Set in an elevated position with countryside views across the rolling Perthshire hills, Dungarthill House is a magnificent Victorian property situated near Dunkeld. The sweeping woodland drive up to the house adds to the majestic feel of this grand country house, and the secluded location provides holidaymakers with total privacy during their break in this wonderful home.

Dungarthill is a delightful, traditionally furnished home that was often used for shooting parties on the estate, and is perfect for family celebrations and large groups. The house is spacious and bright, and most of the bedrooms benefit from beautiful views across the garden. The modern kitchen contains a large bench which is perfect for breakfast time, with the added benefit of an Aga which is sure to be a hit with the chef of the party. There are various rooms in the house that are perfect for socialising, including a billiards room, formal dining room and the drawing room, with seating areas in the large hallway where you can cosy up in front of the fire with a dram in hand. Most of the rooms in this house have working fires too. Look out for some of the quirky features that were added to the property by a previous owner, such as the unique ‘hot air balloon’ chandelier in the dining room and the interesting patterns on some of the curtains! Outside, there is a small patio area that leads from a small seating area in the hallway. You are sure to spend many evenings out here in the summertime whilst you admire the Scottish countryside that surrounds you.

Renowned for its scenery, Dunkeld has something that will appeal to everyone. Dungarthill House is within easy reach of numerous distilleries, castles and other historic towns. Dungarthill House reviews
One word to describe this house- Wow!! Absolutely stunning house in the perfect location. From the second you set eyes on the house coming up the driveway, you immediately know your in for an amazing experience. Theres just room after room, hallway after hallway, it’s absolutely huge!! Perfect for large groups of people. We had 17 guests staying at the house for 30th Birthday celebrations, so the layout and space was perfect for what we needed. There are multiple rooms for every need. The dining room is absolutely stunning. We held a black tie dinner party in here on the Saturday evening and hired a private chef too. The grounds are picturesque and provide a great place for outdoor activities. We will definitely returning to this property in the future and we would highly recommend this to everyone.

Dungarthill was a great house with plenty of indoor and outdoor space for our big group of friends to come together when we wanted to. It has large and small rooms allowing us to have evening meals together and allowing quiet down time for the little ones (nap time) in the group! It was in a great location with plenty of things catering for the different interests within our group!

We enjoyed our two weeks at the house very much. There is a lot to see in the area with the nice old town Dunkeld and Pitlochry not far away. We visited the enchanted forest in Pitlochry, this was a great fun for all of us (adults and children).

The Perfect venue for groups wanting space and luxury together. The house is well stocked, clean and in a beautiful location with plenty of local activities around to keep everyone entertained.

Beautiful house in a beautiful setting, calm environment with a cute town nearby ! Unfortunately, a bit run down due to lack of maintenance. Limescale clogged shower heads, white towels are "grey", moth nests in at least one room. Kitchen poorly equipped for cooking for more than 4 people!
Owners Response: "Thank you for your review - the comments are noted and we are delighted you gave our property 4 stars."

Well presented by Rebecca Problem with one shower room door and one leaking shower head ( Rebecca advised ) Two bedrooms lacking adequate curtains to break early morning light Some towels quite elderly and kitchen equipment had its challenges for party of twenty But loved the house and grounds which were lovely and well maintained. Dunkeld golf course, Perth races and local walks nearby.

We recently enjoyed a fantastic family holiday at Dungarthill House and would have no hesitation in recommending it as the perfect venue for a family gathering. 4 generations, ranging in age from 2 to 86, loved every minute of our stay. The house was very cosy (which we had not expected as the weather was very cold) and comfortable, with everything we could want. We made full use of all the space and particularly enjoyed having a dining room which was large enough to seat all 22 of us – the perfect setting for a murder mystery evening! The grounds are beautiful and it was amazing to look out of the windows to see deer and red squirrels in the garden. We loved it so much we’ve booked again for next year and can’t wait to return.

Dungarthill House was rented for a weekend to celebrate a big birthday party. We stayed with 13 adults and 8 children and had plenty of space. The rooms are big and the beds are comfortable. There are plenty of bathrooms, so most families had a bathroom each. The bedrooms are all different decorated and I liked all the personal touches. Downstairs is grand. There are 3 big rooms for entertaining. The billiard room and drawing room in particularly are lovely. There are open fires in all of the downstairs rooms and in the hall, which make the rooms even more cosy. The kitchen is big and functional with a big AGA and another cooker. The dining room is just beautiful and we managed to sit down with all our 21 guests around the table. What makes Dungarthill House so different to other country houses, is that it is lovely and warm, even without the fires on. The heating system is brilliant and on arrival the house and the AGA were both warm. We did explore the grounds, but the weather was challenging, so didn't venture out much. The grounds were well kept and plenty of space to run around or play some games on the lawn. Overall I can highly recommend staying in Dungarthill House. We were all sad to leave.
