Situated on the edge of an ancient Scots Pine Forest, Rowan Cottage is truly an oasis of tranquillity and beauty for your holiday in Perthshire. With stunning views across the fields to the front and with the woodland to the back of the property, guests can enjoy the sense of rural seclusion surrounded by nature and wildlife. Watch the deer grazing round the house at dusk and spot the many bird species including goldcrests, cuckoos, pheasants and hawks or enjoy the many lovely walks from the door through the forest or down to the river - lovely at any time of the year.

Rowan Cottage has been beautifully renovated and furnished with every thought to provide luxurious, charming and spacious holiday accommodation of the highest standard. A spectacular double height open plan living area with wood burning stove is ideal for families to unwind and enjoy each other's company, with its well equipped luxury kitchen, large dining table and wonderful leather sofas. This leads through to a fabulous garden room where you can relax and watch red squirrels scamper from tree to tree on the edge of the forest or gaze up to stars in the night sky. There are four generous and comfortable bedrooms, two of which have French doors leading out to a secluded courtyard, the ideal place for morning coffee and croissants.

Located at the foot of the Angus Glens and with the North Esk River close by, there are many opportunities to enjoy the outdoors or, alternatively, an ideal base for touring the many historic properties close by including Edzell Castle, The House of Dun, Glamis Castle and Crathes Castle to name but a few. The renowned Angus beaches are nearby, as are the well-known fishings on the two Esk Rivers.

Rowan Cottage is one of four self-catering properties on the farm. Capo Farmhouse (sleeps 7), The Cowshed (sleeps 5) and The Cart Shed (sleeps 4) are equally as popular with holidaymakers.

The cottage was an ideal location for our New Year break, comfortably accommodating two families with teenage kids. Very cosy with a super open-plan living area and plenty bathrooms! Lovely forest walks from the doorstep and easy access to beaches (St Cyrus is fantastic) and the gorgeous Blue Door walk, just outside Edzell. Within Tesco delivery route too.
    Mrs Pratt - December 2016
We spent a week in Rowan Cottage and had a very peaceful, relaxing time there. The cottage has beautiful rooms, with double height open plan living and kitchen area. The bedrooms are immaculate and the master bedroom very spacious. The cottage is secluded but does not feel isolated. The owner of the cottage had placed fresh flowers in all the rooms and provided some essentials such as milk, butter, bread and biscuits-a nice touch. For anyone who wants peace and quiet in a beautifully appointed cottage go here!
    Mrs Gordon - July 2013
Ideal property for four chaps enjoying a week's golf in Angus and Aberdeen. Very comfortable, quiet and secluded.
Mr Strother Smith - June 2013
What a brilliant week. Mrs. Milne was so helpful when I phoned prior to arriving. We had two babies for the weekend and she organised cots and highchairs. What a lovely thought, fresh flowers, tea/coffee, biscuits, milk and bread for our arrival, very welcome after 7 hours in the car! It is a lovely property, big enough for people to have their own space and wonderful living accommodation. Thank you.
    Mrs Webb - May 2013
A pretty cottage, attractively furnished. Owners were very helpful in investigating points of interest to us and communicating the info swiftly - they showed a caring and considerate attitude towards their guests. Three bathrooms for 8 people - YES! Lovely surroundings. Award-winning butcher in Edzell - quality produce and very helpful staff. Also two nice local farm shops: Castleton (nr Laurencekirk) and Balna...? (5 mins from cottage - just off A90).
    Mrs Morrison - July 2012
This was a first rate cottage in a lovely rural location. The owner could not have been more helpful. The cottage is well appointed and would make a fantastic retreat for a family get together. It is not far from the wonderful Angus coast, but there are amazing walks in the near vicinity. Excellent all round
    Mrs Mclean - April 2012

    Dr Jones - August 2011
This was a brilliant cottage from start to finish. Accommodation was excellent and owners were great. Very spacious - much more than expected.
    Mrs Kelly - December 2010
This was our second visit to Rowan Cottage. The property itself was great, with good facilities. Fantastic setting and we enjoyed watching the wildlife. Some really good places of interest within driving distance. The only drawback was the poor condition of the private access road, which was badly potholed and very messy when wet. Would visit again, if the road access was much improved.
