    Drumblair House reviews
We booked Drumblair as accommodation for guests at our wedding which was in the area. It was perfect for this. We had 12 guests, who all loved their stay. The grounds are just beautiful and it was an idyllic setting. The dining room comfortably accommodated both of our families, and friends the night before the wedding for a meal. It as a great stay, and I would definitely recommend it.

Having visited the house for my 21st birthday celebration with family, I couldn’t think of a better place to celebrate my upcoming wedding with my girls for my hen party. What a brilliant house! We had an incredible time, it had everything we could wish for, and more... the games barn at the back was great fun, and although the weather was not on form, it was lovely to snuggle up infront of the fire in the lounge and reminisce. Would thoroughly recommend this house!! We will be back for more family celebrations in the years to come.

I hired this venue for a Hen Party where there was 12 females. I cannot express enough that this venue was stunning, homely and great value for money. Drumblair was spacious to hold a great party but also gave us numerous rooms to split into for some downtime in the comfort of a homely venue. There was nothing more comforting sitting in front of a crackling fire, in the countryside on a cold day. The Kitchen is also located between two living rooms making it a lovely meeting/central point for large parties. We also used a small outbuildings for a morning workout and walked the lovely gardens. Parking was not an issue for numerous cars. WiFi only worked in one room but you're on a break, so who needs the net!!

Beautiful, comfortable house with all mod cons but in a country manor style. Stunning gardens too! Great beaches at Banff and Sandend, incredible fish shop at Whitehills called Downies and a delicious restaurant at Fordyce - The old Kirk Cafe and Bistro. Make sure you book in advance!! Needless to say we enjoyed all the local distilleries too!
    Mrs Keeble - September 2018
Drumblair House was the perfect setting for our family get-together. We ranged in age from 20s to 80s and the house with its good outdoor space and lovely grounds suited our needs well. It was a great base from which to explore coastlines and castles, but the house was also lovely just to relax in and spend time together; it was well-equipped with everything needed to prepare family meals for large numbers.

Excellent stay in Drumblair house- beautiful house and garden with excellent facilities- really nice part of the world and very friendly hosts. I will definitely go back.
    Dr Turnbull - October 2017
We enjoyed a short five day break here in July 2017. The house was well equipped, comfortable and in a great quiet location. It was within easy striking distance of the Moray coast and surrounded by beautiful views of the Aberdeenshire hills. We were a large party of 10+ and the house accommodated us easily. The gardens are a special delight and the fruit and veg from them were delicious. On arrival the housekeeper was cordial, knowledgeable and friendly which eased the settling in process. We were advised to expect wildlife around the property and were not disappointed as we had close encounters with deer (red and roe) on a number of mornings and had the rare "red squirrels" attending the peanut feeders round the house. For a large party I would consider this good value for money and would recommend to others.

Fabulous house, we had a wonderful time, thank you!
    Mrs Martin - December 2016
We had a wonderful and relaxing stay at Drumblair House. The rooms were very elegant and comfortable with a homely feel to them. We didn't travel far during our stay, we didn't need to, the surroundings were very beautiful and peaceful. We are thankful to the Housekeeper, Ruth, who made us feel very welcome and provided us with all the information we needed and more. The Aga was prepared for our arrival, which we made use of for most of our stay. We highly recommend Drumblair House and will likely be visiting again.
    Mr Hastings - January 2016
House was perfect for our group of 10 with an age range of 2 to 65! Kids loved running around the grounds. My mother in law loved the flowers and birds. Adults enjoyed pleasant evenings by the fire. We had great fun cooking in the aga. The housekeeper, Ruth, went above and beyond. We had a delicious dinner at the Fishford inn, loved Glen Garioch distillery and had a great private tour with Karl Fisher.
    Mrs Beard - June 2015
What a wonderful place Drumblair House is, full of character, with beautiful grounds. Made us feel like we were staying in Downton Abbey. One of the best stocked accomodations I have ever stayed in. Surprised there was no microwave, when it was mentioned on the details. But we still managed ok with the Aga and second electric oven/hob. Could do with a larger TV, as expecting 12 guests to watch it together. Or another TV in the main living room. WiFi was a bonus, although couldn't go very far from the hub without losing the signal, could do with a power network and boosters. Overall, it was a great place for a group of friends/family to spend a memorable holiday together.
Owners Response: "Thank you very much for your review and delighted you enjoyed your stay. We have added a 4 plate hob and electric oven ( in the utility room) and removed the microwave  - this has now been amended in the list on Cottages & Castles web site - sorry for any inconvenience caused.  Thank you again "
    Mr Walastyan - May 2015
Lovely stay in this spacious yet homely country house. We felt like modern Lairds of Huntly! With 11 of us for a special birthday weekend, including 4 young children, we never once felt crowded as there was plenty of room to spread out (and plenty of bathrooms!). The house was lovely and warm with all the facilities that we needed plus a whole library of books available. It had the feel of a country estate - with plenty of evidence of country pursuits around the walls - and yet it was definitely a home and not a museum so thankfully we didn't have to follow the children round to make sure they didn't touch/play with/break things that they shouldn't. We didn't spend much time in the garden as it was a very wet weekend but what we saw of it was well kept and I'm sure would be beautiful in the sunshine. The housekeeper gave a lovely welcome and the basket of treats, including a 70th birthday card for the birthday boy was a really nice, thoughtful touch.
    Mrs Turner - November 2014
We had a fantastic weekend at Drumblair House to celebrate my mum's 60th birthday. The house was warm, clean and well-equipped. We had a lovely welcome from the house keeper who had the kettle boiling, coffee on the stove, home-made shortbread, oatcakes and a birthday cake all ready for us! What service! The children loved running around the 'castle' finding new places to explore and enjoyed playing with the supply of toys in the house. Had we stayed longer and had the weather been better we would have used the garden more and explored the surrounding area. We really enjoyed the fires and using the aga! A lovely home to stay in for a big family or for an extended family (it has an excellent layout for this as some of the bedrooms are interconnecting). Would happily stay there again!
    Mrs Atwell - February 2012
We loved the house and the area. Great for walks and cooking and reading by the chimney. Very friendly owner, good housekeeping. Upon arrival a pie and a hot coffee were waiting on the stove for us.
    Mr Berger - December 2011
A warm welcome from the housekeeper when we arrived. In every respect a beautiful house, which fulfilled all expectations. Very recommendable!
