    The Cowshed reviews
Well positioned to tour E Scotland using A90 dual carriageway. Good combination of houses/castles, towns, Coast and countryside Edzell and Fettercairn area itself had surprising amount to offer on doorstep My favourites overall were St Andrews and the walk from head of Glen Esk to Queen Victoria’s Well
    Mr Booth - September 2018
The Cowshed is an amazing property, the views are stunning and the property has everything you need. The kitchen is fully equipped, the beds are really comfortable. You have a short walk and you are down by the river. We found Luna beach, which was beautifull with a cafe.
    Mrs Woods - August 2017
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Cowshed. A well laid out home with tasteful decoration and interesting art work. Very comfortable rooms and the kitchen a joy to use. Helpful owner who suggested places to visit and responded quickly to our needs. Local area very pretty and some great drives. I would recommend the property.
    Ms Clark - September 2016
We had a fantastic time at the Cowshed. Booking information and details from the owner were excellent. Excellent welcome pack from the owner and a message to ensure we had settled. The property is in a beautiful setting. Our children enjoyed watching rabbits and deer and exploring the farm. The house was beautifully decorated and the kitchen was well stocked with dry ingredients such as stevia and buckwheat flour. Despite the rain we enjoyed visiting Breechin, Montrose, Stonehaven, Arbroath and Balmoral. We would love to visit again.
    Mr Johnson - July 2016
Excellent house for short or long stays, it doesn't lack anything. We found this house very clean and just ready to unpack our suitcases. We were a family of 5, and the bedrooms and 3 bathrooms worked perfect for us. A property very well looked after, tastefully decorated, very practical and cozy. The owners were very friendly and helpful to us. We will definitely be back. Raquel
    Mrs Lopez - October 2015
A perfect retreat. Every need met.
    Mr Lancaster - July 2015
This was our second stay at the cowshed and everything was as in our memories : PERFECT. The house is beautiful, decorated with amazing taste and has everything you might need (yes everything I was even able to bake a cake) The beds are really confortable. The area offers plenty to do. Moreover the house offers also the luxury to NOT have to take your car to enjoy lovely walks in the woods (be quiet and look out for the fox and the doe) or near River Esk.
    Mrs Magnier - August 2014
We loved our stay at The Cowshed. Not only is it a home from home, with idyllic views, it's also in an excellent location - it's such a good spot from which to tour round eastern Scotland. We were very sad to leave and, as a result, would recommend it to anyone. It's by far the best rental property we've ever stayed in on holiday.
    Mr Bowen - July 2014
This was our fourth visit to the Cowshed and we are planning our next holiday in Edzell so I think that says it all. It never feels like a rental property more as if you have been invited to stay in someone's home.
    Mr Gledhill - June 2013
We had a lovely week at the Cowshed. My daughter declared that this was what she wanted her house (when she could afford one) to look like! It was a very quiet and comfortable place to stay. We saw deer in the woods and even a hare - though no sign of the red squirrels. They had a Wii with games. We each had a bath room. The ensuite shower was enormous, my daughter loved the shower room and I bathed in the big old-fashioned bath - fantastic! My son used the bath too. As regards finding good places to eat - the village / country pubs are better than the towns. There only seem to be a few restaurants in the towns.
    Miss Stokes - August 2012
A particularly beautiful house in a wonderful setting. The road leading to the house was really bumpy but that's the only fault we could find in the cowshed.
    Mrs Magnier - August 2011
My husband and I stayed here for the wedding of a family friend, we were joined by my daughter and her partner and two other couples - old school friends. We had a great stay and when the children went back we stayed for a few days and fished and explored the area. The owner could not have been kinder or more helpful - especially when I discovered that I had left all my jewelry! Highly recommended.
