Escape to nature and enjoy a break in this charming Highlands cottage, where you''ll find no neighbours for miles around you, and the absence of a TV and Wi-Fi allowing you to enjoy some quality family time.

Situated half a mile off the main road and approached via a farm track, this four-bedroom remote retreat is perfect for families seeking a secluded getaway from the distractions of modern life. Located on a beautiful highland estate, this former shepherd’s cottage offers walks from the doorstep through the tranquil countryside with deer and livestock for company. You’re not completely isolated though, the quiet village of Cannich is less than 3 miles away where you will find a village store, well-regarded pub, and a mobile phone signal.

Your traditional stone cottage sits in splendid isolation surrounded by the wild and beautiful Glen Cannich. With no TV signal, mobile phone signal or Wi-Fi, this property presents an opportunity for you to spend uninterrupted time together playing board games, sharing leisurely meals together and chatting in front of the cosy open fire.

Approached via a farm track, your spacious cottage is surrounded by rolling hills and open fields with grazing livestock. Step inside your rural hideaway where you will find comfortable rooms blending traditional features and modern comfort. After a day of exploration, sink into one of the cosy sofas with a mug of hot chocolate and chat late into the night as the embers glow in the open fire. Rustle up hearty family meals to share at the centrally positioned dining table. When it’s time to retire, a cosy twin bedroom is located on the ground floor, as are the two family bathrooms.

Take the stairs to the first floor where you will find the three remaining bedrooms. With beds made up with duvets and blankets, you’ll find there is a second twin bedroom on this floor as well as a double and a pretty single bedroom.

Outside, spread out your picnic blanket in the fully enclosed garden for an al fresco lunch, or lay back as the sun goes down and stargaze into the clear skies above.

Spend your days bagging the Loch Mullardoch Munros (8 miles), a series of four challenging Munros that can be completed individually or in one long day of hiking, rewarding you with breathtaking views across the Highlands. Follow the woodland trails through the ancient Caledonian pine forest to the stunning Dog Falls (6.5 miles) where powerful cascades tumble through the rocky gorge or take in the wonderful mountain scenery as you discover Loch Affric (14 miles).

Not to be missed is a visit to the world-famous Loch Ness (20 miles). Take a trip around the loch in search of its legendary resident or, if you're feeling active, why not take a canoe or kayak out on to the water to hunt out Nessie? Visit the Loch Ness Centre and Exhibition (15 miles) to explore the myths and legends of the underwater monster. Discover the ancient ruins of Urquhart Castle proudly sitting on the edge of the loch: climb the Grant Tower for impressive views and enjoy some refreshment in the cafe.

The cosmopolitan city of Inverness (30 miles) combines sophistication and history to create a vibrant place to explore. Browse the independent stalls in the Victorian market for a unique souvenir of your Highland holiday, explore the city's many galleries or admire the architecture of Inverness Castle and St Andrews Cathedral before exploring the tranquil Ness Islands.

Fantastic location. Couldn't ask for anything better . There were duvets provided on every bed and radiators in every room. Some reviews say that there weren't. It was a shame that the aga no longer works. Magical place.

Absolutely amazing views and very peaceful. Would definitely return in the future. The pub nearby was really friendly and inviting, food was simply but excellent. Be aware that there was an problem with the drinking water however the owners provide plentiful amounts of bottle water so it wasn't really an issue

Excellent cottage to get away from it all. Fantastic location with wonderful views of deer every morning and evening. Just remember there is only 1 single duvet provided no double just blankets.

Lovely cottage, beautiful with stunning views but very remote location. Loved not having WiFi or signal as we had real peace. The kitchen is lovely and has a real family feel. The deer roaming around were spectacular. Owner friendly and helpful. My gripes were the beds and bedding - the double bed is very old & uncomfortable. There are no duvets onRead morely blankets. The water is yellow and comes from the mountain so heads up on that - you need bottled water. Cottage is lovely and warm - feels homely. Hide
