Description

Unfortunately, this house is not suitable for children under 3.

The Clubhouse is situated 5 miles south of Inverness in the quiet area of Farr, near Inverarnie. As a purpose built self catering holiday home, The Clubhouse is a compact little cottage that contains everything you will need during your stay. Ideal for couples seeking a romantic retreat outside the city, this cosy little cottage is an absolute delight, and guests will love the feature woodburning stove in the open plan living area. The bedrooms are stylishly decorated, each with luxuriously cosy beds and pillows that you can sink into at the end of each day. The cottage has wonderful countryside views that can be appreciated from the decked area at the front of the property, where the owner has hand built an authentic, wooden picnic bench for guests. A traditional Scottish cooked breakfast would be best enjoyed here on those beautiful summer mornings, and in the evenings you can relax with a glass of your favourite tipple and watch the sun go down. An abundance of wild birds can often be seen in the garden too, so grab your binoculars and get spotting!

Inverness town centre, which has plenty of bars, restaurants and shops, is around 6 miles away. Loch Ness is 12 or so miles away, which is a must see when visiting the Highland capital. There are a few lochs in the surrounding area of The Clubhouse which make lovely walks, and numerous places to take your bike. The cottage is a 40 minute drive away from Aviemore, which is famous for its winter pursuits such as skiing and snowboarding in the winter months.

Please note: Although dogs are welcome at The Clubhouse, please be aware that there are horses in the surrounding fields, and the owner has dogs in the neighbouring house. Guests should ensure that dogs are well behaved and kept on a lead when outside, as they may be able to squeeze through the perimeter fence at one side of the property into a field where horses are kept.

    The Clubhouse reviews
The Clubhouse have all things, you need for a stay in the nature. You are very fast in the near to Inverness or in the hills for hiking. The region of Inverness provide many things to see. We enjoyed our stage in the Clubhouse.
    Mr Feuz - July 2019
Whilst the setting is lovely and owner attentive there are areas that need approving. The beds are terrible. I had the double and I could feel all the springs just by running my hand over the bed. So sleeping in it was uncomfortable. My friend slept in both of the single beds and they were equally poor so better beds needed. Better pillows needed they are too firm and you can get softer modern pillows so a mix of one of each type would be better. Things that could also be improved would be the addition of coat hooks in the sitting area where wet coats could be hung up. We had to drape ours over the airer. There is no where to hang towels, no hooks in the bathroom (the Ikea towels come with tabs sewn in) so every moring we had to have the airer up in the lounge to hang the towels on. The expelair in the bathroom is not powerful enough ( I stood on a chair to see how much air was being sucked out and it was minimal) this resulted in the bathroom getting steamed up each morning so the window needed to be open. Not enough china, we had to ask for extra bowls for our nuts and olives and a salad bowl since we were using the only large bowl for our fruit. We like to cook since we are vegetarian, gluten and dairy free so minimal china and saucepans/pots is a dissapointment. No oven gloves so had to use teatowels. No hooks on the back of doors so spare coats/jackets (the weather was mixed during our stay) ended up in the wardrobe or on the settee. We had dressing gowns so again these ended up on the bedrom floor in the double room. All these things can easily be resolved.
Owners Response: "Thanks you for your feedback following your stay at The Clubhouse but this is the first time we have had any negative feedback, therefore are very disappointed, it would be great to keep all of the guests happy all of the time but we all have very different views and opinions. The beds have always had good feedback but we will ask to incoming guests for more feedback before we replace the mattresses as they are fairly new, the pillows we feel that this is a personal thing everybody has different tastes on texture of a pillow. Coat hooks have now been put on the bathroom door, 2 bedroom doors and in the hall cupboard door and the expelair in the bathroom does what it is supposed to do, expels air rather than hoover and is of Building Control Standard. Small bowls and a large bowl were provided on request and since your stay a further large bowl and salad servers have been added to the cottage. There is a full dinner service in the cottage, 4 Large Plates, 4 Serving Plates, 4 bowls, 4 Mugs, 3 Saucepans, a frying pan and a casserole dish and plenty of other utensils. It is a 4 ring hob so anymore couldn’t possibly be used. The oven glove is in the same cupboard as the saucepans. Sorry, ladies you didn’t enjoy your stay at The Clubhouse maybe it’s just not the correct accommodation for you."
    Miss Meads - June 2019
This is our second stay. Lovely welcome from our hostess Mags! Thoroughly enjoy the quiet country setting, watching the wildlife, and many cups of tea by the wood stove. We will be back!
    Mrs Graham - May 2019
This property is perfect for a small family looking for a rural and peaceful break. close to local amenities, offers close proximity to great walking areas and family days out. The owners are so kind and thoughtful doing what they can to make your holiday special even leaving little gifts for you on your arrival which was a very special touch indeed. We couldn't have ask for more.
    Mrs Kadoch - December 2018
The Cottage is a gorgeous modern little place with wonderful views. Cozy and homely no matter what the weather outside. A fantastic place to come back to in the evenings after a day of sightseeing.
    Mr Fulton - October 2018
The Clubhouse is gorgeous. Beautifully decorated with floor to ceiling windows looking out to the hills. The cottage was really comfortable and had everything we needed, a perfect base for us and our 2 children aged 5 & 8
    Mrs Hunter - August 2018
Lovely lodge Fantastic views and location. Perfect place for a getaway. Perhaps a little hard to find and get to but certainly worth it and the owners are very helpful and friendly. If i had to be pushed to say something negative about the clubhouse the only thing i can think of is there is no hair dryer.
    Mr Millen - July 2018
We loved our stay! What a lovely wee quiet place! It was so nice to come back after a day of dealing with family issues to relax and take it easy. So much so, it felt like we were on holiday! The cottage is luxurious and has everything you would need, in a nice quiet spot, with lovely friendly hosts. Looking forward to booking the cottage again for our next trip home. Highly recommend this cottage for a comfortable country stay.
    Mrs Graham - June 2018
Had a wonderful time at the clubhouse...Hosts were fab,and couldn't do enough for us ! The cottage itself was perfect modern ,clean but had everything you could need including stunning views from the living room and bedroom windows... Central to lots of places to visit and days out and Inverness about a 10 min drive...although given the cottage location you would never guess your that close. We would love to go back again
    Miss Rickards - May 2018
We stayed in the clubhouse for 5 nights,it was spotlessly clean, set in a lovely location, saw lots of wildlife and the weather was just fab!! Mags, the owner was very attentive, and was there to answer and solve any quieries we had-thanks Mags!
    Mrs Scott - May 2018
We loved staying at the clubhouse. We liked the comfortable open place living space with the big glass doors looking out onto the hills. We enjoyed looking out over the countryside and watching the wildlife. It was a lovely touch to have a big bucket of bird seed and encourage the birds to visit. We had many birds come to say hello, from sparrows and chafinches to a pair of pheasants and a mother hen! Thanks to a tip off from our host we even saw a pair of Osprey fishing over the loch for their supper. The cottage was very well equipped and really comfortable. It has lots of information and OS maps so we could find out about the local area. We enjoyed walking the Esker trail which is close by. Such beautiful woodlands and pools. It was a quick drive into Inverness too so it was in a handy position.
    Miss Nunn - April 2018
We didn’t have the best of weather, so it was great that The Clubhouse was cosy inside. The underfloor heating worked a treat, so we never needed to use the stove. Everything is there that you would expect to find in a self catering let. I cycle so having a washing machine was a must, and with the underfloor heating everything dried very quickly. I would recommend this let.
    Mr Dingwall - March 2018
The Clubhouse is incredibly comfortable and cosy, perfect for myself, husband and 2-year old. The location was beautiful and hosts very welcoming. Spotlessly clean with lovely furnishing throughout.
    Ms Devereux - October 2017
Spotless cottage with amazing views, comfy beds, excellent outside space & little extra touches everywhere which made our week stay feel even more special. No shortage of local attractions from dolphin boat trips, beaches, breweries, historical sites & lovely wee villages - went to Cromarty twice - saw dolphins from Chanonry beach on Black Isle. Cottage owners couldn't have been friendlier. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
    Mrs Knox - July 2017
I would like to recommend this lovely cottage/cabin , not sure how to describe it exactly but it is new and fresh well equipped , in a good location not that far from Inverness but out in the lovely Scottish scenery, peaceful, some friendly horses as neighbours, it gets the name Clubhouse I think because of the two decorative golf greens over the field, it's just a very nice place to get away to for a short break. We had a super drive on one of the most scenic routes in Scotland down to Fort Augustus on a sunny May day and just great to watch the boats on the Caledonian canal. Magg's and Kenton the owners of the Clubhouse are lovely folk and it was nice to meet them. Many thanks.
Mr And Mrs Smith - May 2017
Excellent for a short break, hosts were fantastic and really helpful.
    Mr Park - April 2017
Wonderful, modern and clean place to stay with lovely views. Hosts were very helpful and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Definitely hope to visit again! Thank you!
