Dallas Lodge is a stunning family home that is much loved by its owners. Built in the late 17th Century by Sir Robert Gordon of Gordonstoun, the large holiday Lodge stands in the 10,000 acre Dallas Estate located along the meandering River Lossie and is conveniently only eight miles from the ancient market towns of Elgin and Forres. The family of George Mifflin Dallas, a Vice President of the USA and founder of Dallas, Texas, can be traced back to Dallas, Moray.

This warm inviting lodge has been tastefully and practically furnished. The accommodation includes a formal yet cosy chocolate coloured dining room with tartan curtains that is kept warm by a wonderful log fire. The charming drawing room also has a large traditional log fire with French windows that open onto the very attractive front lawns and colourful borders. The kitchen and breakfast room overlook the beautiful rose garden and every bedroom has a wash hand basin, electric blankets and lovely antique furnishings. The property is surrounded by impressive diverse gardens which guests will enjoy wondering around, the pond is perfect for boating and provides hours of entertainment and, on top of this, Dallas Lodge boasts both a croquet lawn and a tennis court.

For fishermen, there is a private beat available on the River Lossie which flows through the estate and tickets can also be obtained for the Association water. Salmon fishing is also available on the nearby famous Rivers Spey and Findhorn and this can be arranged via the usual letting agents. Lovely secluded sandy beaches harbour the Moray coast with sheltered coves and fishing ports all waiting to be explored.

Will consider enquiries for larger parties at an extra cost.

    Dallas Lodge reviews
We love staying at Dallas Lodge. It is obviously a well-loved family home and we feel that we are very welcome. Jean is a wonderful housekeeper, with the added bonus that she puts fresh flowers everywhere, including the bedrooms. We are so comfortable there and all our guests feel the same way.

As in previous years, it was a pleasure to stay in such a lovely, comfortable house, set in such a beautiful garden. Jean looks after us all so well, with welcoming flowers in all the rooms and everything so well looked after. Ideal setting for our fishing on the River Findhorn.
    Mrs Mcphail - July 2017
A well- loved house, which is very comfortable. The housekeeper puts fresh flowers everywhere- so welcoming- and looks after us so well. Plenty of bathrooms and hot water as well as comfortable beds. Lovely gardens.
    Mrs Mcphail - July 2016
This is a comfortable, well-loved house. It is beautifully cared for by Jean, the housekeeper, who puts fresh flowers everywhere. There are plenty of bathrooms for a full house of guests and a lovely drawing room and dining room. Good kitchen facilities, too. The gardens are gorgeous and the house is in a lovely area.
    Mrs Mcphail - July 2015
Dallas Lodge is a well-loved and beautifully looked after country house. Jean, the housekeeper, makes everything so welcoming with fresh flowers from the garden everywhere. We were lucky to engage the services of a local lady to cook for our large party, which made an excellent holiday for everyone. We were a mixture of ages, but everybody enjoyed their stay. We were on a fishing holiday, but always include visits to nearby Findhorn and Burghead Bay.
    Mrs Mcphail - July 2014
This is a lovely, well-loved family house, offering excellent, comfortable accommodation. There are plenty of bathrooms for a large party. You feel welcome from when you first arrive, greeted by the housekeeper, Jean. She has made sure everything is beautifully presented, including the lovely touch of fresh flowers everywhere, including in all the bedrooms. Moray is a beautiful county and the beaches and sandunes, at Burghead and Findhorn, in particular, are spectacular and quite quiet. The Kimberley Arms at Findhorn Bay is a definite recommendation. We were fishing in the area and would also recommend Logie Steading for its individual shops/galleries, tea room and huge second-hand book shop.
