Situated just a short walk away from what is probably the most popular tourist attraction on the Isle of Skye, Sealladh Beinn Edra (pronounced "Shallich Ben Edra"), which means view of Ben Edra is a tranquil retreat near the magical Fairy Glen in Uig. Ben Edra is the mountain at the head of the glen. The cottage is ideal for a small family, for one couple or four adults if two don’t mind a low ceiling, and is beside the neighbouring holiday property Taobh An Uillt.

As soon as you walk through the door, you see that this is a compact little cottage which is fantastically well equipped for holidaymakers. The galley kitchen is bright and easy to cook in with everything you could need at your fingertips. The sitting room is delightfully cosy with an open fire, making it the perfect place to snuggle up in the evenings and watch a film. The master bedroom is spacious and has been tastefully furnished with pale blue and white décor, providing a feeling of calm and peacefulness. The best feature of this house, in the eyes of the children, will definitely be the first floor of this cottage. The landing beside the stairs has been made into a snug/book corner, where the little ones can become engrossed in a magical story. Each bedroom up here has just one single bed due to the low ceiling height, so there’s no doubt that the kids will love having a bedroom each with the feeling of them being in their own little ‘den’ – wonderful for children of all ages!

The ever popular Isle of Skye is a wonderful place to holiday, with plenty of places to see – The Storr, Dunvegan Castle and The Quirang are just some that are well worth a visit. The cottage is close to Portree and is also just over an hour’s drive away from the Skye Bridge if you were keen to explore some of the mainland during your holiday. No matter what you do during your break, Sealladh Beinn Edra is a fantastic base from which to explore from.

Perfect place to unwind very cosy and easy to get to all areas of the island . Glen brittle beach is a must and great walk from the beach up the mountain to a pool . The hotel just down the road does excellent food and you can take dogs in the bar . The cottage is very well equipped . The weather was perfect even got a tan .
    Mrs Buckley-robbins - May 2019
The cottage is really nice and cosy. There is a great atmosphere and the kid bedrooms + games and books are a great bonus. The only thing that I feel can be improved is the cleanliness as the floor / surfaces were not particularly clean. For example there were lots of dust under the double bed in the master bedroom and the fridge was dirty. There was also a strange smell (kind of cat pee like) when we first entered the cottage around the kitchen / bedroom area. I understand that the noise made by the pipes when using hot water is in process of being fixed, that would be great as this is super loud.
Owners Response: "Thank you for your review and overall glad you did enjoy your stay and giving 4 stars. I will discuss the caretaking issues with my cleaner and investigate where the smell is coming from. I do understand about the pipes - I have been waiting for a plumber for a considerable time due to rural location. Thank you again for you feedback and I endeavour to sort all"

This is a gorgeous, cute cottage. Well appointed and full of mod cons. Despite rural location, wi fi is excellent and a large selection of tv channels are available. A lot of thought and care has gone into the interior design of the house and the fabrics and furnishings are comfortable and welcoming. For a fantastic meal and great gin selection, try The Ferry Inn, 2 minutes drive from the cottage in Uig.

Clean, comfortable, well situated cottage with everything we needed. Information pack gave ideas and recommendations, as well as maps and books. Would recommend Ella’s Cafe in the village for lunch or just coffee and cake, and Bog Myrtle in Struan. Scenery fantastic, had a great holiday here.

The cottage is clean and offers good space for the price. The owner sent information about the cottage and local amenities.
