Set in mature gardens and commanding wonderful views out across the sea, Grahamfield is a beautifully renovated family home set back from the shore in Whiting Bay, offering generous and comfortable accommodation for up to seven adults.

The house itself is very well equipped and would appeal especially to families and outdoor enthusiasts looking for a comfortable house from which to explore and enjoy all that Arran has to offer. Three of the bedrooms benefit from sea views and downstairs has an additional sun room in which guests can choose to relax. The garden is private and sheltered, perfect both for outside dining and relaxing in the sun. Lying just a stones throw from the shore, it would be ideal for boating and kayak enthusiasts as well as those who enjoy sea fishing. It is also only a very short walk from the centre of the village and guests can look forward to the prospect of fresh bread and coffee for breakfast.

Whiting Bay also offers a number of options for eating out, as well as some excellent cafes, an art gallery, shops and a delicatessen. In addition, there is easy access to cycle routes and both low and high level walks, including Giants Graves and Glenashdale Falls. Further outdoor activities are available at the Outdoor Activity Centre in Lamlash, and the Auchrannie in Brodick. Whiting Bay Golf Course is approximately one mile from the house and there are a further six courses around the island.

    Grahamfield reviews
    Seven of us stayed at Grahamfield for a week. We found the house very comfortable , it was well equipped and in a great location to explore Arran. Having the garden was an added bonus and we did mange to have couple of BBQ during the week. i would definately recommend it. The only improvement i would suggest was that for 7 of us we would have benefited from a couple of extra dish towels, dish clothes and toilet rolls. They got a bit over used by the end of the week, and we didn't want to out the washing machine on just for these.

    The house is very well presented, clean & the kitchen is well equipped to meet all your needs. I booked for my husband, son & myself. When we arrived there was only the king size bed made up & a single bed. I did contact the owner who came & made up the double bed but stripped the single bed. I paid for the house for a week so expected the use of all the bedrooms as I like to get away from my husbands snoring. I do think the property was slightly overpriced. It had a nice view of the sea but the road noise was a negative

    Lovely house, very well kitted out & furnished, with lovely home touches. Great location with a safe garden for little ones to play without being able to get out onto the road. Only reason it's not a 5* is that there is very little work surface in the kitchen to cook. There were 4 adults, a 3 yr old & a baby in our group & we had brought meals for 3 evenings and ate out a couple more which was just as well. The other thing which was a bit unexpected was the shower downstairs under the stairs. It was fine but there was no room in it to change. Apart from that a lovely house.

    Lovely cottage with fabulous sea views. The cottage has been beautifully furnished with every amenity you will need. It has a lovely garden where you can sit and listen to the sea. There is a village shop in Whiting Bay or a 10 min drive into Lamlash where there is a small Co-op. There is a pub just a 5 min walk away but we would advise booking for an evening meal as it is very popular. We loved the island and will go back!

    We really enjoyed our stay at Graham field. The house was beautifully presented and very well equipped. Lovely situation just opposite the beach with great views from the bedrooms. The weather was not so kind so we were rather rained on. My husband enjoyed the cycle around the island but not so much family friendly cycling sadly - would appreciate better signage and more cycle paths through the forests. Really super walks though, especially up to the waterfall and Giant graves. Goatfell was a challenge which we rose too as well. We enjoyed a good meal and a decent pint at the Ormidale Hotel in Brodick.

    Cottages & Castles Ltd. (acting as agents for property owners) provides a guarantee for tenants who have to cancel their holiday at a cottage.

    If it is necessary to cancel your holiday, for any of the reasons A 1-5 below, you may do so at any time up until the close of business on the last working day before your tenancy commences and we will refund your balance. Your deposit is not refundable. If you have made a late booking and paid in full you will receive your payment minus the normal deposit sum (usually 30%).

    There is no charge for this holiday protection – it is included in the cost of your holiday. Please note that the protection does not apply to holidays in our properties with codes beginning with P (usually castles, mansions and lodges).

    Deposits may be transferred to a different date for a holiday at the same property within 12 months of the original holiday date, subject to availability, but not, however, for a different property. If the new booking is at a higher rate the tenant must pay the extra cost. No refund will be made if the new date is at a lower rate.

    A:
    1. Death, accidental bodily injury, or illness (excluding pre-existing or chronic illness/conditions, or illness arising through epidemics or pandemics)
    a) the Proposer and/or persons with whom he/she has arranged to travel.
    b) any close relative or business associate of the Proposer or of any person with whom he/she has arranged to travel or arranged to meet at the specified holiday establishment. We will require appropriate documentary evidence of illness or bodily injury from a registered medical practitioner. This evidence must state that the Proposer is unfit to travel.

    2. Jury service, witness call or unemployment through redundancy of the Proposer after the date of booking and prior to the commencement date of the holiday.

    3. Fire or theft which is the subject of an insurance claim at the Insured’s main residence or business premises within seven days before commencement of the holiday.

    4. Occupational postings not contemplated at the time the holiday is booked.

    5. Cancellation or curtailment of scheduled transport services due to strikes, riots or civil commotion, but limited to the cost of alternative transport up to £50 per person for the outward journey only.

    But not, however:

    B:
    1. Disinclination to travel.

    2. Failure of public or private transport.

    3. Suicide, attempted suicide, insanity, the influence of intoxicating liquor or the effect of drugs not taken in accordance with treatment prescribed and directed by a qualified medical practitioner or booking a holiday which is or would be against the advice of a registered medical practitioner.

    4. Pregnancy unless problems occur which prevent the person travelling. A  verification must be signed by a registered medical practitioner to this effect

    5. Any loss which is otherwise insured.

    6. Holiday accommodation booked outside Great Britain, Northern Ireland, Isle of Man and the Channel Islands
