Situated in a tranquil spot on the northern side of the island, this idyllic property offers a wonderful retreat for a couple or young family on the beautiful Isle of Skye.

Set against a backdrop of rolling mountains and open skies, this cosy white-washed cottage is a tranquil retreat for families seeking an escape from the hustle and bustle of modern life. Just a short walk from the enchanting hills and lochans of Fairy Glen, spend the day exploring its mystical landscape. Rugged mountain walks, stunning shoreline strolls and ancient ruins are within easy reach of this secluded cottage, and for days when civilisation calls, shops and pubs are less than 2 miles away.

Approached down a quiet lane, this compact cottage has a bright and contemporary feel, decorated in muted tones with bright accents of colour. Windows look out onto open countryside and rolling hills, offering ever-changing vistas as the light plays across the landscape.

Entering into the cottage, the cosy sitting room is a warm and inviting space with plump sofa and comfortable chairs. On cooler evenings, light the open fire and unwind in its gentle warmth. Prepare yourself a delicious meal of local produce in the well-equipped galley kitchen with views across the countryside from the glazed door. When it’s time to retire to bed, the master king-size bedroom can be found off the hallway and the family bathroom is on this level also.

Take the stairs to the first-floor landing which has been made into a snug/book corner for younger guests to curl up with a magical story before heading into their beds. The two single bedrooms are charming with sloping ceilings and Velux windows filling the rooms with natural light.

Outside, sit with your morning coffee and watch the birds swooping overhead or fire up the BBQ for a sociable meal late into the evening, watching the colours changing on the dramatic landscape.

Cosy little cottage with everything needed for a week away (except kitchen scales). The only disappointment was that the garden although fenced was not secure for dogs. There were several places where a dog could either get under the fence due to gaps or easily get over where the garden level was higher up the fence. We had a lovely time and would Read morehappily recommend it although not really suitable if you have a large dog like us which likes to spend its time in the garden. Hide

Great location and delicious food at the Uig Inn and Galley. Cottage cosy, although cold on arrival as no heat had been left on, although it did warm up reasonably quickly. A good base for exploring the north of Skye.
