This attractive little stone built holiday cottage is set in the middle of the Estate; there are far reaching views across the Conon valley. Just a short walk from Dunglass Farmhouse, it would be an ideal base for overspill guests but ideally suited for couples wishing a romantic retreat which is cosy; with its period open fire and wooden flooring, the sitting room is an ideal retreat after the day's activities. The kitchen has a large dining table and is well fitted. The double bedroom is set next to the large shower room.

There are beautifully overgrown gardens to explore, lochs and ponds bristling with birdlife, as well as lovely riverside and woodland footpaths and cycle tracks to follow and river and loch fishing to enjoy whilst - at extra charge - an exciting variety of outdoor pursuits can be arranged including clay pigeon and target shooting, canoeing, abseiling, archery and photographic safaris in the company of a knowledgeable ranger. A nine hole "reversible" golf course is on the Estate, with a plethora of courses within a 40 minute drive.

Inverness, 12 miles, Capital of the Highlands, offers fine shopping and entertainments and boat trips on Loch Ness and dolphin cruises on the Moray Firth. Cawdor Castle and haunting Culloden Moor are worth visiting. Explore the Black Isle, with villages full of character, local brewery, seasonal fruit farm and good walks; linger in the NTS seaside village of Cromarty, famous for its ancient fossil beach with interesting shops, coffee houses and excellent hotel with a ferry crossing to Nigg. The Victorian spa village of Strathpeffer is 6miles, with Glen Affric a must for a picnic amidst the old Caledonian Pine Forest. Well marked walking tracks promise scenic walking for all grades of fitness Plodda Falls is nearby.

The West Coast is an easy drive with stunning scenery and a choice of destinations from Ullapool to the Isle of Skye to discover. The market town of Dingwall is 3.5 miles with the nearest pub serving food 2 miles. The largest livestock market in the north is 2 miles with regular sales.

    Dunglass Cottage reviews
Lovely little cottage beside some stables. The place was clean with one double bed. The bed was fairly comfortable, but have had better. The bathroom was big and spacious, with an excellent shower with good water pressure. The kitchen had everything you needed, with a dishwasher, cooker (hob was slow to warm up) and an ample size fridge freezer. A sofa and armchair made for comfortable evenings where there is a TV with basic channels to watch and and open fire for chilly evenings (we didn't use this). We would have like WIFI to assist with our research for day trips, but understand that some may be glad of getting away from it. (It was not advertised as having WIFI so we are not complaining!)
