    Croftmill Cottage reviews
The cottage was clean tidy and well equipped. It even had wifi and telephone signal for mobiles. Though far from shops this was not a bother and it became home for two weeks and a base from which to explore. The caretaker was brilliant and we can't say how much we all loved the cottage and the area. The peace and quite was such a relief from jobs where we are in constant demand from people.
    Mr Taylor - July 2019
Fantastic cottage and views, we have stayed here many times. The key holders Stan and Margaret are very good friends of ours and its always good to catch up. The cottage is always immaculate when we arrive, full credit to Margaret. We will be back next year.
    Mr Halls - March 2019
Wonderful location, delightful cottage , clean ,everything that you need Really the best cottage we have stayed in . Weather was not good but didn't bother us to much
    Mrs Bottomer - September 2018
We had a very pleasant stay in Croftmill Cottage, everything we needed was there and we also had the support of Mrs and Mr Riches. We visited many times Aberfeldy, about 20 miles from Amulree. We recommed 'the Watermill', a shop with al sorts of books and a nice tea/coffee shop in the cellar. There is also restaurant/pub 'The Fountain' which serves very nice foods and drinks. To shop we recommend Co-Op that stays open till late in the evening. We went often on walks behind the cottage, up the mountains and near the loch behind the house. We had beautiful weather, not so hot as in our home country Belguim at the time. The cottage is not so far from Edingburgh, Ben Nevis and ....
Mr Van Mulders - July 2018
Lovely little cottage in fantastic Scotland. I think you would get a lot more bookings if you updated the photos on the website. The old photos do not do the cottage justice. We have stayed there before and will stay there again next year.
    Mr Halls - March 2017
Beautiful location, views from every window are stunning. The cottage was spotlessly clean and everything was perfect. The lounge was exceptionally cosy with the addition of the wood burner, the kitchen had everything one would need to do their holiday cooking and the bedrooms spacious. I cannot fault one thing about this holiday and certainly would love to return. The fact that you have to boil the water to drink is no big hassle, and if you need botttled water the villages of Dunkeld or Abernethy are only minutes away. I would say that if you require a bigger supermarket, Aberfeldy has a large Co-op, along with a fantastic deli, a traditional baker and eating places. There is a large playground down near Wade's bridge, and also a cinema, if you want some entertainment of an evening. We love this area, and this cottage is a perfect base for exploring Highland Perthshire, and beyond. If you love walking, you'all be in your element!
    Ms Webb - February 2017
Immaculate condition and extremely clean and tidy. Spacious rooms with a lovely warm log burner in the lounge. The kitchen was amazing with a lovely range cooker suitable for all our cooking had everything we needed for our stay.Lovely furnishings, bedding and comfortable beds( never slept so well). Cottage has lovely homely feel - large boot and drying room was very good in wet weather. Peaceful surroundings ideal for walks and getting away from it all. Stan and Margaret at the gatehouse were amazing and were always there if we needed anything. Highly recommended and we are going to book again for next year :-))
    Mr Halls - March 2016
Croftmill cottage is in a truly peaceful location, with very little traffic on the minor road past the cottage, but is still within easy reach (by car) of Aberfeldy, Crieff and even Perth. There are many lovely walks in the vicinity of various difficulty - with the 'Rob Roy Way' passing the front door, there's lots to see without resorting to a car at all. Also there is admirably little light pollution so a great view of the stars can be seen (weather permitting, of course!) The cottage is comfortable and clean and is warm even in the winter months thanks to the oil-fired central heating and wood burning stove in the lounge. All in all, a great place to stay for people looking for peace and quiet with great country walks nearby.
    Mr Alcock - November 2015
This a lovely cottage in a fantastic setting. Everything we needed was here. Great walking on the doorstep. The only negative is it needs to be made clearer that the water has to be boiled. I never saw the notice until after I had a drink. There was shooting at the weekend which meant we were a bit restricted where we could go but it's a working estate so to be expected.
    Mrs Payne - October 2015
We thought the cottage was lovely. Very warm and cosy and excellent accommodation for four adults and a teenager. The autumn colours were stunning and we enjoyed a number of walks in good and not so good weather and much wildlife watching including many grouse, mountain hare, various deer, red kite and buzzards. The WiFi was at least as good as at home and the track up to the cottage was easily drivable. We were sorry to leave and hope to return soon.
    Mrs Evershed - October 2014
We enjoyed our time at croftmill cottage very much. The house is very beautiful and comfortable. It would have been senseful to know before that water had to be boiled there before drinking - this was a little surprise and a little bit annoying. Also the flush of the wc was charged bit slowly from time to time - with a group of five nearly adult persons this might require some patience sometimes. The caretaker of the house was very friendly and helpful! The landscape is beautiful - all in all we loved staying there very much. The pretty cottage was a good initial point for our trips through Scotland!
    Mr Brinker - July 2014
Fantastic cottage, real home from home. The facilities at the cottage were excellent. the caretaker had everything prepared ready for our stay, she made our stay really enjoyable. The view and tranquility was outstanding, more than we could have wished for. Will definately go back. Thank you for our stay !
    Mr Baxter - July 2012
To upgrade to 5 star new bath and fireplace in sitting room required.
    Mr Bampton - June 2012
The only comment I would make is that the cottage would benefit from double glazing.
    Mr Miles - May 2012
Very good accommodation - any queirs readily dealt with, Had a very relaxing time. It would be most suitable in Winter - very warm and comfortable. Kitchen well-equipped
    Mrs Hoyle - October 2011
    * best views on Loch Freuchie * a quite place for holidays * such a comfortable Cottage * the supply road is only for Landrovers * wifi required
Owners Response: "Cottages and Castle would like to confirm that access to this house is fine as long as taken with care, we have visited recently ourselves."
    Mr Richartz - July 2011
