A simply great converted steading, that is both welcoming and quirky. The large main space has double height ceilings and a large open fire, whilst the large glass doors give exceptional views across the Strath. This room contains sitting room, dining, kitchen and a magnificent billiard room as well as a bathroom. The two twin bedrooms are extremely comfortable and both are en-suite.

Outside is a patio and furniture - perfect for a quiet drink at the end of the day. The house has ownership of two upper Tay beats which may be available by arrangement. The beats are Upper and Lower Farleyer where catches have almost doubled in the past year.

If you are not fishing then this area is filled with things to do and places to explore. The nearby town of Aberfeldy is enchanting with independent shops and restaurants, golf course and distillery. Nearby is Castle Menzies, or explore some of the many wonderful walks in the area where you may well see deer and red squirrels. Canoeing and rafting is also available nearby.

Farleyer Steading is delightful, the sort of place that gives you peace and glorious views, but is located in a popular area with plenty to do. The holiday house itself is ideal to enjoy Perthshire.

Also available is The Old Manse at Farleyer sleeping 10 or book both the Steading and Manse (sleeps up to 14)

    Farleyer Steading reviews
Great central location to explore Scotland and lots of local attractions and walks to do, one week was not long enough. Farleyer Steading is a lovely house all open plan, well equipped kitchen, open log fire and not forgetting the pool/snooker table Lots of local restaurants at aberfeldy and round the nearby loch Tay.

We went here with our friends for a short break. The owner was very friendly and the Steading was very big and comfortable. You do have to go outside to enter the bedroom wings but this was never a problem. The property was lovely and warm throughout and the large open fire was fantastic. The added bonus of a full size snooker table was useful. In the summer I can image sitting outside and admiring the magnificent valley views. We would definitely recommend.

The overall impression of Farleyer steading was a well presented & delightfully tranquil Steading. The views and surroundings were outstanding, with a warm welcome on arrival. We enjoyed our stay, visiting among others; Loch Tay, safari centre, spirit of wood and had a gorgeous meal at Ailean Chraggan restaurant ( 5 stars). However the single beds in the rooms were not to the high standard of the rest of the Steading, letting down the overall high standard set throughout the rest of the Steading be spoilt by poorly maintained bed's. We would highly recommend this retreat to anyone wishing a quiet well appointed holiday retreat, providing the issue with the bed's was addressed. Also, we would wish to have the checkout time moved to 1100 O'clock instead of 1000 O'clock, as it is at present. It would make for a more pleasurable checkout, especially if you are only staying for a day or two.

Well appointed if quirky accomodation in beautiful setting with expansive Tayside views. Very attentive housekeeper. We were lucky with the weather so the outside access to the bedrooms was no problem. Enjoyed revisiting this area of Scotland which we know well and the nine hole golfcourse at Kenmore was as pretty as ever. Aberfeldy is a good centre for visits both east and west and The Festival Theatre at Pitlochry is always worth a look as is The House of Bruar which is popular with the ladies!

A great house to stay in an amazing area.

If you're looking for a spacious quirky property with all the comforts of home then this is the place for you. This was exactly what we were looking for and more. The two large twin rooms on either end of the property were really nice, both with en-suite facilities, televisions and plenty of storage place. The open planed central room boasted a full sized snooker table, open wood burning fire, huge television (with sky) and three sofas to relax. The kitchen had all the modern mod cons along with a fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. Too many things to mention here. The location was superb, local amenities are only a five minute drive away in the town of Aberfeldy. The surrounding area is a mecca for water sports, walking and short drives to reach touristy hot spots.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Farlayer Steading. It really is a fantastic property and one of the best equipped holiday houses that we have stayed in. The photos on the website don't do the property justice it is even better in reality. We didn't mind the fact that the bedrooms were located at either end of the property, both were very spacious with en-suites and TVs. The property is ideal for a couple or a family with teenagers/older children.

What a lovely barn conversion in beautiful settings. Excellent living room, kitchen, diningroom and pool room in one with a lovely big fire and TV to keep the kids entertained. Nice patio area with table and chairs. Found going outside to the bedrooms a bit strange but got used to it although would suit 2 couples better than a family with young kids. Had an excellent stay over Christmas and thinking about going back in the summer.
