This delightful self-catering cottage sits at the edge of the sea on the beautiful Inner Hebridean Island of Luing. Set within a small row of charming whitewashed slate worker’s cottages in the picturesque village of Toberonochy, Galbraith Cottage offers a glorious oasis from which to explore and enjoy all this idyllic Scottish island has to offer.

Whilst able to accommodate four people in two good sized bedrooms, this homely, characterful cottage would also be the perfect hideaway for romantic breaks and honeymoon couples. Inside, Galbraith Cottage retains its warmth and traditional charm yet offers all the modern comforts desired for a stress-free holiday. A small hall leads to the spacious double bedroom at the front and through to the cosy sitting room with its deep sofa and wood burner making it perfect to snuggle down in after a good country walk. The second twin bedroom, quietly positioned overlooking the garden, has fabulous views across the water. The bright, open kitchen offers plenty of space with a large dining table and a door opens out to a pretty, enclosed garden which is perfect for relaxing in while listening to the waves lapping on the shore and the distinctive cries of the nearby curlews.

Situated on the Firth of Lorne and reached by a short car ferry voyage, this historic Atlantic island is a tranquil paradise with stunning scenery, beautiful sunsets, rich history, gentle pace of life and a friendly local atmosphere. Toberonochy is one of two villages on the island and lies on the more sheltered east coast with its own village green and little harbour making it perfect for boating enthusiasts. The quiet island roads mean children can run or bicycle freely as well as wander down to the shore and spend hours playing on the beach. There are many beautiful hill and coastal walks to be enjoyed and sandy bays to be discovered with the opportunity to watch seals, otters, a huge array of seabirds and even dolphins. A perfect setting for a happy, unforgettable holiday.

The popular harbour town of Oban with its excellent restaurants, shops and local attractions is just half an hour away and during the summer the area comes alive with a host of festivals and ceilidhs attracting bagpipers, highland dancers, and traditional musicians and singers from all over the world. Argyll is one of the most romantic areas of Scotland, famous for its spectacular castles, coast and wildlife. Dreamy highland views of glens, rugged mountains and lochs can all be enjoyed from this secluded and tranquil location and there are endless day trips and outdoor opportunities all within easy reach.

All on one level: Small entrance hall, sitting room, open-plan kitchen & dining room with door to garden and views overlooking sea. Double bedroom. Twin bedroom. Shower room with underfloor heating (shower, wc, whb & heated towel rail).

We had a wonderful 3 weeks in this cosy cottage. The cottage had everything we needed, a very comfortable bed, and a lovely garden with picturesque views. We saw lots of wildlife including otters, hares, deer, sea eagle, hen harriers and dolphins. The perfect break, we hope to visit again.

Beautifully restored cottage in a conservation village. Views from the kitchen and garden outstanding!! Hostess cannot do enough for you and the property was well appointed without ruining the authentic appeal. Perfect spot, had lunch in the garden next to the sea, beautiful garden - the whole island has lots of wild flowers growing by the road sides etc.
