Located in Lamlash village, with its main street along the bay where you can shop, eat, and admire the sea view, this bright and cheerful bungalow is a lovely base for your holiday to the Isle of Arran. Sleeping six people across three rooms, it would suit a small gathering of family or friends who wish to enjoy a rural retreat to the Isle without being too remote. Set within a quiet residential area on the edge of Lamlash, you can simply bask in the peace.

Inside, this single-storey property is bursting with charm, with colourful and quirky decor and thoughtful attention to detail. It’s bright and airy throughout, especially in the sunroom and the lounge, which features a full-length picture window. There’s a three-step entrance to the front sun porch, and you can leave shoes and coats behind. Get comfortable in the spacious lounge and curl up into a soft seat in front of the SmartTV for a relaxing evening in.

Prepare your meals in the kitchen, well-equipped with everything you need to cook up a storm, and the open-plan layout leads you straight into the dual aspect sunroom. The dining area has been set up here, so you can tuck into a hearty dinner and afterwards, if the day is warm, carry a drink out through the French door for a stroll or a seat in the garden. Unwind with a soothing hot shower, before retreating to one of the pretty bedrooms.

Direct access from the sunroom onto the patio means al fresco dining is easy: when the sun shines, simply take plates and drinks out straight from the dining table. The large garden wraps around the bungalow, and there is a lawn at both the front and back of the house. Outside there’s also a garage, and driveway parking for two cars.

The property is very handily located on the main island bus route, so you have the option of leaving the cars at home and taking a tour of Arran's sights and scenery via public transport. For keen golfers, there are seven courses on Arran, the nearest of which are Lamlash (1.5 miles), Whiting Bay (4 miles), and Brodick (4.5 miles). A great day out for all ages includes a trip to Brodick Castle, Garden and Country Park (6.5 miles). As well as interactive exhibitions inside the castle itself, the formal gardens are worth a wander and children will love the adventure play area.

For those who enjoy a tipple, Arran Brewery (6 miles) specialises in beer and you can take a tour and browse their shop, while the Isle of Arran Distillery and Visitor Centre (17.5 miles) runs whisky tour and taste experiences and you can even take a cask away with you. Not to be missed are the boat trips leaving from Lamlash Pier (1 mile), including the Holy Isle Ferry, or set out on foot to explore Arran's diverse landscape. Adventure seekers and walkers should plan a day for scaling Goat Fell, Arran's highest peak and a hugely popular trail on the island. You can pick up the route from either the Brewery or Brodick Castle, and the panoramic views from the top are incredible.

Lovely property in a great location. Very comfortable, warm and spacious. Great enclosed garden. Everything you need for a family holiday. Comfortable beds, clean and well equipped. Nice welcome box with treats for the dog too. WiFi was a bit slow but this stopped us using phones and tablets and helped us to read, talk, and play games. Would not heRead moresitate to recommend this property and we would certainly book again Hide

Our dogs managed to escape through gaps in the bottom of the garden hedge. This needs to chicken wire round it to make it pet proof. The owners left a lovely gift box for visitors. This was incredibly kind. Also, their contact at the outset of the holiday and on our return was lovely.

Arran is a beautiful island and Lamlash is a great place to stay. The Mulberry was in a quiet location and only a short walk to the town and also beach. The cottage is a home away from home with everything you could need. The views from the dining room are lovely to eat your meals with. Lovely place to stay, perfect for exploring Arran. Short walk into Lamlash, which was a great coastal village with several places to eat, a small Co-op, and everyone so friendly. The bungalow is spacious, well equipped, and the enclosed garden is fine for a dog that won't try crawling under a hedge to escape (our greyhounds were very secure!)
