Cottage idéalement situé pour visiter la région. Aménagement et confort correct, toutefois il serait bien de revoir les équipements ménagers qui montrent des signes de vétustés. Gardons un agréable souvenir de notre séjour. Translation : Cottage ideally located to visit the area. Proper layout and comfort, however it would be good to review the household equipment that shows signs of obsolescence. Let's keep a pleasant memory of our stay.
    Mr Daniel - June 2019
What a lovely cottage in idyllic surroundings. So private and yet 10 mins walk from the town. We have just spent a lovely fortnight here. Cottage has everything you could possibly want. Loads of space, comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen and a massive secure garden for our standard poodle Norah. So much to do in the area. Lovely walks right from front door,a charming little town and very central for away days. We certainly felt we had made a great choice for our holiday. In fact we have every intention of returning to this little gem of a place. Thank you for a very enjoyable break.
    Mrs Hunter - May 2019
This is either our third or fourth visit to Newton Cottage and it was another faultless week. The weather even cooperated with rain only on the day we arrived and the day we left. In between we walked round Blairgowrie and revisiting old haunts. Newton Cottage is an excellent base for any type of walking from a leisurely stroll into town to a more challenging walk either one of the nearby Munros or a couple of stages of the Cateran Trail. Going further a field you can visit Dundee and go round the new V&A Museum, Scone Place is another good day out and so is nearby Perth.
    Ms Howat - May 2019
A lovely cottage in great area central to many places.
    Mr Rundle - April 2019
Our second year at Newton Cottage. Everything was excellent. Beautiful area to explore, we found new places to visit and enjoy.
    Mrs Robinson - September 2018
Spacious, private cottage with two bedrooms, one of which is ensuite. There is a large lounge and kitchen with a bright “conservatory” area between the bedrooms and living area. Outside there are barbecue facilities,a sitting area and a large enclosed lawn. The cottage is comfortable and equipped with everything you need for your stay and is within easy walking distance of the town centre. It is a great cottage for a relaxing holiday. In the surrounding area there plenty of golf courses and good restaurants. My favourites are Strathmore Golf Club and Littles.
    Mrs Hamilton - June 2018
Just back from a lovely week in Blairgowrie with perfect weather. The house is spacious, comfortable and really well-equipped. We enjoyed breakfast in the sun lounge each day, walked in the countryside around with dog, ate in Lilly's (recommend) and at other bistros. Will definitely be back!
    Mr Hogg - June 2018
Stayed here as a family of four for a week in April. Lots of room in the spacious property with large living room and conservatory to spend time relaxing in. Property was extremely well equipped with everything that you need. Garden grounds were spacious and very well kept. Property feels like it’s in the middle of the country but is only a 10 minute walk into the village. Plenty coffee shops, supermarkets and takeaways in the village too with very nice ice cream shop with very friendly owner.
    Mr Mackinnon - March 2018
This was our first visit to Newton Cottage and Blairgowrie and we were not disappointed. The cottage location was perfect, almost within the town of Blairgowrie, but felt like we in the countryside. Excellent local walks from the cottage doorstop, through farmlands, woods, passing by the River Ericht, and rewarded with some breathtaking views. The cottage is well equipped, spacious and comfortable. Our holiday in Scotland was shared with our granddaughter. It was a joy to see her playing in the walled garden with our dog, Salvo. From the cottage we visited Pitlochry, took some snaps of Queens View, enjoyed a lunch in Dunkeld and paid a vist to Perth City. We hope to return to Newton Cottage.
    Mrs Beal - July 2017
The cottage was cozy and quaint! Perfect for our group of 4! Lovely, quiet area, exactly what we were looking for!!
    Mrs Hearn - June 2017
Travelling 2 Persons and a dog. Well equipped cottage with individual and personal furnishing. Our dog liked playing in the garden. Ideal basis for sightseeing Edinburgh and Perthshire...
    Dr Liedeker - June 2017
Had a superb week at Newton Cottage Blairgowrie. It is situated in the town but feels as if it's in the countryside. The layout of the cottage is good and each room is well-equipped. Our dog Max loved playing in the walled garden just as much as he enjoyed lots of long walks straight from the cottage. Had a good meal at Cargills Bistro (not open every day). Blairgowrie is within easy driving of lots of tourist attractions in Dunkeld and Pitlochry as well as the cities of Dundee and Perth. We also enjoyed a trip to a large antiques centre at Abernyte - well worth a visit.
Mr And Mrs Gordon - July 2016
The owner was on hand and very helpful. The cottage was warm and homely. The location enabled us to visit Balmoral, Glamis, Blair Castle and Scone Palace , as well as seeing places such as Pitlochry, Killin and Queen's View. We also visited the ship "Discovery" in Dundee and had some lovely walks. There was plenty of choice for eating out in Blairgowrie and the local Chinese takeaway can also be recommended. There were supermarkets close by also. In the field behind the cottage there was a mare with her new foal and we also saw a deer from the kitchen window.
    Mrs Henshall - May 2016
As always, we had a good week in Newton Cottage, we think it might have been our 7th or 8th time! This time we noticed several things that needed attention. The main door won't lock from the inside and the kitchen door sticks badly. The lights over the wash basins don't work and two chairs which are part of the set of six ( one is in a bedroom) have very loose joints and could could be a bit dodgy. We also thought the mattresses were not quite as comfy as they once were, maybe mattress toppers would be an answer. We hope in pointing these things out we have been helpful and we are looking forward to our next stay.
Owners Response: "We thank you for your review on Newton Cottage. We are pleased to let you know that we have bought 4 new mattresses and 2 new beds, under instruction of a local bed company. We have also had the front door locked fixed and removed the set of chairs and replaced. The bulbs in the kitchen are to be changed. I hope you find your next visit more comfortable."
    Mrs Paterson - April 2016
Newton Cottage is well located on the edge of Blairgowrie within walking distance of the shops but with a country outlook onto fields and woodland. Although only two bedrooms, this cottage is large with plenty of space in the sitting room and a kitchen large enough for four people to eat, and room to spare. The owner's father Bill was extremely helpful and in no way intrusive. Such problems as we had were dealt with very swiftly and effectively. I would certainly recommend this cottage as a comfortable, well located place to stay, at a reasonable price.
    Mr Houslop - July 2015
The cottage catered to such an extent, I didn't even have to use my items I brought from home.I usually bring my own bread knife, bone china mug/cup, potato peeler! It was spacious, and very comfortable. Good stock of books in the library and more bed linen if the weather turned chilly. Excellent supply of towels also.
    Mrs Hodges - September 2014
A superb location at edge of town. Cottage has excellent facilities with added bonus of privacy, tranquil setting, large walled garden and having opportunity to see deer from the lounge window. Cannot fault this in any way as we had a wonderful holiday and will certainly be looking to return again in the future.
    Mrs John - September 2014
A great cottage roomy airy clean and very dog friendly. good wifi, we watched sky on ipad. wildlife great, red squirrel in garden, friendly horses deer and hedgehog all seen in 3 days. Peace perfect peace with lots of space and perfect for 2 couples. We hope to go back and the owners father was helpful but, definitely not intrusive. We are usually aghast at the thought of meeting owners etc, but no stress here. Local area good plenty restaurants a tesco brilliant walks and very safe town to walk about in. Being from Aberdeen we noticed how polite drivers were!
    Dr Rait - May 2014
Lovely cottage and very well appointed. Plenty of utensils and very comfortable. In need of slight updating but great for a holiday cottage. Could do with some better outdoor furniture. Owner very helpful (and apparently a very distinguished gentleman). Lovely area with plenty to do. Great restaurant called Cargills - LOVELY food. Unfortunately couldn't manage a dessert. Not what you expect in a quiet Scottish town. Would recommend the cottage and area to everyone.
    Mr Gent - June 2013
A wonderful place to stay, with everything you could possibly need. The mare and her foal in the paddock were a daily pleasure, wonderful to watch The steep walk back from the village was the only downside , but it did keep us fit !! Blairgowrie was a nice village with plenty of eateries, our favourite was Cargill's, good value and wonderful service
    Mrs Stevens - June 2013
really loved the cottage, beautiful area,
    Mrs Cairns - May 2013
Cottage was huge but comfortable and cosy. If felt like being in the country but was very close to the town centre as well as the Catalan Trail for great scenic walks. Cargill's Bistro never disappointed for dinner and served half portions of some mains which left space for a delicious pudding!
    Mr Kettles - October 2012
Newton cottage is really lovely and comfortable. Convenient near all facilities, but very quiet at the same time !
    Mrs Richard - August 2012
A very spacious, comforatble and well equipped cottage. Private yet within easy walking distance of the town. A good place to unwind.
    Mrs Hamilton - July 2011
This is a great cottage if you are looking for peace and quiet but with close proximity to a small town. The cottage is very comfortable and the owner very attentive. The conservatory provides a good alternative seating area - particularly if you are fortunate enough to get the same sunny weather we did. Good outside space as well.
    Mrs Lang - April 2011
We were very happy during our stay at Newton Cottage. The rooms are all spacious and comfortable. There is ample parking outside and a huge lawn (if the weather permits for outdoor games). We found the cottage to have everything we needed and the location is lovely and quiet, although near enough to the town for supplies and meals out. We enjoyed it so much that our parents/in-laws are going to stay there this year.
