Set in an elevated position near the River Tay, Laigh of Cloichfoldich sits in the desirable location of Strathtay in Perthshire. Everyone will appreciate and enjoy the tranquil surroundings of this cottage and its large garden that is perfect for families and dog owners alike. Inside, the cottage has been newly upgraded with the holiday maker in mind. Each room has been brightly decorated with a different colour theme throughout which adds to the quirky and appealing character of the property. The tastefully decorated kitchen, although compact in size, contains everything you will need during your holiday. The dining room has a beautiful, large wooden table that is perfect for family mealtimes, and there is a games room with table tennis for those who are looking for something to entertain themselves in the evenings. The living room has two cosy sofas with plenty of seating for the whole family, with a wood-burning stove as the focal point. The bedrooms are spacious and bright, each with views of the garden or of the vast hills to the rear of the property. Out in the garden you’ll find a large dining patio with table and chairs, perfect for an al fresco evening. The main attraction, though, is the wood-burning hot tub - a relaxing soak under the stars is the ideal way to relax after a day in the hills! Laigh of Cloichfoldich is the perfectly peaceful retreat that everyone will love.

Laigh of Cloichfoldich serves as a perfect base for exploring Perthshire. The picturesque town of Aberfeldy is just 6 miles away, with its fantastic community-owned cinema and Pitlochry, the quintessential Scottish holiday town, is around 11 miles from the cottage. Both places have great restaurants, cafes and shops to enjoy, with events such as The Enchanted Forest taking place throughout the year. Perth itself is a 45 minute drive away.

This is the perfect property for guests who are looking to have an adventure-filled holiday in the great outdoors. For both beginners and serious walkers alike, there are many Munros and walking trails in the area, each with varying difficulties. There are numerous routes and trails for bikers to enjoy, with the National Cycle Route 7 from Inverness running through Pitlochry, right past the cottage and then on to Aberfeldy and down to Carlisle. For those who are after an adrenaline rush, you can go rafting down Grandtully white water rapids - if you are happy to brave the cold! For a more relaxing activity, the River Tay itself is renowned for its salmon fishing, which you can book yourself online.

The Cottage was an absolute delight, our perfect getaway off the beaten track, with fields, trees & wild life. It was equipped with everything you need & more, we tend to eat in, we didnt want for any kitchen equipment equipment & if we'd forgotten store cupboard ingredients they were available. The cottage was more than roomy, comfortable beds, 2 showers & the hot tub was the icing on the cake, even drizzle at 10pm didnt spoil the fun of the hot tub & the robes provided were an excellent touch. The welcome pack was a lovely touch. The house was pet friendly & the garden was big enough for 2 big boys (dogs) to have a good run about. The only negative for us was sadly the garden was not fully enclosed & with one of the boys (dog) being deaf he could not be left alone in the garden in case he wondered off. We would definitely stay again & the cherry on top would be the garden or part of it fully enclosed.

This was our second visit to the cottage, having had a great New Year here (loved it so much we rebooked the day we got back!). The late spring weather was beautiful and the house perfect. It's a great location, really comfortable, spacious, with a secure garden for the dog, a well-equipped kitchen (not always the case with holiday rentals) and the addition of the wood-fired hot tub is terrific and sure to be a big hit with future visitors. It's a great base for exploring Perthshire and beyond - this time we did a bit of wild swimming in the burn at Carie forest near Loch Rannoch and at the Falls of Balnaguard as well as trips to the Falls of Acharn on the south side of Loch Tay, Glen Lyon and Ben Lawers. Highly recommend a visit to Ballintaggart Farm at nearby Balnaguard too - the food is fantastic and there's a spectacular view of the surrounding countryside from the outdoor terrace. They also run brilliant cooking workshops which are definitely worth checking out for guests who love good food or are interested in learning new kitchen skills.

Lovely clean comfortable cottage, everything we needed for the 6 nights was there. Great location on the outskirts of Pitlochry. Loved sitting out in the gardens which my dog loved and listening to the birds and seeing the occasional red squirrel. The Ian Burnett highland chocolatier was handy for a tasty hot chocolate or coffee and cake which is just a mile away in Strathtay. Richard the owner keeps you well informed to make your stay very welcoming and make everything run smoothly. We will be back in the near future:-)

We absolutely adored Laigh of Cloichfoldich. Perfect in every way and already making plans to go back. Thanks to Cottages & Castles for yet another amazing holiday.

This cottage had everything you need for a relaxing break.

I just wanted to follow up and say how much we loved our stay! The cottage was a lovely size for our family, and very nicely furnished. It really had everything we needed, from a well-appointed kitchen down to thoughtful "extras" such as bath soap and the lovely basket of goodies. We had such a great time area exploring the area - Aberfeldy, Killin, the Crannog center, Pitlochry, Castle Menzies. (No-one in the family believed me when I said there was a castle only 5 miles away!) And we were still able to do day trips to Edinburgh, St Andrews, and Balmoral. What a good home base for our adventures! Again I want to pass on our appreciation for such a lovely stay.
    Mr Hamilton - July 2017
We enjoyed spending New Year at the Laigh of Cloichfoldich. The cottage is ideally situated to reach a number of local towns and villages and was easy to find. Detailed instructions and photos were provided by the owner which really made things very easy. The cottage was very well provisioned, particularly in the kitchen and a thoughtful hamper added that extra touch. The bedrooms were large and amply decorated, although some mirrors and perhaps a chest of drawers would really finish them off. Similarly, a mirror in the bathroom would have made the room complete. We won't hesitate to go back again in the future to enjoy spending time in the Pitlochry area.
