    Easter Camusvrachan reviews
As 6 hill-walking women, we found Easter Camusvrachan to be located in a magical part of Glen Lyon, with beautiful walks easily accessible by foot from the cottage. The resident garden red squirrel was a joy to observe, as we enjoyed breakfast simultaneously!! The cottage itself was snug and cosy, once we got the heating and fire on, it was a spring evening and the cottage was very cold when we arrived. The cottage accommodation was generally good, the beds were comfortable and the place was clean, the dishwasher and washing machine were greatly appreciated. The kitchen fluorescent ight was annoyingly flickery, so we gave up using it. We found the living room to be a lovely space for relaxing in. Most chairs were comfortable, just a couple were a bit sad & saggy, buth eviews wee stunning. I had the good fortune to be sleeping in the cottage, however, the bothy accommodation was rather disappointing for the 3 ladies sleeping there. Here's what a couple of them had say:- "I think it's a lovely cottage and the grounds were beautiful - 2 things to improve would be having the heating on for when we arrived would have been nice ( although I guess they didn't know it would be so late?) and the bothy not having a sink in the bathroom - it was a little impractical to have to use the very small sink in the bedrooms after using the toilet or to clean our teeth. And extra towels would have been nice!! None of those things spoiled the visit though!" ; "The beds were really not comfortable and squeeked when you turned over, also there were quite a few creepy crawlies in the bothy and the walls were not sound proof in the bothy, also, couldn't find a hair drier anywhere". All in all, lovely cottage and location, but bothy could be a lot better........

Nice cottage with a good view - the bothy is a nice bonus used by my daughter and her husband - fantastic garden with lovely walks - the birds and squirrels complement the experience - if you are looking for privacy, peace and tranquility, then this one is for you - highly recommended - definitely will come back to Easter Camusvrachan soon

House is a bit tired inside, part of it feels like stepping back into the 1970s. Some of the furniture and furnishings could do with some TLC, but we got used to it very quickly. The fire was easy to set and burned well. The rest of the house was lovely and warm when the radiators were on, which was great after a day on the hills. The house is situated in the best "garden" I have ever stayed at, effectively a private woodland - quite amazing and a sheer joy to walk round. I was disappointed that we did not get a low occupancy discount, seeing as I booked this only two days before the start date and we had no need to use the bothy that sleeps four people. When I have found myself having to make a late booking such as this I have always secured a discount of this type.

This is a wonderful glen as long as you are looking for peace and seclusion - any major facilities (e.g. pub for evening meal) take some time to reach (minimum 30 minutes) from this property. The house is great - spacious and homely with lovely log fire. The furniture is indeed rather scruffy and in need of updating, but this was no major issue for us. There are a couple of red squirrels that made regular appearances in the garden, especially early in the morning - a real treat. Bothy is good.

As said in review heading we have been visiting the cottage for 21 years the only gripe is that the kitchen and house bathroom could use an update
    Mr Mack - April 2016
Lovely and sizeable cottage in a gorgeous location with the added bonus of further accommodation in the bothy which is in the garden. My parents loved this setup which gave them a place of their own but only about 30 yards from the main house. The wildlife in the huge garden is varied and fascinating to us townies. The scenery and views from the cottage is awesome. The cottage is comfortable and bedrooms are a good size. The only thing I would say is that one of the bathrooms in the cottage really needs upgrading but hey ho the location of this cottage makes up for everything. Be aware though, this cottage is quite remote so take plenty of provisions with you...
    Mrs Brady - August 2014
Excellent holiday location. Fantastic wildlife. Beds very comfortable providing a good nights sleep. Addition of new seat along with other small upgrades eg new tv, electricity included all added to this delightful holiday location. Thanks for another great week.
    Mrs Cairney - July 2014
Once again we enjoyed our time at Easter Camasvrachan which is a perfect antidote to stressful living. The setting is magnificent, with space for everyone to enjoy but is not the place for those who must be near shops and "civilisation". You can just "chill" and watch the wildlife (red squirrels and hares in the garden!) , there are lots of walks in the Glen for all levels of fitness and there are a lot of activities within 20 miles .These include fishing, stalking, clay pigeon shooting, kayaking, rafting and Land Rover safaris as well as serious mountain walking. Minor problem with water was sorted very quickly(30"!) by the gardener/handyman .The lounge seating was our only real niggle..its not very comfortable and really needs replacing, otherwise this is a wonderful property and great value for money.

Real estate agents always say it is about location, and that is true for Easter Camusvrachan which is set within the heart of Glen Lyon which must be one of Scotland's best hidden secrets. The cottage is well set up with views of the beautiful valley from each of the main public rooms and bedrooms. It is not too far from Aberfeldy, and the Post Office at Bridge of Balgie is about 3 miles away. If you like relaxing in solitude, fishing or hiking, this is a great place to be. In early June, the sun shines all day, and Glen Lyon seems to be in a rain shadow. But if it rains, this house is comfortable. Our only suggestion is to upgrade the furniture. Windows, kitchen and bathrooms are all excellent, but the living room chairs are past their best and not comfortable.
    Mr Wilson - June 2013
Nice cottage, lovely gardens, very secluded. Comfortable bed, clean and tidy. Garden teaming with wildlife, even two red squirrels. Arm chairs in lounge in need of an upgrade and it would have been nice if we had been able to use the log fire, but chimney being repaired at the time of our visit.
    Mrs Morgan - July 2012
Slightly tired furniture and kitchen. Gardens and rest of house stunning . Area stunning . Wild life stunning. All helped by glorious weather. River at edge of property a bonus and a photographers dream. Silence at night blissfull. Local ameneties good with lots to do.
    Mr Haworth - May 2012
Easter Camusvrachan never disappoints. The superb location and extensive grounds make all the difference and we have had a truly relaxing holiday. The friendly caretakers were nearby and were on hand to resolve any problems (not that we had any). Perhaps the furniture in the lounge is a little dated but the place has its own special ambience and is very comfortable. We go to the Highlands to relax and enjoy the quietness and peace and see the wildlife, not to watch satellite television (we can do that at home!) We hope that Easter Camusvrachan will be available to let for many years to come so that our grandchildren can enjoy it too!
