    Loch Nest reviews
Had a wonderful week here. Ideal surroundings just to chill out and relax. Loch Nest itself was all we could ask for and more. Spacious, well equipped and spotlessly clean
    Mr Grainger - June 2019
When we arrived at Loch Nest we couldn’t believe our eyes. It is a stunning building in a superb setting and when we went inside everything was perfect. Even on a rainy day you could happily sit and watch the wildlife, and when the sun came out take a short walk to the loch.
    Mr Porter - May 2019
The property was very nice and secluded, also was meant to be peaceful and to most of the time it was. Finding the property was ok, key access very good heating on ready for us. We had issues with the TVs 3 remotes confusing following the instructions left did not work pictures on all itv channels kept freezing, we did speak to the lady house keeper the next day who came across that because we were the only people that had raised the issue that it was us in the wrong and she would try to get round to look at it, note left saying sorted but no different we did not bother her again as seemed a burden we just got by. No can opener. The cottage is attached to the main house and we were expecting to have a very quit Xmas recouping from a car accident, we were disturbed a number of times by noisy children in the mornings and evenings. The add stated for two and a double bed, it was two single beds, we pushed them together but first night they moved apart to we kept them as two singles Overall a very nice place we have been to the same area for last three years don't let my comments put you of but we would not re book but it was a nice cottage and area
Owners Response: "Thank you for alerting me to the missing tin opener which I have now rectified. Regarding the TV not working, I apologize for the inconvenience it caused. As soon as we were informed my husband went to the cottage to sign in to his account the STV (ITV) channel which he later checked to confirm was fully working. It is the same set up as the BBC iplayer and we will add further TV instructions in the manual. It is also unfortunate that the manner of the housekeeper did not come across as well as expected and we will now highlight the expectation for guests to call me directly to come and help with such matters in future. We understand your disappointment at being disturbed by the noise of children during your stay - perhaps one of our detached properties such as The Old School House or The Garden Cottage would have been a better match for your stay on that occasion. As indicated on the website, Loch Nest is an annexed to a big house where several families and their children were celebrating Christmas. I have contacted Cottages and Castles to find out how we can know in advance if customers prefer twin or double beds as the bed does zip together as a proper double and we have double sheets and a double duvet for it. I would happily have made the conversion to a double if I had know this was your preference. Thanks again for the feedback and wish you all the best for 2019."
    Mr Jordan - December 2018
We really enjoyed our stay at Loch Nest. It's such a large and well equipped holiday house for having only one bedroom. I'd definitely recommend it! The beer and shortbread were excellent. The estate is quiet and peaceful with lots of great walks right from the door. We really appreciated the generous kitchen space for cooking and the choice of spaces for playing tabletop games. The underfloor heating was also greatly appreciated for cosy nights.
    Miss Simons - September 2018
Loch Nest is a perfect escape to the country. Super clean with well stocked kitchen, it has wonderful character with a great selection of books and even puzzles - perfect for lazing away an afternoon if the weather is inclement. The estate boasts great walks, a walled garden, and we stumbled on Loch Farr which was gorgeous. Underfloor heating made the temperature comfortable and cozy, even though it was snowing most of our visit! Especially enjoyed the superb cheese shop, The Cheese Pantry at Connage, with encyclopedic array of cheeses including several of their own and the Cawdor Tavern. Can't recommend Loch Nest highly enough!
    Mrs Bitman - February 2018
Lovely spacious self contained apartment finished to a high standard with everything we needed for a week away. The welcome package (tea, milk, bread, but also local a couple beers and treats) was a very nice, helpful touch - and just what we needed after a long journey! The setting was wonderful; quiet and tranquil the house was surrounded by woodland and fields, with Loch Farr only 200m away. The opening in the hedge to the loch revealed an impressive horizon. We were there for Christmas and had snow, which made it even more beautiful. The house itself is warm, comfortable and fully equipped - for anyone who likes to cook, there is ample equipment and you will only need to bring bespoke utensils and equipment. Ample hot water and heating, there is an amazing shower and bath.
