Description

The Ardross Residence is a gorgeous top floor apartment set upon the River Ness. The split level property is full of quirky interiors that ooze elegance. The apartment sleeps four in two large bedrooms where one carries a beautiful tartan theme that the owner has designed herself. The luxurious bedrooms consist of a king and super king size beds - one of which is zip-linked and can be split into twins if need be. The contemporary kitchen contains modern appliances to cook up a storm, with the spacious hallway being cleverly used as a dining area.

The owner's personal touches is what makes this property stand out from any other; the delicious shortbread and decanter of local whisky on offer when you arrive makes you feel welcome. There are cosy slippers for you to wear if you so wish that are stored in the 'Boot Store' at the door - a lovely touch to encourage you to feel at home whilst enjoying your break. A special feature of the property is the large window in the living room, offering spectacular views of the river and cathedral next door - you may even see a wedding or two during your stay! You could sit here for hours on end watching the world go by, or keep yourself amused by becoming engrossed in a board game or a good book.

When you do decide to explore the city, there are lots of things that are almost on your doorstep. Vibrant restaurants and fashionable wine bars line each side of the river, so plenty of places to spend the evening and enjoy city life. Eden Court Theatre is also within walking distance - see a show or a film and then enjoy the vibrant night life afterwards before making your way back to the apartment. If that isn't your thing, there are numerous shops and cafes in the centre. Take a walk over the suspension bridges on the river to the picturesque Ness Islands or visit one of many historic castles within the city and it's outskirts. Of course, a trip to Inverness is not complete without a  hunt for Nessie - it takes just 20 minutes to travel by car to Loch Ness.

However you decide to spend your city break, the Ardross  Residence is the perfect nest to come back to after a busy day of being out and about.

    The Ardross Residence reviews
Great location for the town centre. Lovely setting by cathedral and river. Good welcome by Diane, the owners representative. Would stay there again.
    Mrs Gordon - September 2018
Well equipped accommodation, very tastefully decorated. Terrific view from the living room.
    Mrs Wiltschek - September 2018
It was home away from home! It had everything you need for a perfect holiday including a warm welcome!
    Mr Henderson - September 2018
We like visiting Scotland by rail and this year decided to try Inverness. The Ardross Residence was a good choice - very well-appointed, clean and spacious accommodation with a grand view of the river and St Andrew's Cathedral. Inverness is compact enough to get around without a car, and the canal paths gave us all the exercise we needed. We were so impressed with the Tropical House at the Botanic Gardens, and the wonderful Cobbs Cafe there, that we visited it four times. We only caught heavy rain once, but managed to dry off in the Tropical House. Other things we enjoyed were a boat trip on Loch Ness, a walk to Craig Phadrig fort, and a visit to the amazing Leakey's bookshop on Church Street. We had a delicious pancake lunch opposite Leakey's, and also enjoyed ice cream in the September sun at the gelateria next door to Wild Pancakes. We had one day out on the train, visiting Nairn and Elgin. A very enjoyable week, and I found just enough space left in my suitcase to take home an organic whisky to try out. One little irritation with Inverness - the traffic lights make pedestrians wait ages and ages to get across the road, so much so that you often wonder if the lights are malfunctioning, and dash across through a gap in the traffic.
    Mr Stannard - September 2018
The Ardross Residence was very tastefully and lovingly furnished. There were even fresh flowers in the rooms, and fresh milk in the refrigirator. The owner asked, if everything okay or something wrong. The housekeeper was very friendly and contacted and received us to show us the apartment and hand over the 2 keys we requested. The equipment of the whole apartment, especially kitchen and bathroom included more than necessary.
    Dr Schöber - July 2018
Couldn't fault this rental. Everything in place from being met on the first day following a welcome text. Provided info on all equipment in the flat. Plentiful supply crockery, cutlery, linen. Lots of personal touches with tea, coffee, milk & fruit, biscuits on arrival. The list is endless but definitely would recommend &I have done so. Would return again.
    Mrs Miah - July 2018
The Ardross residence was a lovely apartment, on split levels. Diane who showed us round when we arrived was a lovely girl. The views from the lounge were really nice overlooking the river ness and the cathedral. There is every thing you would need in here and the nice touches of whisky, strawberries, biscuits and milk from Seona (the owner) were much appreciated. We have been to Inverness many times and always stayed in b/b places but we saw this apartment and it looked really nice. We are so glad we booked this and when we come up here again we will definitely book here. Many thanks Seona. Dave & Lorraine Newton
    Mr Newton - July 2018
We loved our stay the cottage was clean, spacious we had everything we needed. In our busy day we were happy to come home to relax in our cottage. We made supper at the house and basically felt like I was at home.
    Mr Budd - July 2018
We were surprised to be greeted and shown the apartment by Shirley even though we arrived slightly earlier than planned. The apartment was lovely and in an ideal setting. Inverness is an interesting and beautiful city. We were close to all amenities and enjoyed some meals out. It was a much better experience than other rental accommodations we have used in the past and we will return to Inverness and this residence again.
    Dr Cheeseman - June 2018
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Ardross Residence in Inverness. The apartment is in a great location for easy access to pubs, restaurants and shops. Everything you need for a self catering holiday is provided from toiletries to cleaning products. We really enjoyed the tablet, whiskey and shortbread that was left for us. Shirley the caretaker was there to meet us and show us round the property as arranged and sorted out a couple of small issues promptly. We would love to go back and stay here.
    Mr Martin - March 2018
Superb Accommodation in the heart of Inverness. Great view, great host, perfect for two couples or a family of 4. Parking permit provided, large lounge, comfortable beds. Big shower, no bath. A few stairs to climb. Hard to fault as city centre accommodation. Good value.
    Mr Mount - September 2017
This is a wonderful apartment finished to a high standard. In particular, the location was perfectly placed by the river and cathedral. We spent every morning on the window seat just people-watching. Parking was not an issue. We stayed for 10 nights and we always found a parking space where we could see our car from the apartment.
    Mrs Roberts - September 2017
Lovely time spent at the Ardross residence centrally situated to explore the surrounding area with the convenience of the city at hand. Pleasing views from the window to the river Ness and the cathedral. Homely place and comfortable. Parking wasn't always easy a case of grab a spot when you could. We would recommend The Ardross residence and stay again.
    Mrs Mcmahon - August 2017
We had a wonderful week staying at the Ardross, it had everything we needed to relax and enjoy our holiday, Parking was ideal with the parking permit as Inverness otherwise is very busy to find a place to park. Pubs, Resturants , shops , Theatre and Cinema a short walk away, fantastic in every way.
    Mr Meehan - July 2017
We were 4 New Zealanders staying for a week at "Ardross Residence" in July. We were just so pleased with this wee gem of a find in regards to the property, location and especially the owner Shirley who met us with yummy scones and showed us around the property, which we appreciated. The apartment was very clean with lovely home touches of items scattered throughout. Having a car park just outside was a great benefit. Being within walking distance to so many of the main attractions was such a bonus and we enjoyed getting to know this lovely city. We were well positioned in Inverness to take day trips, including down to the Isle of Skye and up to Thurso, .....such a beautiful Country. We all want to come back and we would not hesitate to see if this apartment was available again if we did.
    Mr Vivian - July 2017
Would stay again! Great location with amazing views of the river and church opposite. Nicely appointed it met our family of 4 needs well. Very spacious, stylish designer touches made our stay very cosy. Lovely owner we met was helpful and welcomed us personally with a smile and sweets/snacks/baked goods :)
    Mr Reynolds - July 2017
We enjoyed a 5 night stay at the Ardross Residence in June 2017. The apartment is very centrally situated in Inverness so you are surrounded by opportunities for eating, shopping and exploring. It takes about 10 minutes by car to get to the edge of the City to go further afield. The train station is about 12 minutes walk. The flat is up 3 flights of stairs behind 3 locked doors so think about your baggage! It does mean of course that the views are terrific from the large picture window overlooking the river. The kitchen is well equipped and when you arrive you will find fresh milk, tea, coffee etc. and we enjoyed fresh flowers, shortbread, scones and jam too. It was handy to have both a dishwasher and a washer/dryer. The flat was very clean and comfy and had great bedding and towels. The shower was large and the hot water was plentiful. There are stairs between one bedroom and the bathroom and the bedrooms were separated by some distance which might be a plus or a minus for families. Parking is street-side. We found a space each day but sometimes it was 50-100M away and the parking permit is only valid on that street so if you could not find a space, you'd have to use the pay parking about 200m up the road. There is a Tescos within 5 minutes walk for daily essentials.
Mr And Mrs Welsh - June 2017
We were so pleased with our stay at Ardross Residence that we hope to make it back someday and would highly recommend it. Our hosts were wonderful and left a lovely welcome package of scones, jam and cream - and also a decanter of whiskey and milk for our coffee/tea. The apartment is gorgeous and spacious with many extra amenities. We had four adults and were quite comfortable. The decor is lovely, and it has everything you could ask for, from the TV and WiFi to large bedrooms and bathroom to the well-equipped kitchen with microwave, dishwasher and laundry. But best of all is the location! So convenient to walk to town or along the river. And what a view of the river and the cathedral from the living room window seat! Thank you so much Seona and Shirley for your hospitality!
    Mrs Bruzaitis - May 2017
The The Ardross Residence is a fantastic apartment it has everything and more than you could ask for . Very clean and wonderfully decorated with lots of personal touches from the owners , who go out of there way to make your stay one you will not forget they make it so homely, the location is superb for visiting the highlands , we would highly recommend this apartment
    Mrs Muskett - March 2017
The Ardross Residence, overlooking the River Ness, offered us a supremely comfortable home for our week in Inverness. From the scones with strawberries and cream to the whisky and tablet, everything was perfect! And Seona our hostess offered to drive us to the railway station because of the heavy rain when we left. The apartment is very close to all the amenities of the city, but one experience we particularly enjoyed was our walk through the Ness Islands, a beautiful woodland just a short distance upstream. I would definitely recommend The Ardross Residence as a well-thought-out, elegant and convenient place to stay when visiting Inverness.
    Mrs Nuttall - September 2016
We really enjoyed our stay at the Ardross Residence, the apartment was beautifully appointed and in a wonderful location, and the welcome pack was a reaaly nice touch. Inverness remains one of our favourite places ever and the apartment was in a fantastic location for exploring the town and the Highlands. We will definately be back.
    Mr Walker - September 2016
We were welcomed by our hosts who were able to duly accommodate our arrival time and delay. We were shown around the beautiful apartment which is well equipped. No need to take anything but yourself. The living room has a beautiful view across the river and is only a short walk into Inverness. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to book again for an annual event. Many thanks to Sheona and her husband for the little added extras that made our stay all the more perfect.
    Miss Trippier - September 2016
The apartment is located directly across the cathedral in Inverness and looking out over the river Ness. The living room has a big window with a bench to sit and enjoy the view. Especially in the morning we were able to enjoy the sunshine streaming into the room. The stay was wonderful. The owner supplied us with milk, water, bisquits and yummy scones (of course including cream and jam). We were set for our first day :) There is only parking on the road, but we never had a problem finding a spot and ever had to walk very far.
    Miss Strandberg - August 2016
Gorgeous flat in the heart of Inverness, well located with a great view through the large window in the living room of the river Ness and the cathedral next door. Well furnished with taste and very comfortable. The owners were very obliging and we enjoyed their nice and warm welcome in Inverness. It's just a great stay in the centre of the Highlands.
    Mr Lassandro - August 2016
Nice, planned and splendid flat. A lot of thought and smart things in the flat. All useful from the sewing kit to the tips and tricks on what to do in Inverness.
    Mr Theander - July 2016
The Ardross Residence is a welcoming, well equipped, comfortable apartment in the heart of Inverness. It is furnished beautifully and offered everything that we needed for our week's break. A parking permit is supplied for the on-street parking and this was most welcome. The location was excellent. Access to the city centre and the range of cafes and restaurants was easy on foot, and only a short drive by car took us out towards the Moray Firth, or over the Kessock Bridge to the Black Isle. The owners were welcoming and we were delighted to be greeted with a tray of goodies when we arrived.
    Mrs Keay - July 2016
