Set in over 1.5 acres, with rolling countryside views of the Spey Valley, Guisachan is a large home that serves as excellent holiday accommodation for families, fishing/sporting parties and whisky tourists alike. Comfortably sleeping 9(+1) in 5 spacious bedrooms, the property is ideal for those looking for a rural retreat which is easily accessible to nearby amenities and attractions.

Comprising of warm and welcoming social spaces throughout, Guisachan has been tastefully decorated and furnished to appeal to most. The large kitchen/dining area is perfect for cooking up a storm, with plenty of surface space to work with. The dining table extends to comfortably seat 10 people, so this can be changed to suit your party size. The living room is bright and comfortable, with an enormous selection of DVD’s to suit most tastes. The open fire is a fantastic feature of this room, so cosy up at night time with a glass of whatever you fancy, and make sure you put your feet up after a busy day of exploring Moray and the surrounding area. When the kids want to have their own space, there is a second small family room with a TV and Xbox One, meaning the adults can get a bit of peace and quiet! Each of the bedrooms has a stylish use of different coloured tartans, which adds character (along with the individually named rooms, which have been selected from various rivers in the Spey catchment). All of the double beds can be separated and made up as singles if required, offering complete flexibility for every party type.

Outside the garden is completely enclosed, thus making it perfect for those parties with children and/or dogs. The extensive garden offers ample space for those who wish to enjoy Moray’s dry climate and there is a range of outdoor furniture and a large BBQ for those wishing to eat outside. One half of the large garage is given over to guests and contains a table tennis table, a dart board and numerous outdoor games/sports equipment. It also offers ample space for those guests wishing to store fishing rods, bikes etc.

There are lots of nearby attractions on your doorstep - families, fishing/sporting parties and whisky aficionados will all love this property! Guisachan sits right in the heart of the Malt Whisky Trail and boasts uninterrupted views across the valley towards the new Macallan Visitors Centre. The River Spey and its various salmon fishing beats, including Easter Elchies, Craigellachie and Arndilly are just a short distance from the house itself. For walkers, The Speyside Way meanders close to the property and runs 107 kilometres from Aviemore to the spectacular Moray coastline. Nearby Ben Rinnes offers a challenge for hill-walkers, while cyclists can enjoy numerous countryside trails in this beautiful part of Moray as well as the Glenlivet Mountain Bike Trail Centre. The Lecht Ski Centre also lies within a short drive and offers skiing and snowboarding during the winter months.

For those who prefer less arduous pursuits, the hinterland offers a wealth of historic castles and buildings as well as a fantastic range of shopping and food related attractions, such as Johnstons of Elgin, Walkers Shortbread and the Baxter’s Visitors Centre.

    Holiday Protection Scheme

    Cottages & Castles Ltd. (acting as agents for property owners) provides a guarantee for tenants who have to cancel their holiday at a cottage.

    If it is necessary to cancel your holiday, for any of the reasons A 1-5 below, you may do so at any time up until the close of business on the last working day before your tenancy commences and we will refund your balance. Your deposit is not refundable. If you have made a late booking and paid in full you will receive your payment minus the normal deposit sum (usually 30%).

    There is no charge for this holiday protection – it is included in the cost of your holiday. Please note that the protection does not apply to holidays in our properties with codes beginning with P (usually castles, mansions and lodges).

    Deposits may be transferred to a different date for a holiday at the same property within 12 months of the original holiday date, subject to availability, but not, however, for a different property. If the new booking is at a higher rate the tenant must pay the extra cost. No refund will be made if the new date is at a lower rate.

    1. Death, accidental bodily injury, or illness (excluding pre-existing or chronic illness/conditions, or illness arising through epidemics or pandemics)
    a) the Proposer and/or persons with whom he/she has arranged to travel.
    b) any close relative or business associate of the Proposer or of any person with whom he/she has arranged to travel or arranged to meet at the specified holiday establishment. We will require appropriate documentary evidence of illness or bodily injury from a registered medical practitioner. This evidence must state that the Proposer is unfit to travel.

    2. Jury service, witness call or unemployment through redundancy of the Proposer after the date of booking and prior to the commencement date of the holiday.

    3. Fire or theft which is the subject of an insurance claim at the Insured’s main residence or business premises within seven days before commencement of the holiday.

    4. Occupational postings not contemplated at the time the holiday is booked.

    5. Cancellation or curtailment of scheduled transport services due to strikes, riots or civil commotion, but limited to the cost of alternative transport up to £50 per person for the outward journey only.

    But not, however:

    1. Disinclination to travel.

    2. Failure of public or private transport.

    3. Suicide, attempted suicide, insanity, the influence of intoxicating liquor or the effect of drugs not taken in accordance with treatment prescribed and directed by a qualified medical practitioner or booking a holiday which is or would be against the advice of a registered medical practitioner.

    4. Pregnancy unless problems occur which prevent the person travelling. A  verification must be signed by a registered medical practitioner to this effect

    5. Any loss which is otherwise insured.

    6. Holiday accommodation booked outside Great Britain, Northern Ireland, Isle of Man and the Channel Islands
