Description

Dell House near Whitebridge in Inverness-shire is an impressive, large holiday house dating from the Georgian era. Providing accessible accommodation, yet sitting in a private position, the property is encompassed by a walled garden and trees. Guests really will feel that they have escaped the hustle and bustle of modern life with an estate surrounding the holiday accommodation, which creeps from the infamous shores of Loch Ness – home to the elusive monster – right through wooded glens scattered with lochs to the spectacular Monadhliath Mountains.

This self catering holiday property has been elegantly decorated and furnished to create comfortable and traditional accommodation throughout. The large dining room, seating up to 14 guests, is ideal for evening dinner parties whilst the oil fired central heating and log fire in the drawing room ensures a warm and cosy stay all year round. Families are particularly well provided for with the garden room providing outdoor access to the barbecue and garden furniture.

The area surrounding this beautiful self-catering holiday house is home to a variety of wildlife – ranging from roe, sika and red deer to grouse and ptarmigan. You may even be able to spot grebe and divers in the various hill lochs, some of which can be enjoyed for a swim in or fished. One of the largest hill lochs even comes complete with a log cabin. Overall, Dell House is a delightful property ideally placed for making full use of all that the outdoors has to offer.

Garden Cottage adjoins Dell House and is available at an extra rent.

What a fabulous place to relax... party .... enjoy the outdoors ....the only suggestion would be a tv connection in the sitting room... the snug to be cosier and warmer ... perhaps a gas fire or similar in there... but overall fabulous
Mrs Campbell White - December 2018
Dell House was a great place for an extended family holiday. Excellent facilities, tremendous location (especially for walking and cycling), good weather and a very friendly house keeper. We enjoyed a couple of great lunches at Camerons tearoom and farm shop in Foyers where Morag looked after us well.
    Mr Inglis - April 2017
    Peaceful and stunning views
    Mr Davies - December 2016
Great House. Well maintained. Good standard of décor. Very comfortable. Kitchen excellent for catering for 14 people, as was the dining room. The estate grounds are fantastic for wandering around. As is the surrounding countryside in general. Very peaceful part of the world with shops, pubs, restaurants in Fort Augustus if required. Excellent New Year enjoyed by all.

Fabulous house with nooks and crannies everywhere to explore, inside and out. Amazing housekeeper (thanks Angie!). Real atmosphere, real comfort. Loads of interesting wildlife and good walks around too.
    Ms Forsyth - July 2015
This is a wonderful house to stay in, even though there are a few aspects which are clearly work-in-progress (the Bath Enameller is working his way through!). The décor and furnishings range from elegant to shabby-ish, but every room is spacious, comfortable and pleasant. The lovely wallpapers took me back a few years. We liked the unpretentious atmosphere and felt we could just relax. I have been in a few big houses and the kitchen here is one of the best I've seen - masses of equipment and very easy to work in. Absolutely everything you might need and plenty of space. The surrounding estate is just beautiful - I know it is one of the best for shooting but out of season it's perfect for walking and the extensive tracks make it easy. Earlier in the year I stayed in the adjoining cottage but this actually does need a makeover. I wouldn't take the cottage again, but we may well be back to Dell House and I'd thoroughly recommend it.

We had an excellent week. Peaceful and tranquil setting. Great house. Lovely garden and outlook. Wildlife all around. We had excellent fishing.
    Mr Linneker - May 2013
This is a lovely house, we stayed with the family, the weather was perfect. There is so much land to explore, the kids loved it! The Lochs are amazing, the scenery is amazing and the lady that looks after the house made us feel welcome and was always there is you needed anything looking at. Some great childhood memories relived and some more made! The house does require a little TLC but do not let this take you away from the enjoyment of the holiday and the grounds. Lovely log fire, all wood supplied, loved it!
    Mr Roden - March 2013
We could not have asked for a lovelier place to spend my husbands 80th birthday with all our children. An enormous manor house with plenty of bedrooms and baths for all. A formal dining room for a formal birthday party as well as a smaller dining area for casual dinners. The property is magnificent. Plenty of room to roam the highlands, even as far as Loch Ness. Easier walks to the famous Falls of Foyer through farmers fields with grazing sheep, cows, goats and horses. 40 minutes to a Tesco, 1 Hour dive to Inverness. Although this is basically a hunting lodge stocked by a gamekeeper, those of us who don't hunt but just love the outdoors found plenty to do. We also were able to make day trips to tourist sights (a treat for us all). Our housekeeper, Angie Barclay checked in on us every day to make sure everything was going well and helped us If and when we were muddled. A lovely lady and now our friend!
