    Finisla reviews
Finisla is the perfect place to stay in Brodick. Location is fab and it is right at the beach, shops, restaurants and a two minute drive from the Ferry. The house itself is perfect, plenty of space and we had everything we needed. The kitchen was particularly well equipped. Our dog loved the wee enclosed garden and appreciated the balls that he found there! We were quite surprised at how expensive it is to eat out in Arran though. But there are two co-op shops in easy walking distance. Wooley's is great with their huge variety of delicious bakery goods. Loved the crazy golf. Everything really near. My favourite thing to do was to walk along the Fisherman's Walk, along by the beach and the golf course. Eventually brings you out at the Arran Brewery, craft shops and the Wineport Bistro is a great place to eat. I would definitely recommend staying at Finisla and if we come back to Arran (which I hope we will) I would try to get this place again.

What a treat , far better than i expected, everything you could need in a holiday home and more. The only reason I have not given Finisla a 5 star rating is the lack of at least a toilet upstairs, for us it was not a major problem as Jane with her dodgy knees had the double room downstairs but I could see it being a bit of an issue with smaller children or anyone who may need a bathroom through the night , but having a double room downstairs was a bonus and the back/tv room would be an option, this room was ideal as a bit of a dumping ground for us as the climbers in the party were able to sort out rucks sacks boots and equipment with out getting in the way, the kitchen dining and lounge area was ideal for our needs with plenty of cooking utensils pots/pans oven trays etc, big fridge freezer, dish washer , washing machine and tumble dryer all added to making the week away easy. The outside space was enough for what we needed and totally secure for our border collie but if you are taking a small (tiny) dog be aware they may be able to get under the gate but there are tie outs if you need them . The Coop superstore in Brodick had good supplies of everything including products from local suppliers butchers, fish mongers local brewery, everything you could need. If your not already loaded up there is a large Asda at Ardrossan port just before getting on the ferry. The Rock cafe in Brodick was excellent and the Pierhead tea rooms in Lamlash does amazing sausage rolls , Hooked and Cooked the chippy at the port best fish and chips i've had in long while and good sized portions. Our treat out was to Crofters just around the corner and again the food was excellent although very busy tables a bit to close together and quite small, good to note to they are only child and dog friendly until 19.30 , dont forget to book for the evenings. We just didn't have time to try anywhere else so we will be back. The walk to Lamlash is very straight forward but if you are intending to get the Ferry to Holy Island best to check out sailing times and pick a day as very dependent on tide times again didn't make it this time so another excuse to return . While our home town was getting flooded out we saw very little rain and myself and Chris managed to get up high most 5 out of our seven days stay. Great cottage , great location, great holiday. just gone back to rate as a 5 star but 4.5 would be more honest due to lack of upsatairs loo.

Spent a week in Arran at beiginning of May and stayed in Brodick at Finisla cottage. The cottage was well equipped and very comfortable. Ideally situated for Arran Active, Little Rock cafe (serves the best latte in Ayrshire), the beach and local shops. Janie’s tearoom next to Arran Aromatics and the cheese shop well worth a visit for lunch. Cafe Rosaburn at the Heritage museum is not far from Finisla either and serves lovely food. All in all Finisla suited our family needs well.
