Stunning location Comfortable cottage and beautifully quiet Appreciated the fire!
    Mrs Pratt - June 2019
The cottage was perfect for us in every way. Great meals around the large table. Plenty of equipment in the kitchen. The open fire in the lounge was great on chilly evenings if we were unable to sit in the beautiful garden enjoying the sunset. The local farmer was really nice we enjoyed talking with him. The cottage would benefit from organisation of the information leaflets. It would have been good to know the village shop was open until 10:00pm. The butcher has great meat and the small shop seems to have everything you need . Would definitely stay again. This was a very peaceful and relaxing holiday with friends. It's a typical farm house so don't expect top of the range decor but it's very clean, well equipped and so comfortable.

We spent a great week in this charming house. The garden is beautiful and the view is just amazing. The different equipments are excellent, except maybe the wifi. Beds are comfortable. The kitchen as well as the utility room (washing machine) have all the necessary equipment. We particularly appreciated that the house has two bathrooms at the first level and an additional restroom at the ground floor. The house was very clean. We could also play table tennis. Parking is easy.

Really beautiful lovely rural setting. This could very well become a home away from home for our future visits. Our children loved being among the nature of cows- highland and dairy- sheep and lambs in the pen. They were able to run in and out in the garden where we could keep an eye on them. I can see lots of genuine opportunities for further developing attractions to the cottage and the farm.
    Mr Mccluskey - July 2016
What a fantastic place to stay! The cottage was absolutely wonderful. First of all, the photos don't lie: it is set in the most breathtaking surroundings, with rolling hills covered in sheep all around, an exquisite flowering garden in the back, and the barnyard just across. We actually got a rainbow across the skies the morning we left, which almost make our photos seem too good to be true! The cottage was spotless, and our host Sean was really helpful and so nice! The housekeeper had forgotten to set out towels for us, and he came running over with them, with a bottle of Scotch to apologize! Then he spent about half an hour with our teenage son showing him the lambs in the barn. Our whole experience was so idyllic and beautiful, we wished we didn't have to leave. This was an absolutely fantastic place to stay.
    Mr Gross - July 2016
Arrived Friday for long weekend. Beautiful and well presented/equipped house, with stunning views. Couldn't fault it!
    Mr Mcgregor - May 2016
Family and I really enjoyed our stay. Plenty of space and facilities in the cottage. Nice also to be surrounded by a working farm, hills, rivers and plenty of wildlife. Sean, Catherine and Derek (who work on the farm and estate) were really helpful, friendly and professional. Thanks again guys! Just a couple of things to highlight so other bookings can enjoy an even better time. The shower door is very stiff and does not close properly. Not a major problem for most. Tricky for children and anyone with reduced mobility/strength. Also it might only be a matter of time before the shower leaks. Also on the first night of our holiday the heating and hot water did not work. My Sister-In-Law and her two sons were quite cold in the night and cold showers are not the best when you are keen to warm! The following evening Sean visited the cottage and between us we got the heating and water going again. That said (if not already done) it might be worth getting a plumber to check over the system. Other than these slight hiccups our stay at Josephines Cottage was wonderful. The log/coal fire in the lounge was great. Thanks again.
    Mr Harding - March 2016
Was welcomed by the farmer and shown around. Cottage is spacious, very clean and tidy. A selection of snacks, milk, butter was avaialble. Beautiful views. Defenitely will be back and can recommend it for anyone who needs a quiet weekend or as a base to explore.
    Mr Meintjies - July 2015
A lovely setting with a wonderful garden. The cottage was spacious, clean and tidy with good basic facilities. As a party of 5 ranging from 15 to late 70`s we would definately go again, however the 15 year old was a little bored at times. Its all down to personal choice however and this cottage suited us perfectly for this holiday. Thank you.
