This self catering holiday accommodation is modern and well equipped to provide all the home comforts that you may need. Decorated and furnished to a very high standard, you are sure to enjoy a comfortable stay in this lovely holiday house.

Mingulay has been designed to make the best of the spectacular views with a magnificent sun room with French doors leading to large south facing secluded patio and 1.5 acre fenced garden.

The patio, which has French door access to the dining room, is a perfect spot to enjoy a BBQ or just sit back and relax on the garden furniture provided.

All in all, Mingulay is a delightful property in an idyllic location for a relaxing and peaceful holiday with the added attraction of the Badachro Inn on the waterfront set in one of the most scenic locations on the West Coast of Scotland being a mere 5 minute walk away.

    A great house for a group of friends walking and catching up. House warm and welcoming, bedrooms spacious and comfortable and the three bathrooms especially welcome. The kitchen/dining room a natural congregation spot. Plenty of storage space, room to hang coats leave boots &c. Extremely well insulate against the elements, with maximum advantage taken of the views on to mountains and sea. Even the weather played ball (more or less), though we sadly just missed the early summer scorcher in late May!

    A beautiful house in staggeringly beautiful country. It was quiet and peaceful which is what we needed. The only negative point (which I think has been true of every house I ever rented both in this country and abroad) is that the kitchen utensils need to be updated etc. I have learnt, and take such things as sharp knives with me. This is however minor compared with all that was good about this beautiful house. A great holiday.

    We loved our stay in Mingulay, Badachro. The views from the house were stunning, and the children enjoyed the wee short cut to the bay. The two living rooms were comfortable and light, with great views - the house had everything we needed and more. We had a lovely meal in the Badachro Inn and our ice creams from Latitude 57. A great house and base to explore Gairloch. Would recommend Redpoint and Mellon Udrigle, both really beautiful. We'll be back in the area as soon as we can and thoroughly recommend Mingulay.

    We had a really lovely week in this beautiful house in July. The house is so spacious, and equipped with everything that you could possibly need - including an excellent high chair and travel cot for the one-year-old in our party! We loved sitting and taking in the beautiful views over the bay, and watching the boats sail past, from the sitting room or sun room. We enjoyed kayaking from just below the house in Badachro, paddling and making sand castles on Big Sand (access via the camp site) and Gairloch beaches, and walking from Gairloch and Poolewe. And on a rainy day there was no better place to relax than the wonderful Mountain Cafe and adjacent bookshop in Gairloch! We can thoroughly recommend Mingulay for an excellent holiday for all ages.

    The location is lovely. Quiet with fantastic views across the water to gairloch. We enjoyed watching the changing weather from the sunroom. A well appointed house which is comfortable. We loved the local badachro inn which is friendly and has great food!

    Very comfortable, well appointed house. We had a great two weeks although the weather was not very kind with very few sunny days. However we visited the lovely beaches in the area particularly Red Point and Gairloch and the grand children had a great time. Although slightly further afield at Loch Ewe the beach at Firmore is perhaps the best and a lot less crowded than the others. The local pub at Badachro Inn is only five minutes walk away and serves good pub fare and excellent real ales. The shops in Gairloch are well stocked and the butcher in particular is very good.

    Really lovely house, very well equipped, spacious, plenty of room for four of us. The view was quite amazing, we could have looked out of the window all day long, too many other interesting things to do!! We have stayed in many houses in the Gairloch/Badachro area and Mingulay is quite the best.

    Having stayed at Mingulay before we knew what to expect. The new sun room is a lovely addition and aided the views of the stunning sunsets. We were a little disappointed there was no welcome pack which seems to be the norm these days with holiday properties but that is a minor detail. House comfortable if needing a little updating on kitchen and equipment. Overall though for the price it was a very good week.

    Mingulay is a fantastic house in a great location. It's well appointed and comfortable with wonderful views. It's in a great spot with all our favourite hills within relatively easy access. Not far from some good crags for climbing too. Lovely costal and beach walks too for wild days or those that don't want to climb mountains. We've been before and will go back again. It's got a lovely sun room where you look out on Badachro Bay. You could sit there for hours. Nice garden too if the weather allows you to sit out or you have children that want to run about. Badachro Inn is a short walk from the house and offers good food and hospitality. Good coffee shops in the area include the Bridge in Poolewe, The Mountain Cafe and Bookshop in Gairloch, Torridon Store and Cafe in Torridon Village, The Whistlestop in Kinlochewe and the Aroma Cafe at the Perfumerie near Aultbea. Can't wait to go back again.

    The house was everything we expected and more. We had more than enough room. Each room had a lovely views along with binoculars, books and magazines. There must have been TVs in almost every room but we never turned them on. Many places to walk to from the house itself; even more to drive to. Very centrally located.

    Mingulay is a great well-equipped modern house with plenty of space. The views from the living space are stunning. Although there are other houses on the development it is very quite and it is a only a short walk to the village and the excellent Badachro Inn. Although there wasjust the two of us, we could see the house working well for a family or two couples.

    Holiday Protection Scheme

    Cottages & Castles Ltd. (acting as agents for property owners) provides a guarantee for tenants who have to cancel their holiday at a cottage.

    If it is necessary to cancel your holiday, for any of the reasons A 1-5 below, you may do so at any time up until the close of business on the last working day before your tenancy commences and we will refund your balance. Your deposit is not refundable. If you have made a late booking and paid in full you will receive your payment minus the normal deposit sum (usually 30%).

    There is no charge for this holiday protection – it is included in the cost of your holiday. Please note that the protection does not apply to holidays in our properties with codes beginning with P (usually castles, mansions and lodges).

    Deposits may be transferred to a different date for a holiday at the same property within 12 months of the original holiday date, subject to availability, but not, however, for a different property. If the new booking is at a higher rate the tenant must pay the extra cost. No refund will be made if the new date is at a lower rate.

    A:
    1. Death, accidental bodily injury, or illness (excluding pre-existing or chronic illness/conditions, or illness arising through epidemics or pandemics)
    a) the Proposer and/or persons with whom he/she has arranged to travel.
    b) any close relative or business associate of the Proposer or of any person with whom he/she has arranged to travel or arranged to meet at the specified holiday establishment. We will require appropriate documentary evidence of illness or bodily injury from a registered medical practitioner. This evidence must state that the Proposer is unfit to travel.

    2. Jury service, witness call or unemployment through redundancy of the Proposer after the date of booking and prior to the commencement date of the holiday.

    3. Fire or theft which is the subject of an insurance claim at the Insured’s main residence or business premises within seven days before commencement of the holiday.

    4. Occupational postings not contemplated at the time the holiday is booked.

    5. Cancellation or curtailment of scheduled transport services due to strikes, riots or civil commotion, but limited to the cost of alternative transport up to £50 per person for the outward journey only.

    But not, however:

    B:
    1. Disinclination to travel.

    2. Failure of public or private transport.

    3. Suicide, attempted suicide, insanity, the influence of intoxicating liquor or the effect of drugs not taken in accordance with treatment prescribed and directed by a qualified medical practitioner or booking a holiday which is or would be against the advice of a registered medical practitioner.

    4. Pregnancy unless problems occur which prevent the person travelling. A  verification must be signed by a registered medical practitioner to this effect

    5. Any loss which is otherwise insured.

    6. Holiday accommodation booked outside Great Britain, Northern Ireland, Isle of Man and the Channel Islands
