    Gollanfield reviews
This detached property was very peaceful with beautiful views of the mountains and loch from the rear of the property. The front garden was also very attractive and well maintained. The property was well equipped although there was a problem drying wet clothes and washing in inclement weather. A tumble drier in the garage would have been appreciated.
Mr And Mrs Sampson - June 2019
Easily accessed south facing bungalow, situated on the edge of Loch Linhe. Stunning scenery with gorgeous views from the master bedroom, dining area and decking
    Mrs Veasey - May 2019
Fantastic location. Views from the property and the outside decking are amazing. We normally like to eat and drink out on holiday but with such a stunning setting we much preffered to stay at the property in the evening. Would definitley book again
    Mr Gill - June 2018
Gollanfield is a magical place that I can heartily recommend to all. Beautiful views (that are far more glorious than the photos show) from a very well equipped and extremely comfortable house, Gollanfield offers a wonderful holiday space no matter what the weather. Loved every minute of our time there and my only complaint was that our stay was far too brief!
    Mrs Vincent - April 2018
Gollanfield provide an excellent base to explore the area. The cottage has fantastic views from every window. The kitchen has a fabulous dining area and kitchen with everything you could want when cooking for a family. The bedrooms are of good size with master bedroom giving a fantastic view to loch and hills. We were there during a cold spell and although initially cold heating was excellent along with hot water on demand. Garden provided safe space for dog, children and wonderful Easter egg hunt! Would defiantly recommend to all and hope to go back.
    Mrs Whigham - March 2018
+ Clean. Lovely View. Safe for Dogs. Good facilities generally. - No where really do dry off wet clothes. No DVD player.
    Mr Chesterton - September 2017
Fabulous cottage with stunning views across Loch Linnhe and the surrounding area with access directly onto the Loch. The cottage is presented perfectly with everything you need for a self catering stay. Our family of 4 had ample space and with 2 teenagers you need a bit of space. Great location with Fort William about a 15 minute drive along the Loch, so within easy reach of Ben Nevis, Glencoe, The Caledonian Canal, Glenfinnan and boat trips to the fantastic small isles with deserted sandy beaches. Will most definitely visit again.
    Mr Porton - August 2017
The cottage is luxurious, and cosy, with a lovely bright and sunny kitchen which has views over the loch itself. the views from the terrace are stunning. We were greeted with a lovely cake a ingredients for a lot of tea- welcome after a long drive. The setting is ideal for hill walkers, as it is near both Glencoe and Fort William/ Ben Nevis. There are also shorter waterfall walks available nearby for those who find the Scottish peaks themselves a little overwhelming in size.
Mr And Mrs Brunton - July 2017
We enjoyed the cottage Gollandfield very much. A lot of space inside but also outside and a very beautiful view at the loch. One day there was a visit from one male and female deer!
    Mr Visser - June 2017
We had a great 5 night stay very comfortable accommodation with outstanding views. Would return if holidaying in the area.
    Mrs Hayward - May 2017
We had a lovely stay at Gollanfield cottage and felt at home as soon as we walked through the door. Everything that we needed to have a comfortable stay was provided. The cottage was warm and cosy and very clean and it was lovely to come back to after exploring the beautiful lochs and mountains. The beds were very comfortable too. Gollanfield cottage is in the most beautiful and peaceful location on the shore of loch Linnhe, the children and the adults enjoyed playing in the large garden where there was lots of space for the kids to burn off excess energy. There was a cake waiting for us when we arrived which was a lovely touch too. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and had a lovely holiday. Thank you :)
    Ms Parkes - April 2017
Visited this Cottage for a short weekend break to get my wee dog away from the madness of fireworks night, the house is in the perfect location for a relaxing break the outlook is absolutely superb with the views down the Loch and over the mountains beautiful. The house itself is very well equipped with everything you would need , kitchens a good size sitting room nice and comfortable and bedrooms are great size , bathroom is really big , everything about the house is perfect for a base to explore . Iv been to many cottage rentals but this cottage is up there with the best it's got the lot . The only thing that I missed was having a local shop to pop into the nearest is about 5 miles away in Ballachulish but it's not too bad if you drive which you will need to for this location .overall I'd recommend this this little gem to anyone I hope to be back next year .
    Mr Mcintosh - November 2016
The house has everything you need and more. Stunning views from all round the house. Took loads of photos . Lots of things to see and do in the area too. Would definitely recommend and go back again. Very relaxing house, with lovely decor throughout. Thanks.
    Mrs Cameron - July 2015
What a fantastic place. From the minute we pulled on to the drive we loved Gollanfield. It was even better than the lovely photos and description had let on. The position next to the loch is idyllic and the house is beautifully presented with everything you need but relaxed at the same time. With four children aged 15 to 8 and a dog it was perfect. We were very lucky to have 6 days of glorious sunshine. There are lovely walks and little towns nearby. And plenty of places to visit not too far away like Loch Ness and Ben Nevis (which we were delighted to reach the top of). We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this lovely house to anyone wanting a relaxing holiday in beautiful Scotland.
    Mrs Skelton - August 2014
Our family holiday was made extra special by this beautiful cottage. The views were stunning. I would recommend this accomodation to anyone.
    Mrs Pollard - August 2014
We had a wonderful holiday in Gollanfield. The cottage was comfortable, spotless and with all amenities we needed. The views of mountains, loch and rainbows were stunning.
    Mr Faschian - July 2014
The Gollanfield Cottage was a great place to relax and recharge! Lost of little singing birds, beautiful place and view from a very comfortable, modern house. The children loved the free Wi-Fi!!
    Mrs Fuchs - July 2014
The pictures on the website do it justice. You can tell its ideally located, but when you actually arrive, you realise that it is way more special than any picture can capture. That is just down to the sheer panorama of it all. Upon arrival, we pretty much stood on the rear deck in awe, at just how expansive the views actually are. We were impressed with the location; set back far enough from the road so as not to get any noise, the loch spread out in front of you and surrounding houses within sight but set so far away that you can enjoy complete privacy - it really is simply stunning.
    Mr Mullen - June 2014
From when you pull up in the car, to walking into the accomodation, it is like heaven on earth. The Views are spectacular, the cottage is designed to make the most of them, and the cottage itself was clean, welcoming, with everything you could possibly need. And the treat on arrival was just the icing on the cake.
    Mrs Ratcliffe - June 2014
Gollanfield is a lovely comfortable cottage with all amenities you could wish for (wifi, TV with good reception, excellently equipped kitchen) but more impotently the views from the main bedroom, kitchen and living room are amazing! the decking and outside seating is a lovely touch allowing you to fully appreciate the views on a nice day. From the internet information it was not possible to appreciate just how amazing those views are! The local area is great, we particularly enjoyed the Clachaig Inn which is dog friendly and does lovely lunches. There are lots of nice short walks in the area, mainly forestry commission and well way marked. The West Highland Railway is also a must do! We will definitely be back at some point.
    Mrs Hodgson - May 2014
The location is mesmerising and one that would be hard to beat anywhere, let alone Scotland. Add to this a really tastefully and well appointed accommodation that has everything you would need and it makes for a combination that makes certain it's going to be a great holiday......and so it proved. As a family and individually really positive lasting memories and somewhere to be headily recommended. Thank You!
    Mr Noble - April 2014
We loved our stay at Gollanfield, it really felt like home from home. This was our first trip to scotland and we felt Gollanfield was perfectly located for walking and touring the area. We were totally blown away with how beautiful this part of Scotland is and the views from the house are beautiful, no matter the weather. We definitely hope to return to Gollanfield next year.
    Mrs Parsons - September 2013
We loved our stay at Gollanfield. We arrived to fresh-baked scones, which was a lovely welcome. The owner was very helpful and nice. The cottage was spotless and very comfortable: the kitchen had everything you need to cook. The scenery was amazing - views over the loch from two sides (and multiple rainbows!). It was an easy base from which to do day trips - we took the road to the isles, drove to Loch Ness and hiked around Glencoe, among other things. For those with small children, the simplicity of the decor was also great - we didn't have to worry about them breaking things. The kids also loved the loch beach. We would return anytime.
    Ms Macdonald - September 2013
The house is really comfy with amazing views. The house is well appointed with everything you would need. It is dog friendly and right by the loch so a lovely walk. It's close enough to Fort William that you can get all your shopping plus it's a good base to go and explore the highlands.
    Mrs Verrier - August 2013
Beautiful mountain and lake views. A large lawned garden for kids to play. Modern bungalow interior unexciting but very smart, clean and well-equipped - a pity the lounge lacks the great views elsewhere! Easy access to great mountain walking and adventure activities - e.g. Vertical Descents, based a mile up the road in Onich, organised a great family canyoning trip for us. Also red squirrel viewing point at same location. Loch Leven Seafood Café, nearby, was fantastic for a treat.
    Ms Reynolds - July 2013
Lovely cottage situated in a peaceful location with stunning scenery. The uninterrupted views of Loch Linnhe and surrounding mountains are quite amazing, and the loch beach is only a couple of minutes walk away. Furnished to a high standard throughout with a very well equipped kitchen, the cottage was a home-from-home and proved a great base to come back to and relax in following a some great long walks – Ben Nevis and Glen Coe are both only a short drive away. Would definitely return to Gollanfield if we were looking to spend more time in that part of Scotland…
    Mr Brown - June 2013
Excellent location with breathtaking views. Very comfortable, spacious and well equipped accommodation. Delicious homemade scones on our arrival. The owner was most accommodating.
    Mrs Wright - March 2013
We had an amazing time at Gollanfield over new year. From the fresh mince pies waiting for us on arrival to the farewell message when we left. the owner couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming. The cottage itself was just perfect and we can't fault a single thing about about it. It's in an excellent location with stunning view over the loch. The photos really don't do the cottage justice. Would highly recommend Gollanfield to all our friends and family. The Ostler family, Dunlop:-)
    Mr Ostler - December 2012
An open fire would have been nice and some hooks on the back of doors.
    Mrs Cumbridge - October 2012
Superb location football a real outdoors holiday. Beautiful spot and cosy house. Just perfect.
    Mr Fry - October 2012
Great location, with a dream of a view. Cottage is so well equipped and the decor creates a wonderful ambience.Simply wrap around comfort quite a home from home.
    Mr Owens - September 2012
We booked Gollanfield for one week in September. It is a lovely place with a wonderful loch view. The weather wasn't so good for outdoor activitiies during our stay, nevertheless we could visit many interesting sights in the surroundings, like Oban, the Ardnamurchan peninsula, Fort William, Glencoe, etc. The rooms are very well equipped and have an appealing style. Gollanfield is a wonderful place to go "offline" :-)
    Miss Emsenhuber - September 2012
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Gollanfield - the house is beautiful and the location was perfect for touring the Lochaber area. The setting was just stunning, with views of Loch Linnhe and hills from almost every room. The furnishings were of a very high standard and the owners really have thought of everything you might need for a relaxing holiday, including tea and scones on arrival.
    Mrs Auld - August 2012
With the most incredible views towards Glen Coe and across Loch Leven this very comfy bungalow was great for our family of five. We found it to be an excellent base for the Ben Nevis and Glen Coe area. A truly memorable and stunning property. BUT, they forgot to mention in the publicity that it has it's own field in front that leads down to a perfect Loch side beach!
    Mr Gray - August 2012
Just returned from a great family holiday at Gollanfield. A lovely welcome .. With some fresh scones waiting The property is top notch, being spacious and modern but without being fussy (great not to have the typical rental cottage decor). Lots of nice touches Furniture is of a high standard with great beds and sofa. Very well equipped and again all items were of a high quality with many branded items. Location on the shore of Lich Linnhe was beautiful... A 1-minute stroll through a wild flower meadow and the kids were skimming stones and watching the wildlife. Sunset casts some fantastic colour into the tops of the hills overlooking the property. It was also a nice touch to have a mature garden to front of cottage (lots of frisbee space)... And a sun deck (yes ... Swimwear in Scotland is possible!). Loads to do in the area we covered Kayaking, gondolas @ Nevis , Righ falls which you can walk to from cottage and a couple of drives to Morar, Glendunnan and Fort Augustus. Village shop and hotel/pub are a pleasant 5-10 minute stroll from the door. We'll probably stay again
    Mr Logan - August 2012
Beautifully furnished, homely and well-equipped. Breathtaking views from decking. Home made scones much appreciated and thoroughly enjoyed on arrival. We would definitely consider having another holiday here. The Poodle Family
    Mr Poodle - July 2012
We had a great week! The property is set well back from the main road with lots of parking space. Its secluded location immediately allowed us to relax about having the dog with us; a very boisterous ridgeback. She revelled in the space around the well tended, mature gardens to the front of the house and was positively extatic about the rabbit filled field that leads directly down to the shingle beach. The views are stupendous, and there are no words to adequately describe the beauty of the spot.  The house itself was spotlessly clean, and great care had been taken to create a sense of relaxation throughout. The bed in the master bedroom was extremely comfortable and well furnished-the uninterrupted views from the bed across the loch were also awesome. The bathroom, spacious and the shower is roomy and powerful, perfect! The Kitchen is a great size and a good combination of old and new, re-cycled cabinets contain a comprehensive range of very good quality utensils, glasses and equipment, again spotlessly clean and well considered, the dishwasher and washing machine easy to use. the South-facing patio was a real sun-trap and we enjoyed a couple of late afternoons having a glass of wine in the sun while soaking up the majestic scenery. the proximity to the excellent Lochleven Seafood Cafe, Glencoe, and Fort William make this the perfect holiday venue for walkers, dog owners, families and foodies alike.
    Mr Heathcote - July 2012
The setting itself is magnificent. The cottage is thoughtfully equipped with high quality furnishings. It is absolutely perfect for all ages. Only a short drive to Fort William. There is ample to do if you are adventurous. Plenty beautiful walks for all levels of fitness. And the best bit for me was sitting reading a book and watching the bay from inside or outside the cottage depending on weather. Heaven!
    Mrs Simpson - July 2012
We had a wonderful holiday in this beautiful location with stunning views of loch, mountains, bridge and twinkling loch shore lights at night. The holiday home is spacious, warm and luxurious with all the amenities we expected and needed. It is close to too many great places to visit in the week we had, we did visit: the Western Isles, Ben Nevis, Oban Distillery, Ardnamurchan, Loch Shiel cruise, Jacobite steam train, Caledonian Canal, Glencoe. The people are very friendly and Oh! the sunsets.
    Mrs Williams
