    Kennels Cottage reviews
We enjoyed our stay at Kennels cottage very much. Loved the cosy cottage and beautifull river north esk and area. Very helpful owners. Good for walking and lots of things to visit. We Loved the lunchroom Sinclair & larder in Edzell.
    Miss Braam - August 2019
So lovely to find a dog friendly cottage that means what it says. Our 3 dogs had a great time in this lovely huge garden and very secure we never had to worry about them getting out. The cottage had everything we needed and was well equipped. What a super location and we had the most glorious weather. Great to have the summer house and deck chairs for the garden which where well used. Hope to be back next year , so many places still to explore.
    Mrs Wilson - May 2019
The cottage was well appointed and comfortable. There were only two of us and dogs, it might be a bit cramped with 6 people it could sleep. The garden is large and secure for dogs to enjoy. The location is quite secluded being 6 miles from the town, it makes going out for dinner difficult since there is nowhere within walking distance. However it is a lovely location to enjoy. The cottage has sky tv for the nights in which is good, we had sun, rain frost and sleet yet the cottage was warm enough with the option of lighting a real fire. We would return to this cottage again.
    Mr Mckenna - March 2019
The cottage had everthing you need for the perfect relaxing break. Quiet No phone or internet signal Unbelievable scenery Well equipped kitchen Full sky package Coal fire with plenty of feul I could not make 1 single complaint about this cottage even the beds were comfy. And great to wake up open the curtain and watch the selection of tits feeding at the bird feeders. Also a wee woodpecker made the odd appearance. The kennels is the best cottage i have visited
    Mr Seel - October 2018
This was our second stay at Kennels Cottage. We had a wonderful stay with beautiful weather! We enjoyed the autumn colours and the sound of the deer in the surrounding hills! The cottage is well equipped and it was like going from "home to home".
    Mr Leautaud - October 2018
Lovely cottage , great location , large secure garden , nice view , privacy and tranquility , very well equipped , comfortable Drawbacks : no wifi , no mobile coverage , no washing machine , no proper shower facilities Overall : great value for money , highly recommended M. Alfaraj (from Kuwait)
    Mr Alfaraj - September 2018
    1. Master bed was brilliant. Best bed we've had on holiday for a long time :):) 2. Garden was fantastic to do dog training in. 3. Nicely tucked away with poor internet connectivity (a plus in this day and age). 4. More than happy to come and stay again. 5. Facilities were all really good - a very well equipped house (including a proper old fashioned, powerful Dyson) 6. Having Sky was really useful. 7. Could spend weeks trying to read all the books never mind the DVDs available.
    Mr Egan - September 2018
Felt value of stay price bit high & no welcome pack ie, a pint milk wee pack short bread so you could get a cuppa also dust all over house no logs for fire . Its a beautiful cottage so peaceful listening all birds had a woodpecker & cockoo visit the summer house good our dog loved it running all over garden its big . I like where little trees cleared away phone lines because you can see a bit loch tummel we enjoyed our stay .
    Mr Cooke - June 2018
This is a beautiful cottage, set in the most picturesque and tranquil location possible. We had a very relaxing and comfortable stay. The dog was in his element running round the front garden and the bird feeders outside the front window attract scores of birds, including a woodpecker. There are plenty of instructions around the place making it simple to find and operate everything. The beds were comfortable and there's Sky TV provided. There is no Wi-Fi there and I couldn't get a signal on my phone but that hasn't affected the rating I've given as this only added to the tranquillity of our holiday as a family. I would happily recommend this cottage to anyone.
    Mr Chaplin - July 2017
Fantastic cottage in a fantastic setting. Lots of walks in the area and great garden for the dog and kids.
    Mrs Ager - February 2017
Love visiting this cottage, everything is here from cloths, soap powder to coal. Some great walks in the area and near by. Very safe garden for kids and dog.
    Mrs Ager - February 2016
Kennels Cottage is in a spectacular situation and is a homely and comfortable country cottage. It is excellently equipped - with everything you think of in the kitchen. It has the feel of a 'lived-in' home, with books on shelves and ornaments etc dotted around, rather than a utilitarian holiday property for rent. Absolutely superb for the two dogs, with the enclosed wild garden space. The accommodation is reasonably spacious, with good-sized bedrooms, a cosy lounge, kitchen and dinning room. It was clean and ready for go when we arrived. We enjoyed the real fire in the lounge and the HD TV for the dark evenings. It has just the one very compact bathroom - but that is what was stated, so we were fine with that - and it is reflected in the reasonable price. One of our party who is over 6 feet tall found the doorway from kitchen to dining room somewhere he banged his head - and wondered if a warning notice could be placed there. However - this is a country cottage - comes with the territory. This is an area we have revisited and there is lots to do here. We enjoyed the walking, a visit to Loch of the Lowes nature reserve, a trip to the theatre in Pitlochry, a distillery visit and Scottish pub hospitality.
    Mrs White - October 2015
Loved everything about this cottage. We have been to many throughout Scotland but this is one of the best we have stayed in. Nice secure garden for the dog too. Kids (& us 2 adults) loved feeding and watching the birds. Had nice weather too for Feb. Not too far away from shops either in the lovely town of Pitlochry. Will be looking at booking here again for sure.
    Mrs Ager - February 2015
Really enjoyed this holiday. Very peaceful and weather was perfect. The summerhouse was unexpected and we made the most of it.
    Mrs Fisher - September 2014
We absolutely love our stay at kennels cottage. Possibly the only improvement would be a shower. Other than that a wonderful cottage and really enjoyed our stay. For the price you would find it difficult to find better just before the Easter break. Thank you
    Mr Qureshi - April 2014
Kennels cottage is a lovely homely cottage - but the "tantalising glimpses of the loch" are about a stamp size! It would also have been useful to have been warned in advance that the water was not drinkable and that we couldn't use the washing machine. It is also impractical to expect 4+ adults to survive without a shower having been out for a hard days walking! There is insufficient hot water to enable 3 reduced water baths, let alone 4+ decent baths.
    Mr Rawlings - July 2012
It was amazing when we first arrived at the cootage and saw where it was situated. It has amazing views and scenery! We were abit dissapointed when it comes to hot water, because on our first day we had nothing! And the fact that there was no one to greet us and show us around was abit wierd! But on the whole it was a great experience and if i could i would go again!
    Mr Axiaq - March 2012
WE loved The Kennels, having for many yearsof renting The Kennels at Baledmond we found these Kennels are far superior in comfort and extremely well equipped. the gardens were fantastic as thedogs couldn't get out. The only negative was the lack of shower facilities but it is understandable due to the lack of water pressure. I'm sure my skin and hair benifited. We wilbe back!!!
    Mrs Foster - January 2012
    Mr Lax - October 2011
Upon entering the cottage there was a 'doggy' smell but as this is an animal friendly cottage it is understandable. The toilet, bath and sink were clean but the floor around the edges was very dirty and dusty and the window was also very dirty with mould on the glass - I did clean these. My mother, who is 85, found the stairs very difficult and could not grip the handrail as it was a solid piece of wood against the wall. Also she can only shower and I had not noticed there was not a shower (my fault). However, I loved the cottage; its location, the outside space, the kitchen, and watching the birds.I would go back to the cottage again, but not with my mother.
    Mrs Parkinson - September 2011
The cottage is very well appointed though not for teenagers as there is only one bathroom and a bath with shower attachment. This one fault is the only fault the cottage has. The house has an open fire, bird feeders outside the living room window that provide endless fascination (8 species spotted on first day) and a wonderful situation for dog walking, exploring the countryside and also shopping in Pitlochry. This is my third visit to the cottage and I foresee many more.
    Dr Duncan - July 2011
Had a great weekend. fantastic cottage with the best equipped kitchen and excellent decor. Felt just like home. The bird feeders were awesome.... even saw woodpeckers at them and the garden was superb for the kids and dogs. Even the grown up kids had fun on the tarzee!!
    Mrs Morton - May 2011
We arrived during a period of very deep snow and the cottage provided the warm welcome we were looking for. It felt lived in, homely and everything you could think of was provided, from torches to lightbulbs to hot water bottles, games and of course beautiful scenery. As we were largely snowed in, we couldn't make the most of the walks etc, but cuddling up in front of the log fire more than made up for that - even our dog agreed!
    Miss Ballantyne - December 2010
Lovely house with excellent facilities. Enjoyed the coal fire and the birds coming to the many feeders outside the main window. Kitchen diner was very well appointed and a real bonus. Excellent, safe garden for dogs. Only one drawback and that was the lack of a shower - hand shower wasn't a good substitute but overall a very good holiday home. Have returned again as it was good value
    Dr Duncan - October 2010
Having stayed at various Cottages throughout Scotland ,Kennel's cottage was a nice wee place to visit, clean ,tidy and very quiet ,although the main road is just a few metres away, traffic noise wasnt very noticable, all the basics are there for you,and if you do require anything, a 20 min drive into town, gets what you need,Pitlochry ,great wee town, If there was one thing against the Cottage ,and it is small, its the steep stairs leading to the upstairs bathroom/bedrooms ,so on this point I would say its not suitable for anyone with a very young family. On the whole, I would'nt hesitate to Recommend it to friends or family.
    Mr Cochrane - September 2010
We had an excellent stay at Kennels Cottage. It was a great, relaxing time for all the family - our 2 teenage boys particularly enjoyed working through the DVD collection! It was an excellent base for walking and geocaching. It really felt like coming home at the end of a long walking/caching adventure. The accommodation was of an excellent standard - outstandingly good for the price we paid. We would highly recommend you stay at Kennels Cottage. Our dog, Fudge, really enjoyed her stay as well - it was great to be able to take her with us.
    Mrs Astles - July 2010
We had a lovely stay at Kennels Cottage and found it well furnished and with everything one would need. I would highly recommend it at any time. We hope to return againsoon.
