Description

This lovely house is in a stunning location with views across to the Monadhlaith Mountains making Fechlin the perfect holiday house for those who love Scotland’s wild landscapes. Fechlin is beautifully located in open ground with views up the valley and you can fish for trout on the river running at the foot of the garden. Access to the house is over a very well maintained but unsurfaced road.

The house is a delight – very bright and fresh with plenty of space, big windows and French doors to make the most of the views and it is beautifully furnished, making your stay very comfortable. The house enjoys a quiet location well off the road. The kitchen/dining room is extremely spacious and very well equipped – a perfect spot to socialise whilst preparing and enjoying meals. The large sitting room with French doors to the garden has a wood burning stove for cooler days and a patio area to enjoy the outdoors. With a comfortable en-suite bedroom on the ground floor, this house has good access for the less mobile.

Whitebridge is situated on the quieter south side of Loch Ness and there are beautiful walks in the area and wildlife a plenty with red, sika and roe deer, otters and numerous birdlife in the immediate vicinity. Fort Augustus, Loch Ness and the Caledonian Canal are only 20 minutes drive where many other activities are available, making Fechlin the perfect self catering holiday home from which to explore the Highlands of Scotland.

    Fechlin Cottage reviews
We have enjoyed our stay so much. The cottage was well equiped and very funktionel for 8 adults. The surroundings fulfilled our expektations fully. We could have used a more detailed description of how to get there. Only put in the name Dell and everything would be a bit easyer... We’ll be back...

Cant fault this house. Fantastically equipt - Goshawks and Kestrels flying outside and red, fallow and roe deer. The only fault would be the directions. We had 3 groups arriving separately and all struggled. Basically the info says turn off the road before white bridge and you have arrived. Well you actually turn off the road - turn left and then first right - and at no point is there a sign for the house
    Mr Peggie - August 2017
Good price and perfectly placed for day trips around the Highlands. Very clean and tidy and comfortable beds. Kitchen was a good size and good spec. Instructions for Hob and oven would have been good. If the bathroom had been finished better I would have upped the rating. Also noisy toilet on flushing. Wifi was turned off, this causes a reduction in speed if left off after every vsit. Overall very pleased and would book again!!
    Mr Law - July 2016
Loved the house, plenty of space for the family, really lovely location, the variety of animals we could see from our back door was astonishing, included, deer, phesant, either otter or mink not sure! pet friendly.
    Mr Curley - July 2016
Easy to book through cottages & castles. clear instructions to reach property. the care taker was easy to reach adn arrange time to receive the key. The cottage itself was located through a lovely 8 m scenic road. Everything is of a good standard. Kitchen and the dining table was very nice, we enjoyed cooking. the rooms are spotless wiht great views. fire place was amazing - we used it regularly. there was a power cut for 30 min but it was for the entire loch... all in all, will definitely book again. there will be towels, but no toiletries or any basic cooking stuff, coffee etc... please do take them with you..
    Dr Thevarajan - April 2014
What a fantastic house in a beautiful location with stunning views to the back of the house. There are lots of things to explore in the area, the Upper and Lower Waterfalls at Foyers were particularly stunning and a lovely woodland walk with play park at the end for children. Half the group enjoyed a rafting trip with Ness Water Sports which they said they would go on again whilst the rest of us visited Cawdor Castle which had lovely gardens but was a bit further (past Culloden). We also drove top Fort William one day (just over an hour) and got the train to Mallaig for the stunning scenery - we'd recommend the standard train which is much cheaper than the steam train and goes on the same route. If its rainy the aquadome swimming pool in Inverness is really good and they had a soft play area set up too although that might just be for the holidays. We also went to Landmark Adventure Park and the Highlands Wildlife Park both in the Cairngorms National Park, both were well worth visiting if you have children, again they are about a hour. The local pub in the Whitebridge Hotel is also very friendly and serves food. All in all a great holiday, just wish we had longer! The house itself was great for 8 of us, plenty of room.
    Mrs Miezitis - July 2012
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Fechlin Cottage. It is very spacious and was just perfect for 6 people. We enjoyed lots of walks in the local area, and sat by The fire in the evenings. Only one comment, the electric stove Top is very difficult to work, and once warm, it it impossible To operate and not to burn yourself because the whole Glass plate gets so hot. Thanks, Charlene
