A brand new house situated on an exceptionally scenic 3,000 acre Perthshire estate, Stalker’s Lodge is a wonderful holiday property. It’s been built and fitted out to an excellent 5* standard with spacious, light-filled rooms and discerning décor. Modern fabrics and furniture blend perfectly with traditional Scottish themes and solid oak floors. Whether it's the best beds, crisp cotton bedlinen, fluffy towels, built-in wifi music system or the sleek kitchen and bathroom fittings, little expense has been spared to make this an extremely comfortable and luxurious Highland getaway.

The glass-fronted double height extension is a joy, with its wood burning stove, comfortable sofas and glorious views across the rolling fields and strath.  The deck outside is perfect for enjoying a morning coffee or reclining on the sun lounger and contemplating the countryside.  The sitting/ dining room has a big corner sofa and a second TV, meaning everyone can spread out and do their own thing.   The kitchen is designed for social cooking with seating round the island.

The back of the house has a charming patio with large table and chairs, BBQ and is a good sun-trap. The garden  (fenced) is laid to lawn with swings and a slide for children.  There is ample parking and a lockable bike shed. Parents of small children should be aware that there is small burn running down the garden next door so, although the garden is fenced, they do need to be watched. As a working estate, dogs will love the space and freedom but also need to be kept under control.

The property has robust environmental credentials and runs biomass heating from redundant wood felled on the estate.

The estate makes a great holiday destination with inspiring scenery all around, wonderful wildlife and no shortage of activities. The loch is a beautiful focal point and has a boat and an island, perfect for Swallows and Amazon type picnics (buoyancy aids are available but boat and aids are used at holidaymakers own risk).  Fishing for wild brown trout is available by request. Children will love biking along the quiet estate road to explore the Walled Garden or the Millennium Wood, a lovely five acre plantation with a network of winding paths, lochans and a secret den.  It’s also a great place for letting the dogs run free as it’s securely deer-fenced. There is an all-weather tennis court and a cosy games room (shared with another cottage) equipped with pool table, table tennis and darts - perfect for wet days and evening entertainment.

For wildlife lovers, Red Squirrels visit the feeder most days and you are very likely to encounter Red and Roe Deer while walking around the estate. It is also very good for birders, with a wide variety of lowland and upland species.

Guided nature walks are available on request as well as supervised activities for children such as treasure hunts and pond dipping.

This is beautiful place and a good jumping off point to explore Scotland or for fishing parties. Pitlochry is only 20 minutes away with all its facilities, Braemar 45 minutes and Edinburgh an easy day trip.

The other holiday house – Keeper's Cottage sits close to Stalker's though each house retains great privacy and views.  The two houses taken together make a very good option for parties of 10 who can get together in Stalker’s for mealtimes and socialising but also enjoy having their own separate living spaces.

    Stalker's Lodge reviews
We had a fantastic week at Stalkers cottage on the Straloch estate, the house is very modern and the amenities second to none, Lucy was always available and very helpful. We would love to return again .
    Mr Edmonds - August 2018
Another wonderful stay at Stalker’s Lodge. Beautiful, well equipped cottage in a spectacular location. Have booked again.
    Mrs Kerr - August 2018
Stalker's Lodge was really good, with modern appliances and was very clean. It had all the required amenities and the walking paths and small loch nearby were really nice to go for a stroll. The proximity to Pitlochry is really good for shopping and there is a lot to do in the surrounding area. The welcome pack was also very welcome (gin)!, and the owner super helpful and friendly, we recommned it!
    Dr Brint - June 2018
We really enjoyed staying at Stalker's Lodge, the house is well equiped and very cosy, and we spent many happy hours in the sitting room, reading by the log fire and looking at the view. The children were able to run around safely outside and took full advantage of the play equipment. The grounds of the estate are very nice, and not too far from Pitlochry for grocery shopping. We would definitely go back.
    Mrs Watson - March 2018
This was our 2nd stay at Straloch and like last year we could highly recommend Straloch, the lodge and the hosts. Beautiful location and house, very thoughtful every detail and many walks directly from the house. All these make our stay very memorable. Thank you!
    Mrs Mittermaier - September 2017
If I could give it 6 stars I would. The house is fantastic, so well equipped with everything you need for a great holiday and so much time and effort has gone into information on the estate and available activities. The dogs loved the fenced wood where they could run about off lead without me worrying about them escaping. The garden is also fenced. The games room was a big hit with our teenagers and adults alike. The estate and scenery is beautiful. We had booked again for next year mid-way through the holiday!
    Mrs Kerr - August 2017
A fabulous property in a beautiful location. A spacious and well presented property which contains just about everything you'd need for a a self catering holiday. Even in the weather is inclement it's possible to just sit and appreciate the landscape through the picture window in one of the very comfortable lounges. The owner is very friendly, helpful and gives you the free run of the Estate. We've rented self catering cottages all over the UK and this ranks as one of the best.
    Mrs Turnbull - June 2017
If only our house was like Stalker's Lodge! The Lodge exudes quality throughout, modern and stylish inside yet looking every inch the traditional lodge on the outside. The music system is great, you can play music from your mobile phone, very popular with the younger generation! The kitchen is very well equipped but the cooker takes a little getting used to, but it works really well once you are used to it. The open plan lounge with wood burning stove, big TV and panoramic views across the valley is an absolute joy. Upstairs, the quality theme continues with quality fittings in the two bathrooms and three bedrooms. And that's just the house! The estate is in a beautiful location about 15 minutes (twisty) drive from Pitlochry, so it was easy to collect my son and his girlfriend from the station in the centre of the town. A highlight of the holiday was being guided up the hillsides by Lucy to hear the stags in season - an awesome sound resonating throughout the woods early on a cloud free, calm morning. In conclusion, one of the best houses we have stayed at in many years of self catering in the Scottish Highlands, thoroughly recommended.
    Mr Macdonald - October 2016
Great accommodation including the extras i.e. games hut, access to rowing boat and kayaks. Nice walks on the estate. Friendly host. 'Front of the house hospitality provided by Freuchie the dog. Even if you are not keen on dogs you will love Freuchie. Definitely on the tick box for a return.
