    The Stables reviews
A very nice cottage, very well maintained and pleasant. The owners were welcoming and helpful. For us it was in a good location, being near Dunkeld and the A9 but not so near that there was any traffic noise. The Hermitage very close, half an hour to Aberfeldy or Pitlochry.
    Mr Stansfield - October 2018
The stables, located on the edge of the tay forest, from which you can walk beautifully. Nearby is the Hermitage of Dunkeld. The stables are fully equipped. A nice place to explore the meadow circumference.
    Mr And Mrs Nissen-voorn - July 2018
We would just like to say that we had a fantastic time celebrating both my birthday and new year at the Stables Dunkeld. The property was immaculate and so cozy and warm just what we needed as we did have some great snow on our arrival, we will definitely book again for this year. Dinner at the Indian in Pitlochry was great and the restaurants in Dunkeld were also very good and so welcoming.
    Mr Mcmenemy - December 2017
We booked this cottage to visit Blair Horse Trials. The Cottage was a 2 minute drive from the main road, but very peaceful. Great walks on the doorstep and in the surrounding location. Dunkeld was roughly 5minutes away by car and had some lovely places for an evening meal. The cottage itself was immaculate, with added extras we didn't expect. Lovely spacious bedrooms ensured a good nights sleep. The owners were very welcoming, lovely home baking awaiting our arrival. We would definitely stay here again and recommend to our friends.
    Ms Bremner - August 2016
The Stables is well furnished, Modern & comfortable The Double (King size) Bed is very comfortable & the rooms are generous sized, we found the owners are welcoming, & we have no hesitation recommending it if you do not mind driving for a meal. Dunkeld is approx 3 miles away & has good selection of cafes & restaurants. If you come also check Dunkeld & Birnam arts centre / & Pitlochry theatre for events. The location is ideal for cycling / walking with minor roads thro Tay valley & Forest tracks readily accessible
    Mr Tye - March 2016
We were looking for a relaxing, get away from it all holiday with our little dog. The Stables looked lovely on the website and it didn't disappoint when we got there. We were given a warm welcome and some lovely cakes. Very close to Some lovely towns including Pitlochry and Dunkeld. I would recommend Spill the Beans Cafe and The Meeting Place restaurant in Dunkeld. Both welcomed dogs and they couldn't have been nicer. We would definitely go back.
    Mrs Thomson - July 2015
Accomodation was first rate, very comfortable. The homemade cake left by owners was delicious and much appreciated. Lovely countryside and lots of forest walks in the area. Handy location for sight seeing around the highlands and fife.
    Mr Craigie - July 2015
The Stables was a lovely cottage, the end of a link of three. Everything was so clean, very well looked after and welcoming home-baked cake a very thoughtful touch which was much appreciated. We lost count of the swallows, enjoyed the visits of Millie and Skye and, much to our surprise, had a visiting pheasant at 4.00 in the morning, pecking at the patio doors!! There was plenty to see and enjoy in the immediate and surrounding areas
    Mr Stanton - June 2015
The Stables is without doubt one of the best properties we could wish to rent for a stay in the heartland of beautiful Perthshire. Immaculately clean, well-appointed, yet with a lovely cosy feel, we felt instantly "at home from home". The Dunkeld Path Network provides a wealth of wonderful walks through gorgeous countryside - nature at its best! Dunkeld itself charmed us, with a special mention to Food for Thought - a great deli for the most delicious sandwiches, coffee and treats! The Naked Sheep offers some superb local knitwear at realistic prices, and we loved the small specialist galleries dotted around.
    Mrs Moss - August 2014
A beautifully set out modern cottage in a lovely peaceful location, with very helpful and very welcoming owners and cute dogs (which my daughter loved).  Near to Dunkeld and Birnam (which has a great little coffee shop) and local shops, but NOT really walkable as it is the other side of the main, and very busy, A9. The River Tay runs through Dunkled too as well as The Hermitage - a very pretty wooded walk (owned by the National Trist for Scotland) and Loch of the Lowes (with osprey nests) is 5 mins away by car. Great location as it was easy to get to many tourist attractions.- Pitlochry was about 20mins away and there were numerous other things to do in the area. But being near a main route it was easy to get to things a bit further away. We enjoyed the Crannog - an Iron Age lock dwelling (about 45mins away) and did the funicular at Aviemore (about an hour and a bit away). Nice restaurants locally too (Howie's bistro in Dunkeld and Fern cottage in Pictlochry). The only downsides I would say are no phone signal nor wifi- it has one but we couldn't get it to work- so if you need to be able to continue working whilst away then this probably isn't for you and I would say realistically you do need a to have a car.
    Mrs Veel - August 2014
As a family we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Stables. The owners made us very welcome which included a lovely cake to help us settle in! The house is ideally located to explore the surrounding area and has all the comforts of home to make you relax and switch off. We look forward to returning again soon and would recommend this to anyone with children and dogs considering the lovely walks at the near by river.
    Mr Bradley - August 2013
Spotless accommodation - every little detail thought about by the owner. The welcoming cake and milk were very much appreciated after a long journey. Beautiful location. Would definitely recommend this accommodation to anyone.
    Mr Sugden - July 2013
Clients very happy with the accommodation
    Mr Walls - April 2012
A fantastic place to enjoy a quiet relaxing holiday. Its location gives you miles of quiet scenic forest walks literally on the doorstep yet you are only a few miles by car to literally dozens of tourist attractions. The accomodation was the best we have ever stayed in and quite simply could not be faulted. The owners made us feel very welcome and were always on hand to answer any queries. We had a great holiday and certainly intend to come back!
    Mr Crilly - August 2011
