Description

Glorious Glen Garry is on the stunning ‘Road to the Isles’ stretching from the Great Glen to the Isle of Skye. Kingie Cottage is an ideal base for exploring Loch Ness & the Fort William area. Fort William is just 40 miles and the Skye Bridge is just 45 miles away along stunning Glen Shiel, which makes for a lovely drive. 1 Kingie Cottages, located at Kingie, is a pleasantly decorated and furnished cottage, which would suit walkers and those seeking a remote getaway. Two miles along the road is the dam at Loch Quoich whose man-made austerity is in complete contrast to the Glen's rugged natural beauty. Glen Garry is a large forest area in an idylic setting with Loch Garry to the north boundary and Ben Tee to the south. The River Garry is home to the Atlantic salmon which every year migrate up through the falls and in to the upper river to spawn. Cycling is allowed on the forest roads.

    It deserves five star but I gave four star the only star I didn’t give because of internet and signal problem pls try to improve that part I will visit same place again in next summer

    A very nice cottage in a spectacular glen. The views are splendid, and the deer literally come to the door. Lots of interesting walks around. Even the man-made part of the landscape, the power station (which is hidden from view and not intrusive at all) is well worth a visit. It is a pity that the brochure did not mention that there is more than one Kingie Cottage, but we understood straight away that we were in No1. The narrow road to Invergarry requires some driving skills, but this adds to the charm. The amenities are very good, the cootage has all you may need. One of the rooms can get a bit cold but a heater is provided, and there is central heating too. I wish we could stay for longer!

    A lovely property with easily enough space for six and all the items you could need cooking wise Some nice walks nearby and definitely worth driving all the way to Kinlochhourn...a stunning journey and eventual location Midges were an issue but that's the case across the Highlands....and many tame deer could be seen roaming about No wifi reception or mobile reception...bliss in some ways but was expecting a wifi connection according to the notes...you have to drive 20 minutes into Invergarry to get anything resembling a reception

    Kingie cottage is clean, well maintained, and in a great location. During our stay we saw a golden eagle and deer visited the garden most days.Mr and Mrs Cameron who look after the cottage were very helpful, and the fishing was great.

    No 1 Kingie is situated in the nature, 30 minutes driving from the main road between Inverness and Fort william. The nearest supermarket is more than 1 hour drive, no internet nor celular phone connection... The appartment is nice, big, clean and comfortable. It has a nice garden but during our stay there was a big problem of mosquitos, we couldn't stay out of the house and we had to shut all the windows because of them even though we were bitten severly .

    No 1 Kingie offers comfort and warmth combined with stunning scenery and wildlife galore! The cottage is well appointed and spotlessly clean. Large, comnfortable sitting room, three bedrooms, great sized bathroom and a kitchen big enough for any cooking job! It is a very warm, cosy place. The garden is full of lovely birds and deer tiptoe down the drive on the outside of the fence. There are enough walks to last a lifetime and the area is a photographers' paradise. Lovers of the outdoors will be delighted with this cottage and its surroundings. If you are searching for peace and quiet, wildlife and breathtaking surroundings No 1 Kingie can certainly offer all of that and more. A special mention to Mrs Cameron and her husband, John. They were friendly, knowledgable and fun. They answered all my silly questions about the deer and places in the area - I hope to meet them again on my next trip.

    Cottages & Castles Ltd. (acting as agents for property owners) provides a guarantee for tenants who have to cancel their holiday at a cottage.

    If it is necessary to cancel your holiday, for any of the reasons A 1-5 below, you may do so at any time up until the close of business on the last working day before your tenancy commences and we will refund your balance. Your deposit is not refundable. If you have made a late booking and paid in full you will receive your payment minus the normal deposit sum (usually 30%).

    There is no charge for this holiday protection – it is included in the cost of your holiday. Please note that the protection does not apply to holidays in our properties with codes beginning with P (usually castles, mansions and lodges).

    Deposits may be transferred to a different date for a holiday at the same property within 12 months of the original holiday date, subject to availability, but not, however, for a different property. If the new booking is at a higher rate the tenant must pay the extra cost. No refund will be made if the new date is at a lower rate.

    A:
    1. Death, accidental bodily injury, or illness (excluding pre-existing or chronic illness/conditions, or illness arising through epidemics or pandemics)
    a) the Proposer and/or persons with whom he/she has arranged to travel.
    b) any close relative or business associate of the Proposer or of any person with whom he/she has arranged to travel or arranged to meet at the specified holiday establishment. We will require appropriate documentary evidence of illness or bodily injury from a registered medical practitioner. This evidence must state that the Proposer is unfit to travel.

    2. Jury service, witness call or unemployment through redundancy of the Proposer after the date of booking and prior to the commencement date of the holiday.

    3. Fire or theft which is the subject of an insurance claim at the Insured’s main residence or business premises within seven days before commencement of the holiday.

    4. Occupational postings not contemplated at the time the holiday is booked.

    5. Cancellation or curtailment of scheduled transport services due to strikes, riots or civil commotion, but limited to the cost of alternative transport up to £50 per person for the outward journey only.

    But not, however:

    B:
    1. Disinclination to travel.

    2. Failure of public or private transport.

    3. Suicide, attempted suicide, insanity, the influence of intoxicating liquor or the effect of drugs not taken in accordance with treatment prescribed and directed by a qualified medical practitioner or booking a holiday which is or would be against the advice of a registered medical practitioner.

    4. Pregnancy unless problems occur which prevent the person travelling. A  verification must be signed by a registered medical practitioner to this effect

    5. Any loss which is otherwise insured.

    6. Holiday accommodation booked outside Great Britain, Northern Ireland, Isle of Man and the Channel Islands
