This traditional farmhouse is about 25 minutes drive from Brodick pier in a rural setting at the south of the Island, adjacent to a working farm.

Kilbride’s kitchen sports an oil-fired “Esse” and auxiliary electric facilities. There is ample space for dining around the farmhouse kitchen table. The generous living room has an open fire and television. The large Games Room offers ping-pong and miniature snooker/pool that are popular with children of all ages. Background heating by night storage units with auxiliary convection radiators throughout, in addition to the “Esse”.

The farmyard has a generally sheltered, southerly aspect with a covered patio area for relaxation and barbecues in almost all weather conditions. A children's adventure climbing frame has been installed on the front lawn.

Dogs are permitted by arrangement only and must remain on the tiled areas of the ground floor.

    Kilbride Farmhouse reviews
    This location was fantastic for our group of two families and 4 small kids. Plenty of space to play about the house (photos do not do the house justice), nice little garden and play area well off the road, and live farm next door which kids enjoyed looking at. Wifi and all other services in the house are great, plenty space in the kitchen and pretty much everything you need. Games room fantastic and even though pool table quite old, we got it to work. Beds all comfy and clean, likewise bathrooms. Great location for walking and lots of places to see and things to do very near to the house. We will be back.

    Well equipped, spacious and comfortable with big enclosed garden. Adventure playground was fantastic and we loved the remote feel, only sheep and rabbits for neighbours. Photos don't do it justice.

    This is a nice house in a good location. It's a good size with a lovely view and big garden. However there were a couple of minor niggles e.g. We had three families staying and the main bathroom did not lock. The window in the main bedroom was painted shut so the room was stifling especially in the current heatwave. There were no outdoor cushions for the garden furniture so we had to sit on the metal framed chairs. Despite indications that this is child friendly. It would appear that the rules are not. We were charged £50 for a tiny ink mark (culprit/cause as yet unidentified) on an 'irreplaceable' cushion. One wonders why you would have irreplaceable items in a rental property especially if you are expecting to have a range of visitors. Arran is a fantastic place, we had a wonderful time on this island and were actually very happy with the house. However this pettiness slightly dappened our trip and has marred our memories.

    We stayed at kilbride farmhouse on the Isle of Arran last week. The farmhouse is very spacious, clean and very well equipped. The new sofa is huge and so comfy. We didn't use the games room as we had so much to see and do. Unless you love walking you do need to use the bus or have a car, the creamery is within a short walk. There is a shore within a short walk, you could be lucky seeing the seals while you're there. The farmers who have the barns around the farmhouse are friendly and it was lovely to see the cows and sheep being herded past the vast garden. The garden is to the front of the house and a large yard to the back with a stone built barbeque/pizza oven. Often saw the rabbits playing in the front garden. If you hit on looking with the weather it's an amazing island to see. We will definitely be returning. The pictures on here do not do it justice

    Well laid out farmhouse for the family everything provided you need. In middle of nowhere and bus comes only couple times a day so woukd be great for a quite holiday, for walkers or bring your car to explore. Would recommend. It’s not perfect as it’s a typical farmhouse but it’s comfy and warm

    The house was very spacious and very clean and comfortable.The outdoor area with climiing frame and large garden were great for the kids.It was very well equipped with plenty of glasses and crockery and games room was much appreciated.Only downside was that all the windows to the front of the house were unable to be opened making the bedrooms stuffy and possibly a fire hazard Had great food at Felicity's , Kildonan hotel and Blackwaterfoot lodge.Disappointed to find that after driving to Lagg Hotel for dinner they had no chef! Would stay here again.

    Lots of space and great for families with large garden, games room and big farmhouse kitchen. Quite a remote location, which means we spent a fair bit of time travelling each day, but there are some beautiful views and coastline around.

    Fabulous value for money Lots of social space for sitting and dining together as a family. Including games-room and outside space. Only downfall was there was only one couples room (was with my married children) (Our inspiration was a family getaway, not on your list)

    Arran is an amazing island and we visit year after year during all seasons. Our favourite spot is Blackwaterfoot. Drumadoon Bay, Shiskine Golf Course whether you golf or not and fantastic walks along the beach. Everyone must try the Bakehouse for the most delicious fresh bread everyday and the varying treats. There is always a friendly welcome for you and your dog at the back bar of the Kinloch Hotel so pop in for a pint. Kilbride Farmhouse is clean, comfortable, has lots of space and offers great value for money for larger groups. Just a bit too far away from most things for us , but that could be perfect for others.

    Great place for extended families to stay and plenty room. We particularly enjoyed sitting in the garden with the sheep in the adjacent field. The children enjoyed visiting the cows in the barn. Only downside was we could not find any cushions for the chairs outside.

    I am still waiting to hear back from the property regarding the broken blind in one of the bedrooms. We contacted them as soon as we discovered it was broken and have had no response what so ever. It spoilt our holiday as my son had set his heart on sleeping in that room from when he first saw a picture of it on the web site. The property is advertised as 4 bedrooms when in fact only 3 were usable-we opted for a property with 4 bedrooms to give us the choice and flexibility! It is all well and good having the good housekeeping deposit to protect the owners, but can some one please tell me what protection the customer has when the property is not up to standard and the customer is blatantly ignored by the owner? Upon departure we filled in the owners questionnaire and again requested feedback on the broken blind but have still had no response.
    Owners Response: "Our cleaner reports that the blind is one supplied specifically by Velux, to fit a Velux window and was broken previously at Kilbride and not reported. She advises that the blind could be fixed in the closed position to exclude daylight, without difficulty. We regret the unsightliness of the broken blind, insofar as it would not roll up when not in use. A new blind is on order from Velux, but things do take longer to arrange at such a relatively remote location."

    Kilbride farmhouse was an excellent choice for me and my grown up family and their children.It was roomy and had a nice safe garden area,the playroom is fantastic and allowed the children their own area to play in. Rooms were lovely and the huge table meant we could all eat together. It was fairly remote but within walking distance of Lagg (even for a 3 yr old) where there is a nice hotel. Enough bathrooms for everyone to get ready in the morning and the range kept the house toasty. Stairgate high chair and travel cot provided and everything you would need.

    Cottages & Castles Ltd. (acting as agents for property owners) provides a guarantee for tenants who have to cancel their holiday at a cottage.

    If it is necessary to cancel your holiday, for any of the reasons A 1-5 below, you may do so at any time up until the close of business on the last working day before your tenancy commences and we will refund your balance. Your deposit is not refundable. If you have made a late booking and paid in full you will receive your payment minus the normal deposit sum (usually 30%).

    There is no charge for this holiday protection – it is included in the cost of your holiday. Please note that the protection does not apply to holidays in our properties with codes beginning with P (usually castles, mansions and lodges).

    Deposits may be transferred to a different date for a holiday at the same property within 12 months of the original holiday date, subject to availability, but not, however, for a different property. If the new booking is at a higher rate the tenant must pay the extra cost. No refund will be made if the new date is at a lower rate.

    A:
    1. Death, accidental bodily injury, or illness (excluding pre-existing or chronic illness/conditions, or illness arising through epidemics or pandemics)
    a) the Proposer and/or persons with whom he/she has arranged to travel.
    b) any close relative or business associate of the Proposer or of any person with whom he/she has arranged to travel or arranged to meet at the specified holiday establishment. We will require appropriate documentary evidence of illness or bodily injury from a registered medical practitioner. This evidence must state that the Proposer is unfit to travel.

    2. Jury service, witness call or unemployment through redundancy of the Proposer after the date of booking and prior to the commencement date of the holiday.

    3. Fire or theft which is the subject of an insurance claim at the Insured’s main residence or business premises within seven days before commencement of the holiday.

    4. Occupational postings not contemplated at the time the holiday is booked.

    5. Cancellation or curtailment of scheduled transport services due to strikes, riots or civil commotion, but limited to the cost of alternative transport up to £50 per person for the outward journey only.

    But not, however:

    B:
    1. Disinclination to travel.

    2. Failure of public or private transport.

    3. Suicide, attempted suicide, insanity, the influence of intoxicating liquor or the effect of drugs not taken in accordance with treatment prescribed and directed by a qualified medical practitioner or booking a holiday which is or would be against the advice of a registered medical practitioner.

    4. Pregnancy unless problems occur which prevent the person travelling. A  verification must be signed by a registered medical practitioner to this effect

    5. Any loss which is otherwise insured.

    6. Holiday accommodation booked outside Great Britain, Northern Ireland, Isle of Man and the Channel Islands
