This huge, impressive house in the Scottish Highlands provides high-quality group accommodation with large, welcoming rooms, a spacious private garden and a picturesque setting alongside Loch Ness.

Enjoy a private stay in this vast Georgian hunting lodge, surrounded by secluded walled gardens and towering trees. Just 3 miles from the infamous Loch Ness and adjacent to the River Fechlin, the property is a popular spot for those wanting a fishing holiday, with the surrounding countryside also being ideal for stalking and shooting. Sleeping 17, across nine bedrooms and with the invitation extended to two dogs, this home is truly perfect for a long-awaited family reunion. The estate also boasts an additional two holiday homes available to rent, accommodating an extra 4 or 8 guests.

 

This spacious home has been decorated with tradition in mind, utilising antique furnishings and classic patterns throughout. Spacious rooms benefit from large windows, allowing light to flood into the property, but they are beautifully equipped with tartan and floral curtains to block out the light and create a cosy space to relax come the evening. Cosy up in front of a wood burner or open fire and enjoy some quality family time.

 

A spacious drawing room with plenty of seating is the perfect space to relax together. Adults might enjoy relaxing with a bottle of wine whilst younger guests can head into the garden room to watch a DVD. Meals can be prepared in the spacious kitchen, which is well equipped with two large fridges, two dishwashers and two electric ovens. Once dinner is prepared, 14 guests can dine in the spacious dining room which is perfectly laid out for a celebratory birthday or anniversary dinner. The charming garden room opens out onto the private walled garden, which provides extra seating when entertaining outdoors.

 

All nine bedrooms can be found upstairs on the first floor. Head upstairs to discover the exquisitely decorated bedrooms. There is plenty of space for all with two super king rooms (both with an ensuite featuring a shower over a bath), one king size room, three double bedrooms (one of which benefits from an ensuite with bath), two twin rooms and one single. The first floor also boasts an extra sitting room, which is a welcoming space with marvellous views of the surrounding countryside and gardens.

 

The beautiful outdoor space is a large grassy garden surrounded by a pretty wall, accessed through the garden room. It is equipped with an outdoor dining table and a BBQ and is the perfect spot to host an enjoyable summer party on balmy summer evenings.

The property offers many opportunities for local fishing, with the River Fechlin accessible down 500 metres of country road, Loch Kemp on the vast estate itself and Loch Ness just 3 miles away. Wander the 1.5 miles up to Loch Kemp and make use of the stone BBQ by the fishing hut, before heading out on a boat to fish for brown trout. If you prefer to shoot, the groundskeepers and expert stalkers can guide you to shooting trips in the local area.

 

A varied day out for all the family is a trip to the local Fort Augustus, which sits at the bottom of Loch Ness and along the Caledonian Canal. Visit the Caledonian Canal Heritage Centre or explore Highland culture at The Clansman Centre. Take in wonderful views of the loch and enjoy plenty of restaurants and bars. Here you'll also find the closest golf course to the property, just 10.5 miles away.

 

A further interesting day out can be enjoyed at the local city of Inverness, just 25 miles from the estate. The city boasts plenty of culture, including a castle and cathedral. Wander over the Victorian suspension bridges of the tree-lined Ness Islands (22.5 miles), which provide an easy day outdoors, before selecting one of Inverness' independent eateries or watching a film or play at the local Eden Court arts centre (23 miles).

This house and location was perfect for a big family Christmas. The assortment of bedrooms and bathrooms worked really well as did the large dining room and super cosy lounge.

Absolutely stunning location and gorgeous house. Lots of lovely walks. Angie the housekeeper was very helpful. Perfect dining room for sitting round the table in a large group with the fire crackling.
