Overlooking the Findhorn Bay, Monessie is a newly renovated property that sits in a spectacular position, with panoramic views across the bay. This traditional property has been completely modernised to a high standard throughout, and contains many luxurious aspects that holidaymakers will love.

The sitting room and dining room are located at the front of the property, meaning the waterside views from the window are truly lovely. There is no TV in this room (who could take their eyes off that view, after all!) but there is a separate, smaller lounge for a quiet or TV room.

The kitchen/dining area is a great room that everyone will love. The kitchen contains all of the modern appliances and the dining room is host to a long table with colourful chairs around it that really ‘pop’ against the sleek, minimalist backdrop of the kitchen - a beautiful, contemporary space.

A stunning ANTA tartan carpet leads you up the staircase to three further bedrooms. Each room has been tastefully decorated and furnished to a high standard, in keeping with the style of the rest of the house.

The bathroom on the ground floor has been adapted for wheelchair users, and one of the bedrooms connects to this bathroom making this property disability friendly. There is a separate WC off the hall and both the front and back gardens have disabled access.

Findhorn is a great holiday destination, with plenty to do in the village itself. Hire a kayak or paddleboard and potter around in the bay at your leisure, or take a boat trip out to spot bird and marine life, with dolphins if you are lucky. Monessie is right in the heart of the village, with the pubs, shop, cafe and bakery all within a short walk. Further afield, there are lots of golf courses, walking trails and various historical sites in the surrounding area that are worth a visit, so you won’t be stuck for things to do during your break at this fantastic property.

  • The TV does not have Freeview signal, but has access to internet based apps such as Netflix, Amazon Prime and catch up on demand. There is also access to Now TV.
  • Entertainment and Sky Movies package.
  • No smoking in the house or in garden - this includes the use of e-cigarettes.
  • No food or drink is to be taken upstairs.
  • Sorry, no animals of any kind are permitted at Monessie under any circumstances.

    Great property well furnished and kitted out. Very good Garden space with many sitting options . It is looked looking out directly over Findhorn bay Very good pub with food 300 yds and at rear local bakery and coffee shop 250 yds both very good Can walk to beach or drive with easy parking

    The house is perfect, house and gardens renovated beautifully. We had lovely weather. Sitting outside the front of the house with amazing views watching the world go by was great. House was of a very high standard by way of comfort and equipment. We could not have asked for a more relaxing break, we did not want to leave.

    Holiday Protection Scheme

    Cottages & Castles Ltd. (acting as agents for property owners) provides a guarantee for tenants who have to cancel their holiday at a cottage.

    If it is necessary to cancel your holiday, for any of the reasons A 1-5 below, you may do so at any time up until the close of business on the last working day before your tenancy commences and we will refund your balance. Your deposit is not refundable. If you have made a late booking and paid in full you will receive your payment minus the normal deposit sum (usually 30%).

    There is no charge for this holiday protection – it is included in the cost of your holiday. Please note that the protection does not apply to holidays in our properties with codes beginning with P (usually castles, mansions and lodges).

    Deposits may be transferred to a different date for a holiday at the same property within 12 months of the original holiday date, subject to availability, but not, however, for a different property. If the new booking is at a higher rate the tenant must pay the extra cost. No refund will be made if the new date is at a lower rate.

    1. Death, accidental bodily injury, or illness (excluding pre-existing or chronic illness/conditions, or illness arising through epidemics or pandemics)
    a) the Proposer and/or persons with whom he/she has arranged to travel.
    b) any close relative or business associate of the Proposer or of any person with whom he/she has arranged to travel or arranged to meet at the specified holiday establishment. We will require appropriate documentary evidence of illness or bodily injury from a registered medical practitioner. This evidence must state that the Proposer is unfit to travel.

    2. Jury service, witness call or unemployment through redundancy of the Proposer after the date of booking and prior to the commencement date of the holiday.

    3. Fire or theft which is the subject of an insurance claim at the Insured’s main residence or business premises within seven days before commencement of the holiday.

    4. Occupational postings not contemplated at the time the holiday is booked.

    5. Cancellation or curtailment of scheduled transport services due to strikes, riots or civil commotion, but limited to the cost of alternative transport up to £50 per person for the outward journey only.

    But not, however:

    1. Disinclination to travel.

    2. Failure of public or private transport.

    3. Suicide, attempted suicide, insanity, the influence of intoxicating liquor or the effect of drugs not taken in accordance with treatment prescribed and directed by a qualified medical practitioner or booking a holiday which is or would be against the advice of a registered medical practitioner.

    4. Pregnancy unless problems occur which prevent the person travelling. A  verification must be signed by a registered medical practitioner to this effect

    5. Any loss which is otherwise insured.

    6. Holiday accommodation booked outside Great Britain, Northern Ireland, Isle of Man and the Channel Islands
