estate has no Munros there are several well-known hills offering spectacular views of the surrounding central Highlands. The small town of Aberfeldy has good local shops and restaurants and nearby Kinloch Rannoch has a local village shop and cafe. Perth with all facilities is less than an hour and a half away.

Further up the strath is Rannoch Station and Moor. From here you can catch a train or sleeper as far as London’s Euston Station! Alternatively take a trip north and enjoy a lunch at Corrour station before returning home. This is a wonderful place to escape to but you can be reassured that you will return home at the end of a day exploring to the luxury of Craiganour.

The house is offered as a self-catering property but if you prefer a ‘kitchen’ holiday as well, then catering can be arranged. The lodge comes with a full-time housekeeper who is available daily should you wish. Firewood is provided with log baskets refilled each morning.

Great house for a family get together. Well equipped with everything we could have needed. Sonya was great always ready to help.
    Mrs Warmington - May 2019
The Lodge, it’s location and view and it’s amenities were superb, homely and welcoming with all we needed for my Dad’s Surprise 80th birthday. We could not have had a better time. The Lodge, however, was only a part of the success of the weekend. A special thank you and recognition goes out to Sonya the Lodge Manager. She could not have done enough for us including arranging a chef and home cooked dinner for the birthday party and receiving our online Asda shop for 14 people the day before we arrived. She was a star!
